You should be able to be the same guy after you rename him, I think.

The whole RP server thing makes me wonder if we'll be asked to switch the guild name (there being few front offices in Azeroth and all). Maybe we can claim goblin backing.

We have no rogues? Maybe I'll start a BE Rogue, instead...

Does anyone know how this game plays on an average computer?
I have 1.4G processor, 512 RAM, decent video card. EQ2 doesn't run great on my computer, just wondering how WoW would run.

Once I get the expansion, there's a decent chance of me bringing up a Blood Elf Paladin as well.

Leveled one to 5, but it looks like the Paladin populations is well represented in FOFC.

The way this patching works sucks. They should just a have link I can get it from on their homepage.

There is nothing more frustrating. I have about 30 minutes before I need to head out to work. Let's play a little WoW. WHAT!?!?!?! I have to spend that time downloading a patch? Bastages!

Actually if you go to the Technical Support forum there will usually be a few mirror sites posted because of all the problems people have downloading. I don't know why this takes so long to download from Blizzard though.

The funny thing is, I waited to get the patch only to get on and find out that all of the servers are down for maintenance from 0600-1400 today.

I am reading the WoW boards over at Blizzard and I am seeing comments like "There are 2 70lvl Mages on my server, but the highest Hunter ia only at 65lvl."

Is there some where you can look at all of the characters on your server? Or are they just seeing these guys in passing while playing?

I'll see if I can find the site. I remember being on a site a while back that had that kind of information. If there is a way in game, that I do not know of.

He was probably doing a /who mage 65-70 in game to see all of the mages online on your server in that level range. Works fine as long as you return fewer than 49 characters from your search.

Warcraftrealms also has some broad information about server populations, although it's not always very up to date.

Opinions on processor and video card specs for WoW have always been pretty much all over the place, but everyone consistently reports that having as much RAM as you possibly can is a good thing.

When I started playing WoW, I had 512 RAM, and I noticed a significant improvement when I moved to 1 GB. If you have the means, I'd upgrade that first.

I think you'll be OK with the processor, and as for the video card, I'd google for advice or hints on WoW graphical options to see what you can tone down to get good performance from the video card.

Well, I got on last night and was not prompted to change Drdeath to another name. Don't know what to do- leave it and hope or contact someone on wow.com and ask what to do (can't get to wow website at work to check)?

You should be fine with processor, but like flere said, RAM probably affects performance the most. You can easily change video card settings to fit with the card you have, unless you are picky about how the game looks (then you would want a better card) But more RAM is always better.

This patch sucks. Blizzard's downloader sucks. I've been downloading it for 1 hour and 45 minutes, and I'm only at 87%. ARGH.

A red Orc!! Ahhhh!

One of my pet-peeved misspelled words. I'm not picking on you or giving you shit because it made me giggle. One of the funnier posts I can remember was somebody on a Wizardry 8 board snapping after one too many rogue/rouge confusion and went off on somebody before concluding with a "rogue is a bad person while rouge is just a bad colour."

Guys, I'm thinking about starting this back up in my offtime and wondering whether the guild needs a Paladin or a Warlock (two preferences). I'm leaning towards the Blood Elf Paladin with the new expansion.

We've actually got 4 paladins in the guild, but just 1 shaman, 2 rogues, and 1 druid. Two locks.

Have multiple people you know report your name and you might have a shot. Of course, you wont get to choose the new name.

What server did you guys end up on? I used to be a CL in the top Horde guild on my server, but my play time dwindled and I havent played in several months now. Was debating whether or not to get the expansion, I have very little time to play. How do you guys like it?

That is true, but I am sure you will find that on any server now...give it a few weeks and I am sure it will die down a bit. It is slowly getting better. It will get better once we get out of the Silvermoon area, heh.

How do I make it so that I can see map coordinates? I have seen them referenced on some sites. I took a brief look through the options this morning and didn't see anything off hand, but I could have missed something.

I am assuming it is a mod.

Speaking of mods. Are there any essential mods I should get?

Anyone up for Ragefire Chasm tonight? I could bring either my Warlock or my Priest.

I'd do Wailing Caverns, but I'm a bit underlevelled (both 14 now).
