Star Wars Squadrons is another EA time limited key which has expired sadly. Part of me wants to go "Eff EA for fake-giving games", but then again, it was the June 2022 Bundle, so I guess I can't complain too much that 12 months later, they don't want that on their overhead.

so happy you had spiritfarer available. Yahtzee Croshaw of Zero Punctuation made it his Best Game of 2020. It had a hedgehog with dementia. He cried.

I loved Wing Commander so much. I also loved the Tie Fighter games as well. I wish Squad Commander had lived up to those.

Not sure if this is the right topic for it, but I was thinking of a way for some of us to reduce our mountain of backlog. Something like a book club for games, where someone posts a list of games they kinda sorta want to play, others select one for the person to play for about 4-5 hours, and then come back to the group with a review/recommendation.

For example: Here's games from my "Interesting but Unplayed" Steam list, along with a couple of games I tried in the past but very briefly.

Loop Hero
Warhammer: Age of Sigmar, Stormground
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire
Old World
Low Magic Age

you guys would suggest something, then a week or two later, after playing it for 5+ hours, we come back to the thread with a recommendation whether others should play it or not. (and why)

Divinity and Pillars are both excellent turn-based fantasy RPGs if you're into those types of games. Old World was interesting, but just didn't hook me for long. It didn't replace Civ for 4x IMO.

I enjoyed Squadrons myself. It has less of the free form action of the old Tie Fighter/Xwing games but a more scripted experience. I find that to have both advantages and disadvantages. Reading that last sentence makes me think I'm an AI bot.
