Me too. Thought it was great. As far as Bloodline goes, being from a f-cked up family myself, I see a lot reality in this show. The wife & I love it.

Just finished Stranger Things....really good. We couldn't stop watching.
So much 80s awesomeness as well. Even the credits, music, just a cool trip down memory lane. Only this is a memory you didn't remember. |

Watched the first 3 episodes of Stranger Things last night - agree with all the above, quality show and it really nailed the 80s theme, a few minor quibbles aside (was douchebag an insult in the 80s?).
Weirdest thing for me was thinking that when kids watch shows set in the 80s these days, it must feel like it did for me watching shows based in the 50s/60s when I was a kid...

I was on vacay when Season 3 dropped, so I was a bit sad I couldn't start on it, but there is going to be a lot of BoJack on my TV for the next few days!

Anyone watched Last Chance U - new Netflix docu-series? Only six episodes and I found them all very watchable. Follow the football season of a college playing in the JUCO league - East Mississippi CC through ups and downs, and really get to know some of the players as well. I was impressed.

The Invitation. Don't want to give it away, but it is unsettling all the way through. Even the opening minute subverts your expectation of this type of movie. Really well done, low budget, "thriller", if you can call it that. The group of friends are a bit insufferable, but I recommend it.

I watched the first two episodes of Tyrant last night, and really enjoyed it. Not sure how it's going to play out long-term, but basic premise is the son of a Middle Eastern dictator who has been living in the US with a wife and kids flies back home for the first time in 20 years, when all hell breaks loose. It doesn't hold back, that's for sure... Some real shocking scenes.

Goddammit I'm late to the "Maron" show. Holy shit that show has blown me away. I'm a few episodes in and it hits so many high points for me. I could totally binge watch it if I had the time.

It doesn't seem to review super well but I quite enjoy The Ranch. A good mix of comedy and more dramatic scenes, it reminds me a lot of Roseanne.

There are enough similarities and I guess I'm fucked up enough to realize that I need more of this kind of show in my life.

1 Episode in, a good starts. Not season 1 good, but better than season 2 good. Not sure that it's a show made for binging though, I think 2 in a sitting will be my limit. And time for a coffee refill and onto episode 2. |

Big fan of season 1 and 2. That being said, I think they ran out of creative steam for season 3. First 3 episodes are great, but things rapidly go down hill from there. Not that eps 4-6 are bad, theyre just not Black Mirror good. |

This for me too, despite saying 2 was my limit only 3 posts ago, we watched 3 tonight. Episode 3 was best of the bunch for me. Not as quirky and imaginative as Episode 1, but well done and mean spirited. |

I watched the first 4 episodes of Season 3 over the weekend.
Episode 3 was very well done and mean spirited. It was definitely taking the dark side of the internet - in various ways - to an extreme. Pretty stunning. Episode 1 was good, but just a little too on the nose. Episode 2 didn't really hold up in terms of a narrative. Episode 4 did hold up in terms of a narrative, but it just wasn't terribly compelling.

I watched this one last night, and have to agree. It was far from my favorite, maybe because it seemed pretty low-stakes so it failed to draw much of an emotional response from me.

I watched the final two Season 3 Black Mirror episodes.
I liked them both quite a bit. They were really different, but interesting. I was a bit on the fence with the last one, but in the end I quite liked it. They managed to tie in the tech/social media aspect while telling a pretty interesting and compelling story. The third episode - "Shut Up And Dance" - is still the best. It's definitely the one that lingers with you the longest. The "White Bear" of this season.

I watched the first 3 episodes of Black Mirror. I liked the first one - yeah, it was on the nose, but it had a 'twist' ending for Black Mirror, and that twist was a somewhat hopeful end note. The second one was quite a mindfuck, but ok rather than great. The third one was pretty horrifying -
Spoiler
I'm excited to watching Ep4 because all the critics are going crazy over it.

Ep. 2 seemed to go one twist too far for me... and the underlying meaning or moral was a little too heavy-handed for me.
Ep. 3 was really, really good. The reveal that happens adds even more meaning to

The main kid in Ep. 3 was the best acting of the entire series so far, for me.

