Alright, so Kuji Chagulia is going to Louisville, Zinto is still trying to decide between BYU, Oklahoma, and Arizona State, and I haven't heard from sirfozzie yet, so hopefully I get a response from him soon.
However, you guys have about a week to mull things over, because I'm heading out of town and won't be back until next Wednesday night, very late, so this is on hiatus for a few days. Hopefully when I get back I can move coaches and get the next season going. coffeewarlord, I was shocked that Colorado had such a high recruiting rating. Hopefully this means they will be able to compete in the Big 12 now. |

So 3 coaches moved.
Alex Donovan (sirfozzie) is now at Boston College. Kuji Chagulia (bbgunn) is now at Louisville. Patrick Hutt (Zinto) is now at UCLA. Let's look at the recruiting ratings for those 3 schools. BC had the 41st overall recruiting class, and 6th in the ACC. Louisville had the 101st overall recruiting class, good for 12th in a very tough Big East! UCLA had the 2nd overall recruiting class, good for 2nd in the Pac Ten. Stanford had the top class. 2013-2014 FOFC Coach Hotseat Ratings David Ginsberg (Hartford) -- Average seat, goal is to avoid last place in America East. 2013 Season Tournaments
Boston College will be the top seed in the 2013 Anaheim Invitational and will open it up with 8th seed Rider. Hawaii is also in the 2013 Anaheim Invitational as the 7th seed, they'll open up with 2nd seed Tulsa. Oregon State is the 14th seed in the 16 team 2013 Coaches Invitational. They'll open up against 3rd seed Maryland. Davidson is the 3rd seed in the 2013 Orlando Classic. They'll open it up against 6th seed Bowling Green. UCLA is the 2nd seed in the 2013 Preseason NIT, starting out against 15th seed UC Irvine. Louisville is the 4th seed in the 2013 Preseason NIT and will open it up against 13th seed Cleveland State. And to round it off, Illinois State is the 10th seed in the 2013 Preseason NIT and will open it up against 7th seed Western Kentucky. UTEP is the 4th seed in the 2013 San Juan Classic, opening it up against 5th seed LSU. Wright State is the top seed in the 4 team 2013 Tennessee Challenge, opening it up against 4th seed Chicago State. Evansville is the 2nd seed in the 4 team 2013 Tennessee Challenge (all these frikkin tournaments to choose from and FBCB keeps putting multiple human coaches in the same tournament!) and will open it up against 3rd seed Georgia Southern. Iowa is the 2nd seed in the 2013 Top of the Globe Invitational, and will open up against 7th seed Georgia State. Would you like to guess what tournament Colorado is going to? Yep, you guessed it, the 2013 Top of the Globe Invitational, as the 4th seed. They'll open it up against 5th seed South Florida. 12 of our 18 teams in a postseason tournament, but damn FBCB for putting multiple teams in tournaments. With 18 teams, and way more tournaments than that, they could easily limit us to 1 human team a tournament. |

