SEC started with 3 Top-10, had several weeks of 4 Top 10, back down to 3 and currently at 4 again.

GA and AL are consistently in Top-10. The others are in-and-out, shows growing parity.

Now if we want to discuss A&M, clearly pollsters got that wrong.

As always (and like 2021), we'll settle this in the NC and in Bowls.

Maybe I should use another term then. I've rooted enthusiastically for Michigan my whole life, except for a few periods when I abstained from sports due to the negative effect it had on me when a favorite team of mine lost in terms of my personal mental health. I didn't have much choice - my father attended there. We were always the type that had an oversized flyswatter around the house that said 'For Buckeyes, Spartans, and other obnoxious pests'. There were two positives considered to ever come out of OSU - Archie Griffin and Jack Nicklaus, though we made an exception for Chris Spielman as well.

So I guess, I'm in whatever category that's not a fan but invested enough emotionally to get depressed during their bad times and fully cognizant that it's unhealthy and probably immoral for me to be as invested as I am. Whatever you call that.

We won't though. If Insert Favorite Conference Here does well in the bowls, it's because they're the best conference in the nation and all others are overrated. If they do poorly, it's because nobody cares about bowls that aren't in the playoffs and if they really tried they would have done better. Meanwhile the national champion will be taken to say everything about the strength of their conference or very little about it (sure, they won the title, but Team X would without the injuries they had, and btw the rest of their conference wasn't that good they were just one great team).

Hogs vs Tigers coming down to the wire at 27-29 with 3 min left. Hogs have 3 TO and have to stop them.

EDIT: got the ball back but not even close

Crazy how random things are. If the OSU/UM game were on Sunday there would be heavy rain and 30-40 mph winds. That would really hurt the Buckeyes.

Best stat of the night - Mike Norvell has more SEC wins than Jimbo Fisher this year.

I would be happy if Clemson somehow made the top 4 because then FSU would go to the Orange Bowl as the next-highest ranked ACC team.

I would say it is still 50/50. Auburn obviuosly felt they had Lane, hence the earlier report from someone inside the AD's office. And the latest report is both he and Freeze have negotriated contract porposals. I think Lane may be leveraging staying at Ole Miss for Auburn to give him something. And it is also possible Auburn is using Freeze to leverage Kiffin. If they actually hire Freeze, they are going to become a complete joke.

Lane Kiffin agrees to new contract to remain at Ole Miss

I am not even a Lane fan. I just love his commitment to being extremely messy. The fact that it is aimed at Hugh Freeze is a bonus.

Also, Auburn. Your leading candidates are Lane Kiffin and Hugh Freeze? Where were Art Briles and Urban Meyer on that list?

I wish this game wasn't at the same time as UGA-GT. I'm trying to watch both, but not getting much out of either.

Did Michigan just forget what was going on at the end of the half? That was just messy/ugly.

There have been games this season, like against Penn State, which could be a top-ten team, where Michigan has actually trailed in the second half, but looked like it should be up three touchdowns (they won 41-17).

This is the opposite. Two big touchdowns, very uncharacteristic. No ball-control. Losing both battles at the line. Giving up more yardage in one half than pretty much any game all year. Corum out, and the running game non-existent. When they sent in their fifth-string running back to pile into the line on 3rd-and-1, he had no chance.

They're lucky to be within 20 right now. Nothing's working, except those two passes. It's too bad the season comes down to this, because the players deserve better. I don't know what Harbaugh does to adjust. I suppose they'll blitz and risk big plays. But on offense, I don't know what they do. There was supposedly a whole quarterback option package they kept in reserve because they didn't need it. But with the offensive line losing the battle so badly, not sure that's a good idea.

What? GT can't manage to punt successfully?

Color me shocked.

Been a good effort overall -- maybe even enough to give Key the job -- but feels like it's just about over barring a very immediate miracle.

I don't either ... but he got 'em to show up. And that's more than a lotta guys might have managed.

I don't know if anybody is gonna make them relevant so maybe showing up is enough for the job.

I low key love that Michigan is running the offense I designed as a 7-year-old. Just throw long bombs for touchdowns

The offensive line looked very good on that opening drive of the third quarter. This is different. Still feel quite lucky to be in it. Bombs away is not sustainable and they will give up good field position here.

You see, Jim, this is the part of my offense that everyone misses. You have to throw long bombs for touchdowns.. Otherwise, you are not really running my offense :-)

I'll say this -- while the game is still in the balance -- I was dead wrong about Michigan today.

Without Corum (2 carries, 6 yards) I thought they had zero chance whatsoever.

Dead wrong.

They got lucky with the bombs in the first half, but the third quarter was their best effort all season. And a lot of that was simply the offensive line playing better. Hopefully, that continues. They need seven here.

Boil it down to the two true outcomes -- touchdown or not touchdown. I mean, you only need to be successful at most 33% of the time. Seems easy given college secondaries!

I think so. If Georgia wins SEC and Michigan wins BIG, UCLA or TCU don't win their conference, they are going to be looking for a 4th team. ACC basically disqualified itself, so that would leave it at what ... Alabama/OSU/Oregon/etc., spin the wheel until you find a team you like?

I'm suspicious enough of the committee that I think they would take Alabama in that case. So Ohio State would probably need both USC and TCU to lose.