Oh my, This is hilarious. James Vander Beek plays himself. The two women are opposites. Single in NYC. Hard edged woman and a softer woman. I am powering through the 2 seasons. It is awesome.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Black Mirror season 3, and agree with most here. Ep3, Ep1 and Ep2 is how I'd rank them. With episode 2, I enjoyed it but I feel the writers tried too hard with the ending. Just didn't work for me.

Man, Episode 4 of Black Mirror was fantastic!! I knew there would be a twist but I didn't particularly expect that. And it was a much much more hopeful look at technology than Black Mirror usually has and that was somewhat refreshing.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised at the episode as well. I wasn't expecting that either and before the reveal was thinking it was going down a different path. The soundtrack for the show was pretty well done as well, especially the last song. |

Yeah, Episode 4 of Black Mirror... wow. Amazing. Just sat in silence for a couple minutes after, feeling the feelings.
Episode 5 was not great, but it had a tough act to follow.

Yeah...just........yeah. I watched 4-6. -For me, episode 4 is maybe one of the best things I've even on television. I actually cried happy tears at the end. How the writer managed to get such depth of character in a less than one hour episode, I have no clue, but it was masterful. It was fun and quirky for the first half, and then just segued into really deep themes. There was love, death, sacrifice, grief...none of it seemed corny or forced, either. That damn Belinda Carlisle song was a perfect choice...and it's been stuck in my head for a week now. -I watched ep. 5 immediately afterward, and it fell flat by comparison. I need to watch it again. -I read somewhere that ep. 6 felt like straight sci-fi thriller. It was, but in a good way. My only qualm was with the villain/ending. I'm glad they didn't let the cat out of the bag too early. I would have been bored by 80 minutes of cat and mouse. I do feel the villain was underdeveloped, though. Why did he feel so strongly about society? Ah, well.....can't have it both ways. Very good episode. It felt like a blockbuster big budget feature. Any studio would be foolish not to send the show runner an offer.

I enjoyed episode 6 a lot as well. I finished up the season Friday and ranked as follows:
San Junipero - Just a great episode with a different twist and played with your emotions in a good way. That last song man....just well done. When I was younger and even a little today I guess, my idea of 'heaven' and if it exists and if we go there, is this place just for you of your own making with whoever you want to be with. A long lost love, family, etc. It really just hit some good nerves and emotions. Hated in the Nation - Great episode as well with a nice twist and played with the big brother aspect some. Shut Up and Dance - Good acting. and Bronn was in it. Nice little twist. Nosedive - Good as well. just not as good as the others. I dug the phoniness of people. Men Against Fire - I liked it. I really did. I got the message but the very last scene though confused me. I might need to watch it again and might move it ahead of Nosedive and Shut Up and Dance. So this could be 3. Playtest - Been there done that theme. The entire time I knew exactly what was going on and wasn't at all shocked with where they were going. They tried to force too many twists and it wasn't shocking at all. I like how bigger name actors/recognized actors are getting involved in this series too. Howard in Nosedive, Bronn (Jerome Flynn) from GoT in Shut up..., Michael Kelly from House of Cards in Men... and Kelly Macdonald in Hated. I might have missed some. |

The Fall
Stars Gillian Anderson. It is British. Anderson is a detective who believes there is a connection between a couple murders. There is. A serial killer is loose. This is a really good, really dark drama. 3 seasons. We are finishing season 2.

Its a drama that has experts pooping in and explaining what is going on during that time period and the characters involved, etc.

This is a difficult thread. I'm a guy looking for a new binge-watch show. I'm, just into season 3 of Orphan Black and looking or an off-ramp.
This thread, combined with outside input, have me thinking the answers are basically: -Black Mirror, start at the beginning -Narcos, start at the beginning -fend for yourself in the wilderness of Amazon and whatnot |

Narcos is great. I'm not sure how they'll transition to season three, but the first two seasons are excellent.
