I missed what Tito said to get the crowd booing. Also, why did he have a black eye?

Even though he was caught with an illegal shot (which I think put his bicep into his eye and that caused the damage FWIW), and is right about Dan Hardy not really having deserved a shot, Koscheck still comes across like a twat.

Tito is pleading to Dana to let he and Forrest coach TUF 11. It makes sense. It'd be two coaches who have strong followings and good personalities for that kind of show, and it'd lead to a rubber match which I think would be another solid fight.

I would love Forrest and Tito as coaches as well, but I do agree here. UFC needs to build some of their younger fighters, Couture V Coleman type fights are not going to cut it, especially if Strikeforce can get some momentum going with some solid shows. Dana needs to expose the personalities of some of his up and comers so the fans can get to know more about them and start to "bond" with them. Carwin and Velesquez would have made a good pairing if Carwin was not injured. Hardy and Koschek or Hardy and Fitch might be good pairings down the road or Gray Maynard /Kenny Florian. |

Agreed with Hardy and Koschek. I told my buddy that last night. It'd be a lot of fun to hear those two talk shit to each other. I heard rumors that Jake Shields will be coming to UFC and do TUF 12 vs GSP. Interesting rumor to be sure. |

108 might be the hardest hit MMA show ever.
Now Gonzaga is reported to be out with a staph infection of his own. I was looking forward to he vs Dos Santos. Now I wonder if they do Cain vs JDS? I dunno how I feel though because the winner would be #1 contender, but it risks killing off one of your bright young HW's. Just a bad situation. |

Yeah, I am training the next serial killer. My son has been in Capoeira for years and is into learning different styles. To me, I don't see how it is any worse than letting them watch boxing. I have several friends that started amateur boxing at 9 and 10 and were constantly training and watching the fights and they have turned out just fine.

My cousin has a 3 year old. We rough house with him, wrap him up and make him "tap out". It is hilarious. At least we thought so until his pre-school teacher called my cousin in a panic asked asked what "tap out" meant. Evidently he was sitting on his classmates and saying "tap out... TAP OUT!!!" Another time we had a game that was dealing with shapes. There were squares, triangles, and circles. Then we came across a hexagon. I thought this might have been a little advanced for him, so I explained this was a hexagon, and had 6 sides. He said matter-of-factly "No, Greg. That's an octagon." My cousin said he answered that because he lets him watch UFC. So I guess it all evens out.

Yeah both my daughter and son play Capoeira and they love it! I tried it and my body couldn't take it (actually I claimed old age, but it is an amazing exercise) and I love watching a Roda or a Batizado, it's just amazing with the talent this style produces.

Alexander danced for 7 minutes of the first ten, trying the Forrest Griffin legkick.. fatigue, slip and Kimbo rocked hihm a couple times. That really could have been a 10-8 round

Figured it would be fixed. How the fuck did Kimbo get Round 1? UFC is starting to lose some legitimacy with these crazy scores.

I dont know I can see giving rd 1 to Kimbo because it looked like he was pressing the fight while Houston 'ran'....then rd 2 went Kimbo's way and I can see rd. 3 going his way, barely too....

Two of the sherdog folks gave it to Slice, too.. so it's not as whacko as you think. Here's the scoring system: E. Judging Criteria 1. Judges are required to determine the winner of a bout that goes to it's full time limit based upon the following criteria: -Clean Strikes -Effective Grappling -Octagon Control -Effective Aggressiveness So, if Alexander just ran the whole round, he was ceding both Octagon Control and Effective Aggressiveness. But I was shocked that no one gave round 2 10-8 to Slice.. if that wasn't a 10-8 round, nothing is.. and that should put paid to any "favoring Kimbo" bullshit.

Are you kidding me? Just standing in the center of the ring means you were in control of the Octagon? At least Houston landed leg strikes. Kimbo didn't land a single strike. Quote:

I disagree on octagon control. Slice never once cut off Alexander. By his movement I think he actually controlled the octagon as he wasn't running from an attack at any point but rather his movement seemed to prevent any attack that round. I think he would have been better served to have thrown more leg kicks that first round at least. |

With that said, Alexander wasn't robbed at all as I think they split the first two rounds and that lst round could have gone either way. Alexander didn't deserve to win that fight. Even when he chopped Slice down with the leg kick he didn't even try to jump on the advantage right away.