2013 Season Tournament Wrap-Up
2013 Anaheim Invitational Boston College beat (8) Rider 93-72 in the First Round, then hammered (4) Southern Illinois 87-59 in the Semifinals, and dismantled (2) Tulsa 90-58 in the Championship. Congrats to Alex Donovan who is starting off his time at BC in big fashion. Hawaii lost 66-50 to (2) Tulsa in the First Round, then beat (6) DePaul 82-80 in overtime in the consolation round, then beat (5) UMass 66-58 in the 5th Place Game. 2013 Coaches Invitational Oregon State stunned (3) Maryland 64-56 in the First Round, then lost in the Quarterfinals 83-65 to (6) Utah. 2013 Orlando Classic Davidson beat (6) Bowling Green 83-60 in the First Round, then lost 70-64 in overtime in the Semifinals, then recovered to hammer (4) Manhattan 91-59 in the 3rd place game. 2013 Preseason NIT UCLA beat (15) UC Irvine 89-54 in the First Round, then beat (10) Illinois State 63-57 in the Quarterfinals, then beat (3) Memphis 65-49 in the Semifinals, and became the second team to win a 2013 season tournament by hanging on to beat (1) Duke 65-60 in the Championship. Amazing, 2 of the coaches that jumped to a new school in the offseason, have already won tournament titles in their first season. Louisville ran all over (13) Cleveland State 95-77 in the First Round, then lost 80-69 to (5) Dayton in the Quarterfinals. Illinois State beat (7) Western Kentucky 84-67 in the First Round, then lost to (2) UCLA 63-57 in the Quarterfinals. 2013 San Juan Classic UTEP beat (5) LSU 71-63 in the First Round, then lost to (1) Xavier 77-63 in the Semifinals, but rallied to beat (6) Wyoming 85-79 in the 3rd place game. 2013 Tennessee Challenge Wright State beat (4) Chicago State 68-63 in the First Round, while Evansville beat (3) Georgia Southern 72-70 in the First Round. In the Championship, Wright State beat Evansville 82-67 becoming our third team to win a 2013 season tournament. The good thing about this is that no matter who won, it was going to be an FOFC coached team. 2013 Top of the Globe Invitational Iowa beat (7) Georgia State 68-56 in the First Round, then hammered (6) TCU 72-54 in the Semifinals. Colorado beat (5) South Florida 72-54 in the First Round, then stunned (1) Florida State 64-51 in the Semifinals. In the Championship, Iowa beat Colorado 81-73. Not bad at all, as 4 FOFC coached teams win 2013 season tournaments, although 2 of them are a little bittersweet as they came at the hands of other FOFC coached teams. |

Let's take a look at how our FOFC teams have fared through December 30, 2013.
Hartford (David Ginsberg) -- 3-10, 1-0 America East. It's been a rough go of it for the Hawks so far. Although they did have a nice win at LaSalle and they have won 2 in a row, including a conference opening win at New Hampshire. Maine (Cillian O'Reilly) -- 3-9, 1-0 America East. The Black Bears also won their conference opener over Boston University. Their only other wins are against Princeton and a winless Youngstown State. They did play tough against UTEP, Niagara, and St. Johns and UMass, so there is hope. Boston College (Alex Donovan) -- 10-1, 0-0 ACC. The Anaheim Invitational games are some of the toughest games the Eagles have played as far as opponents records go. They did win at Florida who is 8-4. Their only blemish so far is a 12 point loss at a top 10 Michigan State team. Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 5-5, 0-0 Big 12. It's been a crazy year so far for the Buffaloes, who have beaten the likes of Florida State, Alabama, and Utah, yet lost to the likes of Northern Colorado, Weber State, and New Mexico State. I think Coach Nielsen would tell you they would take a .500 record throughout the season though. Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) -- 7-2, 0-0 Big East. The Cardinals have beaten some very good teams such as North Carolina, Arizona, and Purdue, who have a combined 7 losses between them. However, their most recent loss, a 31 point loss to undefeated Kansas, has coach Chagulia wondering if they are ready to compete with all the big boys. High Point (Roy Rogers) -- 3-9, 1-1 Big South. The Panthers have split their first 2 conference games, and their marquee win so far is a 24 point win at Ohio. Fortunately, the Big South is not an extremely tough conference, so finishing at or above .500 is very doable. Iowa (Ernesto Lopez) -- 8-4, 0-1 Big Ten. The Hawkeyes are an improved team over last season, with wins over Colorado, TCU, Marquette, and Texas Tech. They lost their conference opener though in what appears to be a fairly tough Big Ten this season. Cal Poly (DeShawn St. John) -- 0-12, 0-0 Big West. The pressure is mounting for the Mustangs and Coach St. John, but to their credit they have played some good teams tough, losing by 1 to St. Marys, 10 to UTEP, 13 to Calf, and 1 to San Francisco. The Big West could be a savior for them. UTEP (Jeeber Mack) -- 7-6, 0-0 C-USA. The Miners toughest game thus far was the 14 point loss to Xavier. They've beaten Kansas State and Wyoming twice, and also got a nice win against LSU. The inexplicable losses to IUPUI and Monmouth to start the season did not make the Mack man happy though. Wright State (Shane Korme) -- 6-5, 1-1 Horizon. It's been up and down for the Raiders so far, who won their first 4, then lost 4 in a row, and have now won 2 of their last 3, including a split to open conference play. On their 4 game winning streak to start their season, their last 2 were against South Carolina and Utah State. Evansville (Ekeje Bafou) -- 5-7, 1-0 MVC. The Aces have definitely been battle tested, already playing 4 teams that are currently or have been ranked in the AP Top 25. Among those are a 9 point loss to Kentucky, a 9 point loss to West Virginia, and a 2 point loss to Wake Forest. Unfortunately, that 48 point loss to Michigan State is what has Ekeje steaming the most about, but the conference opening win has definitely helped his mood. Illinois State (Timmy Tribble) -- 4-7, 0-1 MVC. Don't look at that 4-7 record and say this is a team that can't compete. The Redbirds have played UCLA, Xavier, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Minnesota, St. Louis, and Clemson in their non-conference schedule. The combined record of those teams? 65-12. They are another MVC team that is battle tested, even if they did lose their MVC opener. Bryant (Score Galore) -- 1-10, 0-0 Northeast. The lone win for the Bulldogs is a home win against the Hurricanes of Miami. Unfortunately that has been their only highlight of the season so far, as all but 3 of their losses have been by 15 points or more. Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- 6-5, 0-0 Northeast. The Hawks have some quality wins over UTEP and VCU, but a loss to Delaware State is definitely going to hurt when it comes time for Selection Sunday. UCLA (Patrick Hutt) -- 10-1, 0-0 Pac Ten. The Bruins would be perfect right now if not for an upset home loss to Seton Hall in which they shots just didn't fall. Granted, Memphis, Duke, and Gonzaga have been the toughest 3 on the non-conference schedule, and the Pac Ten is loaded. So we'll have to wait and see how things shake out. Davidson (Randolph Childress) -- 6-6, 0-0 Southern. It's been a tougher ride for the Wildcats so far this season, as they really beefed up the non-conference schedule, losing to North Carolina, Wake Forest, Duke, Tennessee, and Alabama. That should help them come tourney time though, as I see no reason why they won't walk through the Southern Conference again. Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 7-4, 0-0 WAC. The Warriors have won 4 in a row, including a home win against UNC Wilmington wh has an RPI of 25 right now. The loss to Cleveland State hurts, but coach Gunn should have his team ready for WAC play. Oregon State (Jawouk Bafou) -- 6-4, 0-0 WAC. The season opening win at Maryland was huge, and go figure, the Beavers also beat their in-state rival Oregon in convincing fashion. They've also travelled to both Washington and Washington State, losing both. With the demotion, it'll be a new challenge for them in the WAC. Code:

Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 7-5, 0-0 Big 12. Good week for the Buffaloes as they won 2 non-conference home games. First 87-79 against Colorado St. then 75-54 against South Dakota. Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) -- 8-3, 0-0 Big East. The Cardinals split a pair of home non-conference games this week, getting blasted 86-58 by Washington St. then beating Texas 88-80. High Point (Roy Rogers) -- 4-10, 2-1 Big South. A split this week for the Panthers, who lost a non-conference game at South Carolina St. 96-90 in overtime, then returned to conference play by hosting and beating Radford 72-49. Iowa (Ernesto Lopez) -- 10-4, 2-1 Big Ten. The Hawkeyes won both their games this week, travelling to Northwestern and winning 75-56, then hosting Illinois and winning 61-50. It is definitely a different feel to this season, as the Wildcats dropped their first 2 conference games this week, both at home. The Warriors split 2 games this week, losing 84-75 at UMKC then returning home to beat Rhode Island 79-67. Oregon State (Jawouk Bafou) -- 7-5, 0-0 WAC. The Black Bears split this week, losing 64-50 at Stony Brook then hosting Binghamton and winning 64-49. Boston College (Alex Donovan) -- 13-1, 0-0 ACC. Only 1 game this week for the Eagles, a 74-63 home win against Rhode Island. Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 7-7, 0-1 Big 12. The Buffaloes are into the really stiff part of their schedule, losing 99-78 at Xavier, then opening up Big 12 play with a 58-42 loss at Iowa St. Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) -- 10-3, 2-0 Big East. Good start to conference play for the Cardinals, who this week won 71-56 at St. Johns then won 92-73 at Seton Hall. High Point (Roy Rogers) -- 6-10, 4-1 Big South. 2 home wins this week for the Panthers, as they beat VMI 84-76 then beat Liberty 65-59. Iowa (Ernesto Lopez) -- 11-5, 3-2 Big 10. A road split this week for the Hawkeyes, who won 73-42 at Ohio St. before losing 83-68 at Wisconsin. Cal Poly (DeShawn St. John) -- 1-14, 1-1 Big West. The Miners had just 1 game this week, and it was much tougher than it should have been, as they travelled to a 1 win South Dakota team and only won 61-57. Wright State (Shane Korme) -- 9-6, 4-2 Horizon. A home split this week for the Raiders, as they lost 71-62 to Illinois-Chicago, then hammered Loyola-IL 85-55. Evansville (Ekeje Bafou) -- 5-11, 1-4 MVC. 2 tough, tough losses this week for the Aces, both on the road, by a combined 4 points. First a 67-64 loss at Indiana St., then a 72-71 loss at Drake. Illinois State (Timmy Tribble) -- 7-8, 3-2 MVC. A split this week for the Redbirds, both on the road. First an 88-80 overtime loss at Drake, then a 70-63 overtime win at Indiana St. Bryant (Score Galore) -- 3-12, 2-2 Northeast. A split this week for the Bulldogs, who hosted St. Francis-NY and lost 61-52, then won 64-56 at Robert Morris. Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) -- 8-7, 2-2 Northeast. First a 71-59 win over Wagner, then a 70-68 win over Robert Morris. UCLA (Patrick Hutt) -- 18-9, 7-7 6th Pac 10. A road split this week for the Bruins, as they went out of conference and lost 77-58 at Utah, then returned to conference play winning 79-66 at USC. Davidson (Randolph Childress) -- 18-10, 12-4 2nd in South Division of Southern. A home split this week for the Wildcats, as they suffered an embarrassing 82-56 blowout loss to Chattanooga, but recovered to blow out Western Carolina 75-46. Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 13-13, 5-7 5th WAC. Just 1 game this week for the Warriors, and it was a big one, as they hosted a nationally ranked Nevada team and beat them 66-58. Oregon State (Jawouk Bafou) -- 12-14, 5-8 6th WAC. The Beavers lost twice this week. First a 90-88 loss at San Jose St., then they returned home and lost 77-61 to Fresno St. Code:

Not a surprise that Davidson lost their votes after another split this week. I'm a little surprised Monmouth or Wright St. didn't get a couple mid-major votes though. As we go to the Overall Bubble Watch, we still have a team there: Code:

The Black Bears also won their conference game this week, at home against UMBC, where they won 60-52. They'll be the 4th seed in the America East Tourney and will take on (5) Albany. Before that, they end the regular season with a non-conference game at Robert Morris. Boston College (Alex Donovan) -- 21-7, 8-6 T-4th ACC. The Eagles split this week. First a home loss to Miami 82-72, then a 71-67 win at N.C. State. Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 12-16, 5-9 10th Big 12. A big week for the Buffaloes, as they won 68-59 at Texas Tech, then returned home to upset Iowa St. 58-47. Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) -- 21-6, 13-3 T-2nd Big East. The Cardinals split this week, dropping a tough one 78-73 at Cincinnati, then returning home and beating Marquette 67-64. High Point (Roy Rogers) -- 13-16, 11-7 T-3rd Big South. The Panthers didn't finish they way they wanted to, finishing the regular season on a 5 game losing streak after losing 2 home games this week. First a 69-60 loss to Gardner Webb, then a 78-62 loss to UNC Asheville. They'll be the 3rd seed in the Big South Tourney and open up against (6) Coastal Carolina. Iowa (Ernesto Lopez) -- 14-15, 6-11 8th Big 10. The Hawkeyes continue to struggle, splitting this week. First they won 73-63 at Purdue, then returned home and lost 60-53 to Penn St.. Cal Poly (DeShawn St. John) -- 6-21, 6-8 6th Big West. The Mustangs had a tough loss this week in their only game, losing 60-56 at UC Riverside. UTEP (Jeeber Mack) -- 14-14, 6-8 8th C-USA. A split this week for the Miners, as they lost 47-37 at Southern Miss, then returned home and beat ECU 60-46. Wright State (Shane Korme) -- 17-12, 10-8 5th Horizon. The Raiders certainly didn't finish the regular season the way they wanted to, as they got pounded in 2 road games. First an 80-58 loss at Valpo, then a 95-56 loss at ranked Butler. We've got some teams in conference tournaments this week, so first we'll go over them. America East Tournament Hartford (David Ginsberg) lost in the Quarterfinals to (6) Boston U 88-78. With a 12-18 record, their season is over. Maine (Cillian O'Reilly) won a non-conference game 74-38 at Robert Morris before being hammered in the Quarterfinals of the conference tournament 75-33 by (5) Albany. Their 13-17 record won't be enough to see postseason play. Big South Tournament High Point (Roy Rogers) had a good run in the tourney, beating (6) Coastal Carolina 85-82 in the Quarterfinals, then beating (7) Presbyterian 67-44 in the Semifinals, before falling short 76-67 against (1) Winthrop in the Championship Game. Unfortunately, that won't be good enough, as their 15-17 record won't extend their season. Horizon Tournament Wright State (Shane Korme) now has a 3 game losing streak after getting hammered 82-47 by (8) Youngstown St. in the First Round. Their 17-13 record should be good enough to get them into the CBI or CIT. MVC Tournament Evansville (Ekeje Bafou) beat (7) Bradley 80-73 in the Play-in Round, then shocked (2) Creighton 71-68 in the Quarterfinals before falling 73-48 to (6) Northern Iowa in the Semifinals. A good run for the Aces, but that 11-21 record means their season is over. Illinois State (Timmy Tribble) hosted Hofstra in a non-conference game before the tournament, beating them 60-44. Then in the MVC Tournament, they beat (4) Wichita St. 67-56 in the Quarterfinals, then shocked (1) Missouri St. 74-64 in the Semifinals, before falling to (6) Northern Iowa 66-58 in the Championship Game. At 16-16, they have very, very dim hopes of making a postseason tournament. Possibly the CIT or CBI, but unlikely. Northeast Tournament Bryant (Score Galore) hammered (1) Sacred Heart 71-54 in the Quarterfinals before falling 75-69 to (5) Central Connecticut State. At 9-22, their season is over. Monmouth (Thomas Carrano) laid an egg, losing 59-50 to (5) Central Connecticut State in the Quarterfinals. They hold out hope that an 18-12 record will get them into the NIT, but I bet they drop to the CBI. Southern Tournament Davidson (Randolph Childress) hammered (10) Western Carolina 75-54 in the Quarterfinals, then beat (11) UNC Greensboro 66-56 in the Semifinals. Next week they face off against (1) College of Charleston in the Championship Game. That covers it for all the conference tournaments this week, now for the other teams: Boston College (Kuji Chagulia) -- 22-8, 9-7 T-3rd ACC. The Eagles split 2 home games this week, losing 59-56 to Florida St., then getting by Wake Forest 68-64. They'll be the 3rd seed in the ACC Tourney and get a bye into the Quarterfinals where they will take on the winner of (11) Virginia Tech/(6) Florida St. Colorado (Rob Nielsen) -- 13-17, 6-10 T-9th Big 12. The Buffaloes split this week, winning 65-61 at Missouri, then returning home to get hammered 82-49 by Kansas. They'll be the 10th seed in the Big 12 Tourney, opening up against (7) Oklahoma. Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) -- 22-7, 14-4 T-2nd Big East. The Cardinals split this week, losing at home against Seton Hall 78-70, then travelling to Syracuse and winning 89-85 in OT. They'll get the 2nd seed in the Big East Tourney and get a double bye straight into the Quarterfinals (remember this is the weird and wacky 16 team Big East bracket) where their opponent will either be (15) Rutgers, (10) Cincinnati, or (7) UConn. Iowa (Ernesto Lopez) -- 14-16, 6-12 8th Big 10. 1 game this week for the Hawkeyes, a 64-46 home loss to Indiana. They'll be the 8th seed in the Big 10 Tourney, opening up the First Round against (9) Penn St. Cal Poly (DeShawn St. John) -- 7-22, 7-9 6th Big West. The Mustangs split 2 games this week, first winning 71-57 at Cal St. Fullerton then returning home and losing 71-62 to Cal St. Northridge. They'll be the 6th seed in the Big West Tourney, opening up in the First Round against (7) UC Davis. UTEP (Jeeber Mack) -- 16-14, 8-8 T-7th C-USA. The Miners finished off the regular season on a good note with 2 home wins. First a 68-50 win over Tulane, then a 69-54 win over Rice. They'll be the 8th seed in the C-USA Tourney and will open up in the First Round against (9) Tulane. UCLA (Patrick Hutt) -- 19-12, 8-10 T-6th Pac 10. 2 home losses this week for the Bruins, who got hammered 77-52 by Stanford, then lost 83-80 to Cal. They'll be the 6th seed in the Pac 10 Tourney and will open up in the Quarterfinals against (3) Utah St. Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) -- 16-14, 8-8 4th WAC. The Warriors split this week, winning 73-68 at Idaho, then returning home to have their 6 game win streak end at the hands of New Mexico St., 62-52. They'll be the 4th seed in the WAC Tourney and open up in the Quarterfinals against (5) Fresno St. Oregon State (Jawouk Bafou) -- 13-16, 6-10 6th WAC. The Beavers had 1 game this week and built some momentum going into the conference tournament by hosting Louisiana Tech and beating them 80-60. They'll be the 6th seed in the WAC Tourney and open up in the Quarterfinals against (3) Boise St. Code:

