FWIW this is what she is up to now. I don't agree with her 1992 tearing the pic of the pope but definitely wish her well. Somehow I hope she finds peace.

Sinéad O'Connor plans to be a healthcare assistant in wake of COVID-19

Sinéad O’Connor has revealed that she is planning to study to become a healthcare worker.

Appearing on Irish TV show The Late Late Show on Friday (May 29), O’Connor said she’s been accepted onto a new college programme.

Speaking to host Ryan Tubridy, O’Connor was asked about her previous comments about wanting to work in hospice care.

“We spoke before about hospice [care] and what you wanted to do with people – kind of befriend them and guide them,” Tubridy said. “Are you thinking of taking that a step further?”

O’Connor replied: “I’ve been accepted onto the course to start in Bray Institute of Further Education in September. So it’s the FETAC Level 5 healthcare support course.”

Had to look up Nadia's theme, it was familiar but didn't remember it. Yeah, it's worthy.

Didn't realize Henry Mancini did Nadia's Theme but I have heard that song from some soap opera to when it was sampled in a Mary J. Blige song "No More Drama". Either way I agree that is a solid song to add.

I know this is personal with each person, but here are a few from me:
Aaliyah - At Your Best (Yes I know this is a remake, but it is a hauntingly beautiful song when she sings this).
Simply Red - Holding Back The Years (been getting a lot of play recently - must be an age thing)
Night Shift - Commodores (my favorite song from them even when they no longer had Lionel Richie).

I Cheat the Hangman - Doobie Brothers
Especially Me - Low
Send Her My Love - Journey
Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
Nothing's Changed - Chris Isaak
Graffiti On The Train - Stereophonics

I know nothing about opera except that it's not my favorite genre. But these two songs really got to me. The singers had such beautiful voices I had to put these on my list.

Duettino Sull'aria Le nozze di Figaro from Shawshank Redemption
Lucia Di Lammermoor from Fifth Element

Several songs that I like have been mentioned thus far, but I'll add these to the mix...

Santo & Johnny - Sleepwalk
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
Rolling Stones - Wild Horses, Angie
Neil Young - Heart of Gold
Simon and Garfunkel - America
David Bowie - Starman
Van Morrison - Into the Mystic
Joni Mitchell - River
Gerry Rafferty - Right Down the Line
Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Foo Fighters - Everlong (acoustic version)
Pearl Jam - Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town
Blind Melon - Soul One
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You

And a bit more exclusive Canadian content (beyond Neil and Joni)...

The Watchmen - All Uncovered
Blue Rodeo - 5 Days in May

Apparently Mancini wasn't the original. Still fantastic but I'd call it "haunting".

Nadia's Theme - Wikipedia
Quote:
"Nadia's Theme" is a piece of music composed by Barry De Vorzon and Perry Botkin Jr. in 1971. It became associated with Olympic gymnast Nadia Comăneci during and after the 1976 Summer Olympics. The composition has been used as the theme music to the American television soap opera The Young and the Restless intermittently since the series debuted in 1973. This piece is also used regularly by Steve Wright presenter on BBC Radio 2 Sunday Love songs as a backing bed.

De Vorzon and Botkin Jr. composed this piece of music, originally titled "Cotton's Dream", as incidental music for the 1971 theatrical film Bless the Beasts and Children.

Never watched soaps but here's the Y&R version. Lot's of beautiful people.

Here's the original DeVorzon version (I think). I prefer the Mancini/Y&R version.

This is the 1st list I went through in a long time.

This is a great one that is underrated but fantastic. Probably THE best rock ballad and very beautiful

"My Immortal" - Both the Evanescence original and the cover by One Voice Children's Choir. Side note: Hearing Amy Lee sing and play it live on stage is the most spine-chilling musical moment I've ever experienced

"Maggot Brain" - Funkadelic. Even sober, it's a transcendent piece that takes you out of your current state and somewhere else. On your favorite mind alterant, your mind romps like the mind of God as Gatsby's did pre-Daisy kiss

There's a girl on TikTok named Miranda Elloway. Her cover of "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell is stunningly beautiful. Look it up if you have time.

I feel like in most cases my tastes are pretty rigid...but what strikes me as 'most beautiful' can probably shift a lot from day to day & how/what I'm feeling (to the point that I've already posted something else in this thread). Some days I might choose this:
