Shows how ridiculous it is that it took until one of those "etc" movies for him to finally win an Oscar.

Is it too late to flip flop roles? I believe Wells may have been a better choice at director and Spielberg may have been a better choice at producer.

These roles in a lot of ways are interchangable. Its hard to be good at one without being good at the other. After reading more about Wells I liked Spielbergs financial backing much than Wells so it made me want to switch.

I actually had to read over the picks already taken 3 times, just to make sure he really wasn't already taken.

Many of those are great movies, but I wouldn't call them hits. Casino made $42 million (off of a $52 million budget). Goodfellas $46 million. He only has two movies (about to have his third) go over $100 million.

I think he's a great choice, but just not sure how he fits your moneymaking philosophy.

Did he send a pick? This is getting a little annoying. I think the time restraints need to be looked into.

Maybe because he chose non-golden age picks, but so far i am most impressed with jbergey22. However, i think mustang has potential to make a very interesting ensemble.

i think the "john ford question" is going to be a major factor. so many of the golden age people are known personalities, but their work and importance is not well known. there are also quite a few personality picks, i think several people are known stars but their overall film credits and importance is fairly weak...imo

The vote of confidence is appreciated.

I do have name value but I think I messed up slightly with Wells as I should have made him a director. Also, like you mentioned the later I wait on filling in my "Golden Age" picks the worse it is going to get. The supply is limited so the people that are picking them now will get some nice picks later.

And I agree that these delays are frustrating.

Gotta give props to jbergey for the De Niro pick. Didn't think he would last much longer after people started talking about Casino and Goodfellas.