At 25-8, this should get them a top 4 seed in the NCAA Tourney Big 12 Tournament Colorado (Rob Nielsen) beat (7) Oklahoma 72-63 in the First Round, then shocked (2) Oklahoma St. 77-74 in the Quarterfinals, then kept the Cinderella run alive by beating (3) Nebraska 87-76 in the Semifinals, but their Cinderella run ran out in the Championship Game, as they were pounded 75-52 by (1) Kansas. At 16-18, they'll most likely miss out on the postseason, but they have something to build on for next season. Big East Tournament Louisville (Kuji Chagulia) beat (7) UConn 79-62 in the Quarterfinals, then beat (3) Marquette 72-63 in the Semifinals, and got a test from (1) Georgetown in the Championship Game, but won 66-62 to win the Big East Tourney! Their 25-7 record should also have them as a top 4 seed in the NCAA Tourney. Big 10 Tournament Iowa (Ernesto Lopez) lost in the First Round 72-54 to (8) Iowa. Their season will end with a 14-17 record. Big West Tournament Cal Poly (DeShawn St. John) lost 74-66 to (7) UC Davis in the First Round. At 7-23, their season is definitely over. Conference USA Tournament UTEP (Jeeber Mack) lost a tough one to (9) Tulane 63-60 in the First Round. At 16-15, they may sneak into the CBI or CIT, but even that is going to be iffy. Pac 10 Tournament UCLA (Patrick Hutt) beat (3) Utah St. 57-50 in the Quarterfinals, then lost to (7) Washington 71-51 in the Semifinals. At 20-13, they are still considered a lock for the NCAA Tournament, but they could be looking at an 8 or 9 seed. Southern Tournament Davidson (Randolph Childress) beat (1) College of Charleston 84-69 in the Championship Game to win the Southern Tournament! Their 23-10 record may have them in the First Four, they'll probably be looking at an 11 or 12 seed, but I could see them getting a 10 seed. WAC Tournament Hawaii (B.B. Gunn) beat (5) Fresno St. 74-68 in the Quarterfinals but fell to (1) Nevada 92-78 in the Semifinals. With a 17-15 record, they are in the same position as UTEP, holding out hope for a CBI or CIT invite. Oregon State (Jawouk Bafou) lost in the Quarterfinals to (3) Boise St. 74-66. They'll end their season with a 13-17 record. |

