without downloading the file, I'm going to assume that my pitching carried this team. Was so not expecting this but glad we made it!

Congratulations to the playoff teams.

Do I get the 12th pick?

Yes it was my pitching, I wonder who DH'd for me since I don't have enough offensive players

So what's the trick on getting a player you pick up on the last attempt for free agency to start? I picked up 4.5 star RF T.Oliveira but he only played in 96 games.

You need to supply special instructions to Alan before the sim.

Pretty much what Kevin said. Here are the posted league rules on Opening day transactions:

Quote:
If you attempt to sign a free agent for the Friday night sim (the regular season sim) and wish for him to be placed on the major league roster for the regular season, you must leave an empty slot on the major league roster for them. If you end up not signing that player, you will end up playing with 24 players for that season instead of 25.
The commish is not allowed to promote players from AAA to the Major League Roster or demote players from the Major League roster during the Regular Season or Playoff sim for any team. Those transactions have to be performed by the individual manager and included in the file export for the sim. Exceptions are if additional players are signed during the sim without roster room, the commish will automatically demote those players.
I'm usually pretty happy to follow through whatever requests for changes to lineups/rotations/depth charts and even have a few player strategy changes at times as well. The only thing I can't/don't do on opening day is promote/demote players to or from AAA (with the exception of when a team is over the salary cap and I have to move someone down to get them compliant).

So feel free to send instructions, even detailed ones I don't mind.

It's not letting me open the connection to the FTP. I tried with another OOTP online league and it just worked...is it just me?

I was having an issue a bit ago myself (the html upload had choked), but it kind of appears to be going now, just a bit slow.

You might try manually downloading off of the webpage if you need to download now, or just hang on a bit until it is smoother connection later.

Here is my special instruction: Can we re-do the 1988 season so I can get Oliveira in my lineup?

With him as a starter I'm sure it would of put me in the playoffs - oh well. Lesson learned...

Got it and uploaded. Not a bad season...my #3 SP really let me down. Looking over my draft though the past few years not one of my guys is developing into anything special. I gotta figure out how to make these guys better...we can't just keep signing FA's.
