So basically it's what I thought. He still makes money on anything that happens there. It's a lost cause on me. I'll still follow the Dodgers, still wish them well, but it's over. |

Seems like quibbling to me, to be honest. I mean, he already made money hand over fist from the purchase, so why is that okay, but the fact he still gets revenue from the parking lots the sticking point for you? He won't be the only one benefiting, and he won't be the one setting parking lot prices at games. And I don't think it's such a bad thing to consider commercializing some of the land around Dodger Stadium. The guy is a complete terd, and that is true, but there's nothing left to do about it at this point. He no longer owns the Dodgers and no longer has the opportunity to screw them up.

It's enough to make me finally say fuck it. Look I don't hate the Dodgers, in fact I'll still wish them well and cheer them on. But they are no longer my favorite team. I've grown apart from the Dodgers the past couple years as it is, so this is just the end of recognizing them as #1. I live right down the street from Angel Stadium (have my whole life) and have always considered the Angels a very close #2. Now I'm just going full tilt and accepting the fact that I really should devote a majority of my attention to them. You are just upset because if the RWBL restarts I'll get the Angels. |

It's worth getting Sack in
But I'm sure Kershaw will be 6/6/6 if I get the Dodgers |

I think I just talked myself out of playing already. .
There's no way that 10 years contracts can exist when the game destroys players for fun(assuming that nothing has changed in the past 12 versions) |

The way I understand it is, he's forming a joint venture with some of the partners who bought the team, but neither party can do shit without the approval of the other. McCourt wants to build something on that land? Can't do it without the approval of the partners. Partners want to build something? Can't do it without McCourt's approval. The parking revenue streams and control of parking costs remain with the Guggenheim etc. McCourt profits if that land ever gets built up and becomes another revenue stream. If it doesn't, he doesn't see a dime beyond what he got paid for the team. Which is admittedly immense. $1.6bn cash, $400m in debt assumption, he got the Stow family to hold off on suing the team until after it came out of bankruptcy (which means Guggenheim will be on the hook for the costs, not McCourt). I wonder if Cohen might protest just on general principle - not because he thinks he'd actually get the team, but to try to put the screws to McCourt to make sure he doesn't walk away with a deal quite as rich as he's getting if the "whoops picked one without the required auctions" thing stands. |

My wife apparently pre-ordered OOTP for me, so I'm definitely back in the RWBL as the Tigers. I'm also still interested in co-commishing if nobody else wants to.

I'm thinking that filling (most likely) the AL full of human owners would be realistic. But I doubt we could pull together 30 people for a complete league. Especially once a few people end up quitting. I'm down to help run, my schedule is more open for now.
And I figure we'll stick Bug with the talentless no revenue generating A's. The Royals probably have too many prospects. |

It's definitely not forum blue - I did the best I could with just replacing colors, and it's difficult to replace white. Obviously, you get where I was going with that.

As Iconic as the Lakers and the purple and gold are, I doubt the Dodgers will be making color switches anytime soon
But you can get an LA hat in pretty much any color you want. I'm not sure if that's an LA thing or every team has that option Last edited by MrBug708 : 03-29-2012 at 04:01 PM. |

What are the scenerios where the Lakers wear purple? I'm assuming they can wear the yellow jerseys at basically any point, other than maybe a road game vs the Warriors?

Purple uniforms are used for road games and gold uniforms are used for home games. The team also wears white jerseys for Sunday and holiday home games. |

Dola.
It's possible I only grudge watch the lakers play. As far as alt-colored hats go, I have this sweet slate gray Pirates cap I wear a ton. I would never wear anything that has gold in it. |