UCLA gets the 6th seed in the NCAA West Region. Kind of a high seed in my opinion, but that's what playing in a BCS conference will do for you. They'll open up against (11) College of Charleston in the First Round. Davidson gets the 12th seed in the NCAA South Region and will open up against (5) Gonzaga in the First Round. Louisville gets the 2nd seed in the NCAA South Region and will open up against (15) Central Connecticut St. in the First Round. Boston College gets the 2nd seed in the NCAA East Region and will open up against (15) Penn in the First Round. Monmouth gets the 10th seed in the CBI and will travel to (7) South Alabama in the First Round. I'm shocked and upset that Hawaii or UTEP couldn't make it into the postseason, especially since there are teams worth worse RPIs than theirs that are in the CIT. And Wright St. at 17-13 getting left out? That in my opinion is the biggest travesty. So only 5 of our 18 FOFC teams make the postseason, and 4 of them are in the Big Dance. Hopefully our teams will continue to get better. |

2014 NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen
(1) Tennessee gets by (12) Davidson 88-86. Great run by Davidson in this tournament, playing tough to the end. (2) Louisville beats (11) UConn 84-77 in a battle of Big East teams. 2014 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight (2) Louisville all over (1) Tennessee 94-74. Just think, we could have had an all-FOFC Elite Eight game had Davidson pulled the upset. 2014 NCAA Final Four (2S) Louisville got by (3W) Villanova 68-58. The other national semifinal saw (4E) BYU absolutely hammer (2MW) Xavier 76-47. So an interesting national championship, as BYU was formerly coached by our own Patrick Hutt, who is now at UCLA. 2014 NCAA National Championship (2S) Louisville had no trouble with (4E) BYU, 94-74. Congratulations to Kuji Chagulia who storms his Cardinals through the NCAA Tournament and picks up the first National Championship for any of our FOFC coaches!!!!! |

2014 Postseason Recap
We've already covered the NCAA Tournament, which was won by our own Kuji Chagulia and the Louisville Cardinals, but what about the other tournaments? The NIT Final Four saw (4S) Southern Illinois beat (1W) Virginia 73-59 in 1 semifinal. The other semifinal saw 2 Cinderella teams. (5MW) New Mexico beat (8E) Oakland (yes, an 8 seed was in the NIT Final Four, crazy!) 64-57. The NIT championship game saw Southern Illinois beat New Mexico 55-42. The CBI Championship Series only needed 2 games this time, as (14) Oregon swept (5) Pacific. The first game saw Oregon win 86-63, and the Ducks also won the second game 75-51. The CIT Championship saw (2) East Tennessee St. beat (8) Hofstra 71-64. |

You've got a guy in Kuji Chagulia who wins the national championship and doesn't get the National Coach of the Year Award, instead being passed over for the Georgetown coach. Wow! On a bright note, Louisville put SR PF Henry Mackie on the All-NCAA First Team, while Davidson put FR PF Richard Goddard on the NCAA All-Freshman Team. 2013-2014 Conference Awards Hartford put JR PF Charles Mitchell and SR SG Benito Bayer on the America East 2nd Team. Maine put SO PF Michael Conger on the America East 1st Team. Boston College put SR PG Nolan Murphy on the ACC 2nd Team. Colorado put SR SG Derek Franck on the Big 12 2nd Team. Louisville put SR PF Henry Mackie on the Big East 1st Team and JR PG Laurence Upchurch on the Big East 2nd Team. Colorado flubbed it hard this year, having the 290th best class, last in the Big 12 by a very wide margin. Louisville had the 47th best class, good for 8th in the Big East. High Point had the 98th best class, tops in the Big South by a fairly wide margin. Iowa had the 217th best class, good for 10th in the Big 10. Cal Poly had the 66th best class, good for 2nd in the Big West. UTEP had the 56th best class, good for 2nd in Conference USA. Wright State had the 55th best class, good for 3rd in the Horizon. Evansville had the 94th best class, good for 4th in the MVC. Illinois State had the 341st best class, last in the MVC by a wide margin and 7th worst in the entire NCAA. Come on Timmy! Some conference movement in the offseason that affects 3 of our FOFC coaches. In the Southern Conference, College of Charleston is being promoted to the Sun Belt. I for the life of me can't figure out why Davidson isn't getting promoted, but as it stands, Florida Atlantic will be the newest team in the Southern Conference.
Also, for Hawaii and Oregon State, things just got a little bit tougher in the WAC, as Gonzaga has been promoted from the WCC to the WAC, taking Idaho's place, who moves to the WCC. That is a big time conference strengthening move for the WAC, but if you wanted the coaches opinions, they might not like it so much. We've got some coaches that are getting job offers in the first round of head coach movement. Randolph Childress has been offered the job at College of Charleston, IPFW, Toledo, and UNC Wilmington. I honestly can't helpntndeacon much with this move, as all 5 schools look to be about even in the near future, with all of them having either 3 or 4 green potential players but not much else. Let me know what you think ntndeacon. Unfortunately, that was the only coach that got offered a position in the first round of head coach movement. Fortunately, nobody lost their job, and nobody seems to be in jeopardy of losing their job after the upcoming season. However, we do have a coach who had his coaching skills improve. Kuji Chagulia, has seen his coach level improve from 7 to 8, so he has 20 points to distribute among 4 categories. bbgunn, let me know how you want to distribute them. You currently have an 80 in recruiting, 40 in scouting, 90 in offense, and 30 in defense. I will be out of town until next Monday night, I am leaving in just a few hours, so bbgunn and ntndeacon have plenty of time to get back with me about their decisions. |

