dola, i am also rather interested to see what the hell it takes for us to kill an avatar...in the first elementals game, in order to be killed, an elemental needed to be lynched twice...if avatars are stronger than elementals, we could have our work cut out for us.

I was going to vote hoopsguy in an effort to put that ridiculous streak of his to bed. But there's already too many guys with votes. So, here goes:

Hey I like the idea of ending hoops' streak. In fact I was going to vote for hoops when I asked for the vote count and chickened out.

Vote hoopsguy

Hopefully cronin comes back and sees this.

Well, I have a philosophy of not changing my day 1 vote unless there is some important info released, or if a tie needs breaking. So my vote will stand for now.

I was thinking of hoops, b/c I'm guessing folks wouldn't obviously align themselves against someone, on the first day, if they were doing something strategic.

But, usually hoops is pretty helpful as a villager, so I'm just going to pick randomly:

Vote claphamsa

I guess ending my streak is as good a reason to vote for me as any. Of course, the streak is predicated on me being a villager! So why would villagers want to end my streak of not dying as a villager?

If you think I'm a wolf/avatar, then vote for me. But to end my streak you have to vote for a villager/elemental. That will be the case here, but the rest of the villagers/elementals should probably have better reasons for voting other than this, right?

Right?

with 5 people on the board already as candidates, why would you pick someone entirely new? how does that help solve anything?

We've got a little more time before self-preservation mode kicks into play - I'm still hoping for something in the ballpark of a good reason to cast my vote.

For those who take notes on this type of thing, SnDvls cast his self-preservation vote on Pass instead of me. That would have more meaning if it were closer to the deadline, but at face value it suggests that they are not both Avatars. Otherwise, he would choose me rather than a teammate in a tie race that is starting to creep up on the deadline.

Dola - I'll go and track down the vote post numbers.

Just as an aside, how many people actually go back and reference old votes in terms of actually reading the posts? I'm wondering if this is something that I'm doing more for my own benefit, or if other people are doing the same type of post-dredging that I do later in games. Mostly, I'm curious to see if others are willing to admit to wasting as much time with over-analysis as I do with these games

Hoops, I use vote analysis pretty heavily in most of my games, although I don't always post what I see (since I'm tired of being told "votes don't mean a thing"). I don't look at what is said as much as I look at what the actual votes are, though.

Just for the record, as someone who initially voted for Swaggs, why are you now campaigning for people to vote for me?

If it is random, then why do you care where the vote ends up? If it isn't random, I don't have many explanations for it that would look good for you.

By the way, what is the sign for today? Yak, Trout, Squid, or Rhino?

Or does that fun begin on Day 2?

File this under "How the hell has this question not been asked yet?"

i like to have the numbers because i like to see the order in which the votes were cast. for example, there is alot more meaning, imo, when someone votes for a brand new person at the end of the day, basically making a total throwaway when there is a 3 way tie going on, than there is to someone making a random selection at the beginning of the day.

Dola. I have no idea why to vote for you other than the fact that you are better at WW than me (as is everyone else), so I would be a tiny bit less afraid of being dominated if your weren't around.

But I like you as a person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll fess up to doing just that. I don't take notes as well as I'd like, so oftentimes end up doing post recaps on people I find suspicious.

That's the point: If he's good, then Cal Ripken has finally been benched. Its a win-win.

Well, only if you have different definitions of win than I do.

Win = getting a bad guy
Secondary Win = learning something from the vote by applying pressure to people that helps with later votes
Loss = losing a good guy
Tragic Loss = me dying as a villager, particularly to a Day 1 drive-by-shooting
