They're 4-7 and have lost six out of their last 7.

Makes sense.

Guys, he's starting a rookie quarterback - just needs more time. Especially with how good he is at developing offensive talent!

Just read the NFL.com article on the extension, it's clear why they wanted to keep him:

Quote:
In his first four seasons with the Rams, Fisher has guided the team to records of 7-8-1, 7-9, 6-10, and 7-9. The Rams currently sit at 4-7 with a difficult schedule down the stretch. Fisher hasn't led a team to a winning season since 2008 and has just six seasons in his 22-year coaching career with more than eight victories.

That's outstanding work there by Fisher to parlay that record to possibly 24 years as a coach. Wow.

Huge play there before halftime. The Chiefs defense had been baiting Ryan most of that second quarter and it finally caught up with him.

Wow. And almost another pick 6. Ryan got VERY lucky there.

Probably the reason the Browns cut Gabriel. Looked like he ran away from the ball instead of going to get it causing that pick 6. Julio Jones did whatever he wanted against that secondary in the first half. Suddenly, Ryan started looking elsewhere oddly enough.

I also forgot they'll be competing with the Chargers to develop a fanbase out there. I'm sure nothing gets those bandwagon LA fans fired up like low scoring games & dirty play!

Leave Golden Tate that wide open and the Lions will never trail.

Ha!

I don't know that I've personally ever seen that score change before.

KC up by 5...Atlanta scores a TD to trim the lead to 1.

Lions look like they might actually be a legitimate playoff team, after stifling the Saints in New Orleans.

Any word on whether Kaepernick will kneel for the second pick of the draft?

Great pic of Eric Berry's parents. He gave each of them the ball after his two interceptions, both of which went for scores.

For one of the most popular entertainment products in human history, the NFL still seems to have the most petty and tone-deaf PR at times.

NFL says Tennessee Titans can't play in 'My Cause' cleats

Did the Jets get the wrong starting time or something? Because they obviously haven't shown up yet.

Has an NFL head coach ever been fired DURING a game? Tonight's #Jets performance has me wondering.

It's ridiculous to me that players can't wear these every game if they wanted to.

I don't know if anyone saw that early unnecessary roughness penalty on Sheldon Richardson for hitting Luck late out of bounds. This probably sounds like an attempt at a hot take but IMO he should get kicked out of the game for a hit like that. It wasn't really violent and the only way Luck would have gotten hurt is if he fell awkwardly, but it was so unnecessary and late that it was either intentional, which players should get tossed for, or it was just pure stupidity and a player that dumb shouldn't be allowed on the field.

The NFL will never bend on their dress code. It may be the only thing they are consistent about.

Getting excited about Thursday night. The Chiefs are opening up the gates three hours early (12:00 PM) to make sure they don't have any crowd issues.

Place is going to be rocking. Friend of mine reminded me of that Denver game when John Elway tried to get the crowd to be quiet. Didn't work so well.

I think the NFL does a bunch of dumb stuff but I do understand this. How does it benefit the NFL to have players making a bunch of political statements and promoting their unvetted charities?

Limit to things that have been vetted and set up a clear procedure to get something into the queue.

Apparently none of that was a problem for one week, why would it be a problem for 15 more?

Nike wants their logo to be clearly visible during the games.

This is from 2014: http://www.complex.com/sneakers/2014...stomize-cleats

Quote:
Nike recently sent out a letter to players across the NFL telling them to stop customizing their cleats, or else Nike will terminate their endorsement deal. Cleat customization is a big thing around the NFL these days, as players like Marshawn Lynch, Reggie Bush, and DeSean Jackson have all hit the field rocking Nike cleats with their own spin on them. Nike apparently caught wind of this, and wasn't too happy as they sent out a letter reminding players the point of the deal is make sure the Swoosh is visible on TV during games.

The letter reminds players that "Your Nike Football Contract requires that you wear 'Nike' products that have been designated by Nike Sports Marketing for such use."

It doesn't benefit the NFL and in fact opens them up to other problems. The one week thing seems like a nice gesture on their part to let players be outspoken without it overshadowing the league on a weekly basis.

Bullshit. Just like everything else, they want to make it seem like they care when in fact they obviously don't. The fact that they wouldn't allow the two teams who couldn't participate originally to do so this week shows exactly that.

"Overshadowing the league". Credit to you if you were actually able to type that with a straight face.
