Yeah the whole villager checking in thing started small, then got bigger, and the first time people started accusing someone because he didn't "check in" became semi-mandatory.

I did it for my first few games, but stopped doing it. I haven't been a wolf in about 10 games or so, so it was never an issue to stop.

I have never checked in ever. It's dumb. If by checking in you mean "Villager Here" statement at the beginning.

Hmm, didn't even notice that. I'm not opposed to lynching someone inactive on day one, but if EF was a wolf and knew about it, he would be posting a fair amount.

PurdueBrad is led to the center of town, where a crude guillotine has been erected.

As his head is fastened in, he struggles mightily and begins frothing at the mouth.

"YOU'RE DEAD! YOU'RE ALL DEAD!!"

Chop.

Nice! PB with an early vote on Abe and didn't fight his lynching at all with Abe as the other vote getter. Maybe PB was trying to send a signal to Abe and didn't want to fight his lynch since a wolf was the other option?

Or did he make sure to put his vote on a non wolf?

I have forgotten the details of the sorcerer role. Did the wolves know his identity?

The role doesn't say, but generally wolves don't know the identity of the sorcerer, so as far as the wolves knew, PB was a villager. So even though the result was good, this doesn't clear Abe, Kwhit or I at all.

At least in the game I have played in, has anyone played in a game where the sorcerer knew the wolves and the wolves knew the sorcerer too?

From the rules:

Vampire Mistress - You were once a beautiful, cunning, young woman, and you've lost none of these traits in your transformation. If viewed by the seer at night, you will interfere with her vision and be seen as having a light aura. Each night you confer with the other vampires to decide on a victim.

Ergo, if that role is in the game, no one can be sure of a scan. The role might not even be IN the game, and we can;t be sure.

Based on the numbers, it probably is. I think Jackal had to go 3 wolves with the rolled one or 4 with two non rolled wolves. The 3 wolves with a cunning seems more likely.

is there a WW resoruce anywhere on the net where it does the math for you? If you have x player sthen you should have y wolves, or anything like that?

It's a standard sorceror role. Wolves do not know the identity prior to the game.

I disagree. I think that the votes today put Abe in a slightly more trustworthy position than anyone else. Slightly.

Since the 2nd vote for him came really early in the day, PB had plenty of time to move his vote off of Abe if he were a wolf.

So I think the seer would have a slightly better chance of getting a wolf if he scanned someone else tonight.

Then again, it could be one of those rare situations when we have 2 bad guys as leading vote getters on day one and I could be totally wrong.

I'm just going based on my experience, but 4 wolves and a sorcerer is overboard. You go 2 days without lynching a baddie and all of a sudden it's a 5-5 game. That's too extreme.

Sorry, have been sleeping most of the day (worked overnight last night) and actually forgot the game was starting today. Sort of a good day one result, but not really. It removes the confusion factor but it still counts against our numbers.

Basing ths on my play when I had that role before I would scan Abe tonight, whoever the seer is. Completely vanilla here. When I had that role I did a quick vote for a wolf on day one to try to get their attention (kind of an "I know who you are" vote). I also tried to reference another wolf within a post (not accusing, just mention to again try to convey that I knew who they were if they picked up on it).

Sorry that I missed the deadline. As for who I would have vote for, PB is usually my day one fallback and based on his vote today I don't see any reason why I would have changed that (though I was actually thinking of voting someone else to give him a break prior to the game starting).

I do see Kwhit's point, but I don't understand why PB wouldn't have fought his lynch at all unless he was going up against a wolf.