No respect, I tell ya. No respect! First year on the job, and Chagulia leads the Cardinals to the championship, and no Coach of the Year honors? The media is against Chagulia, I tell ya. On the other hand.... (holds up the championship trophy) "This is for all the haters who doubted me... uh, us... How you like me now?" O.K., now that that is out of the way... For Chagulia's extra coaching points, can you put all 20 of those into the defense category? Thank you. We might have won the championship, but our boys need some defensive work.

Randolph Childress has elected to stay at Davidson for now. The offers he got in the second round of the head coach period included Duquesne, Furman, Hofstra, and UL-Lafayette. Obviously Furman would be a step down since they play in the Southern Conference. Hofstra is a slightly better offer than the other ones, as they have a few more blue potential players, but a couple of them are seniors. Same with Duquesne. ntndeacon, you do have some options, but not great ones.
Also, Jeeber Mack got some offers, but I am sure he is going to want to stay at UTEP. In case he is interested at all, he is also being looked at by Duquesne, as well as Valparaiso. JeeberD, what are you thinking man? It's about even between UTEP and Valpo really. Actually, in looking at the roster, I'm wrong. UTEP has a lot more talent coming back. So that's it for now, until I get answers from these 2, I'll spend some time on my other 2 dynasties. |

As it appears that JeeberD has not been on the boards for a few weeks now, I am going to go ahead and keep him at UTEP, that looks like a better job anyways.
Unless there are any more offers for any of our coaches, which there could be, I will get going on this again sometime this weekend. We do have 2 new coaches that will be joining the dynasty, making the total 20. I will get on tonight and sim to the next round of head coach movement, if any of our coaches got offers, I'll let you know. |

Hold the phone boys, we've got a little friendly competition here. Charlotte has sent an offer to both Timmy Tribble and Randolph Childress to be their next head coach. To be honest, in looking at Charlotte's roster, it would be a slightly better job for Randolph, but a much better job for Timmy. However, a lot of it will come down to recruiting, as Charlotte has more blue and green potential players this season than either Davidson or Illinois St. However, after this season, it actually becomes about even, so I guess it won't matter a whole lot, and it'll as I said, come down to recruiting. So it's between Illinois St. and Davidson. If either one wants it, they got it, if both want it, well.. then we've got a problem. lol

ok, I've moved Timmy to Charlotte, and there were no more job offers, so I'm ready to begin the next season of this dynasty. First, I want to finish up Season 4 of the Interactive Recruit/Player Dynasty, so I'll get that done, then jump back on this probably tomorrow.
Just making sure everybody is still on board, if at any time you want me to remove your coach, I will, as I know sometimes the time in between posts tends to make people lose a bit of interest. I'm doing my best to devote some time to each project though! |

Sorry for the long delay between posts, the weather was not so good around here during the weekend, so it made for a long weekend at the ball park as we attempted to get a junior college regional baseball tournament in. Needless to say this is the first chance I've had to do anything with any of my projects since early last week. I'm hoping to get going on this coaches dynasty if not tonight, then for sure tomorrow night.
