I will say.. I just watched the Vegas opening ceremony and I'm not going to lie.. it's freaking cool. They really have a venue for a complete experience with the "Let's get ready to rumble" guy and this Criss Angel and Lil Jon cranking up the siren.

Added to my bucket list.

Give them two subpar seasons in a row and it will look like a Coyotes game, empty.

Won't happen just because of the constant tourism. There were game this season where the crowd was 50/50.

Brooks Orpik scored what turned out to be the game winning goal last night. His last goal before that was in 2016, before Vegas was awarded a team.

Coyotes attendance was solid until the bankruptcy. Now they're desperately trying to find a new arena every year. That lack of stability is likely the biggest factor.

I lived long enough to finally see the Caps win a game in the SCF and Brooks Orpik was the guy to score the game winner. I have no idea how that's even possible, but I'm really enjoying the ride and already have my flight, hotel, and ticket for game 5 in Vegas.

I love the Stanley Cup playoffs. What a game tonight! Oshie is one of my favorite players and he did not disappoint! Guy is a freaking beast out there!!!

Still have no idea why the Blues traded him.

Getting Oshie in no way makes up for my anger every time I see Filip Forsberg stats.

I always forget he was a Capital before being traded to Nashville.

Sure, I finally jump on the Vegas wagon and now they fall apart. Come on Knights, beat those chumps.

Glad the PP goal on the Ovechkin dive didn't end up being the defining moment of the game.

Nice goal to make it 3-2. The Capitals return to their punk form afterwards.

Stay classy Ovie, top notch pre-game stuff alright.

An ACL would be fitting karma.

Let's not forget, though, that in order to keep the Caps from blowing it, the NHL had to create an entirely new team for them to beat.

Why? Because I called Ovie out for acting like a little bitch? You think I wished harsh stuff on him, you oughta hear me when I see Cindy Crosby's antics. You'd be sooooo triggered, bless your heart.

But hey, you're one of the serious wing nuts here so I'm sure your unprovoked attack will go unnoticed. 's okay, I just laugh at this point. That's what people do with jokes after all.

So go ahead keyboard warrior, have your brief moment in the sun. I got a giggle out of it, so you might as well get something too, trade at its ... well, can't really say "finest" but whatever.

Thing is though, deep down, you know the truth.

You're irrelevant to me.
You're irrelevant on this board.
You're irrelevant on this planet.

You're not even the last draft pick, you're the undrafted free agent that nobody actually wants or needs except as cannon fodder for a seven cents for a few weeks. When they print up the team alumni list, people look at your name and think "who?"

And you get to live with that every minute of your life ... while I'll simply fire up another smoke, enjoy my next cup of coffee ...and laugh at you.

Pleasant dreams.

Congrats to Ovie and the Caps! Nice to see him win one. TJ Oshie seems cool.

To the clowns in the posts above, stay classy.

Glad to see the Caps win. D.C. is a great sports city relative to the success it has had. And it always seems fitting when a great player finally gets that championship.

Yay Caps!

Some of the above seems appropriately thematic. It wouldn't be a real hockey thread without a few fights.

I didn't see that, but I just watched him talking to the media about it. Thank you.
