Quad City doesn't have anyone off-limits. We're not rebuilding, we're simply retooling to make an attempt to win in the next few years.
Our farm system is essentially non-existent and so, while I'd like some "near-done" prospects for the better talent on my roster, that's only if you're not offering up experience veterans who you either need to jettison because they're costing you too much and you don't want them...or because you like what I'd be giving you in return. So take a look and lemme know. We'll be here. |

I won't be trading draft picks. Only players for more players.
And then, only if we can improve. But no one is off-limits. |

I don't expect anyone to trade for this guy since he is 34 now, but I figured I would throw him up on the block.
1B Tyler Reilly. The guy should be a DH, his fielding is all but totally gone. Still hits well, so I think he would make a pretty good DH for someone in the RL. EDIT: Gone already. Didn't think that would happen.

CF Ron Lord is sitting in Boston's AAA, and yet developed into a 4.5-* player this offseason. Has low eye/discipline, but 80+ blue in contact, gap, and HR power. I'm not sure where he'll fit in my lineup, although if no one wants him next season he may bump CF Ryan Horswill, who could also be had.
I'll probably want prospects in return, as I'm going to be up against the cap pretty hard next season again. Starting pitching prospects most welcome, middle infield or catcher prospects also welcome.

Boston's got a few more minor-league guys ready to play in the majors that are blocked:
CF Robert Spencer: 67/33/78 defense, 85/83/71/57/64 hitting, 3* CF Andrew Wilson: 27/100/61 defense, 68/82/71/62/46 hitting, 2.5* RF David Thomas: 82/92 defense (no CF), 83/87/45/86/86 hitting, 2.5/4* MR Mark Bell: 51/81/74, 3* Younger prospects preferred, with Spencer and Thomas more expensive than the other two (and I may yet find room for Thomas on my ML roster).

He is too good to be a backup SS. Working from memory here, but he is 80+ contact and 60+ power now with 90 speed and 100 defense making $650k a year....hard to beat that! I would gladly keep him as a backup (he plays all IF positions afterall), but if I could move him and improve my starting CF or RF positions then I will.

RF/CF Hector Mendez is a 21 yr old contact/speed/ big D spect ranked #46 overall, 4 stars.
I'm looking for a just as good SP spect. A good guy for those teams built to use speed & D. more then power to win games. He's @ the AA lv. now.

Right now, here's my rather limited block:
3B Miyahara I am definitely open to discussing others, but for now this is all that I definitely want to talk about moving. He's a great bat that had a hiccup year and should get back on track next season.

Valdosta's 1974-1975 offseason trade block:
I have a few prospects too many at a couple of positions so looking to move these guys if someone is interested in stocking up on some young talent: 1B Ron Howard CF Daniel Beck 1B Keith Manning I also have too many major leaguers at a few positions (such as outfield) so am looking to move 1 or two of these guys: RF Antonio Garza 2B Ken Connolly I also am looking to move: SP George Crawford - Went 18-9 3.49 ERA his rookie season, 12-8 3.56 ERA last season and is amazingly cheap salary wise. I am ready to bring up a new 5th starter this season so would like to see if I can trade Crawford to improve my team elsewhere. My main needs are a better catcher than Matt Barrett and a middle infielder with good defense and a decent enough bat to be a pinch hitter/defensive sub on the bench (prefer left handed, but we can see on that point). |

Columbus is looking to move a player or two for some MR help, or some prospects:
SP Dave Hardee (1/4) - 26, hasn't quite adjusted to the RL as expected, but has the potential to be a #2 or 3 starter RF Marcos Melendez (1/1) - 30, basically he's a #2 hitter, great OBP. |

Toronto has the following players available:
CF David Dunham (ML): 1974 Gold Glove centerfielder. Gold Glove potential in all three outfield positions. Led the league in HRs in 1975, #2 in 1974. 1B Jose Diaz (AAA): Solid 1B and SS with an OK bat. May try out for my chronically-bad first base position in 1976, but he really doesn't fit in my organization and deserves a chance with another team. LF Chris Franco (AA): Good LF who's been having problems getting things going on offense. He's only 26 and could still find it, but I have enough outfield talent as it is. Would consider any fair offer. Especially interested in a young 1B with real contact potential.

2B Joey Higman is on the block.
He was an Allstar 1B 2 seasons ago, and an Allstar 2B last season. If I don't move him there is a good chance he will be an allstar 3B next season. With emerging youngsters, I CAN move Higman....but that doesn't mean I have to move him. Help on the Hill, or in the OF would be my top priorities. Although youngsters at any position are always good!

I think this will disappoint greygoose, but I think it's best for the long term success of the franchise...
I do not believe Atlanta has talent to get back to the FOOL Classic at this point in time. They have good talent, and can be a solid .500 team, and maybe even threaten for a distant second in a runaway type of season. But we have no starting pitching depth, little organizational depth with respect to prospects, and we have some major holes in the lineup (pretty much everywhere in the infield except where Holden Matthews is). And we're up against the cap, so I can't see us making any quick moves to make up the difference. As such, I am putting the following star players on the block: SP Pedro Ortiz SP David Barajas CL Mike McBride SS Ed Manning LF Edgardo Reyes LF Mark Nelson Strangely enough, I am pulling Holden Matthews at least somewhat back off of the block. At 25, he is young enough to still be a part of this squad when it returns to power in the next three years or so. I will still listen to offers on Matthews, and even on star CF Carlos Vazquez, but you're going to have to blow my socks off for those guys. I may be willing to consider moving others as well, but I figured the above six would be the most interesting. Ortiz and Barajas are, hands down, aces. Ortiz is 30, but is being paid cheap ($4 M), and he's signed for two more years. Barajas is 28 and is also an ace talent (he's paid more, but his contract runs out next season). McBride still has the ability to play a key role in any contender's bullpen. Manning is probably the weakest of the bunch, but he can be had cheap, and he has some pop at a tough position to get power (SS). Reyes, he of Valdosta fame, still steals over 50 bases, tops .300 and .800 OPS regularly. He has the worst contract (three years left), but he can really make an impact on a lineup. Nelson is a traditional power guy. He has good ratings, although inconsistent playing time has hurt his numbers. I am looking for prospects, particularly young players close to ready to play, guys trapped behind big time players at their current clubs, or backups who just need a chance. I particularly value pitching. I am willing to take salary back, so long as it is sensible and not too long term. Please PM me if interested.

Hall of Fame SP Joe Morris is on the block.
Here is a guy, still in his prime who may someday have the Pitcher of the Year award named after him! If I can improve my team, I will move him. I have surplus SP so he is replaceable. SP Ron Pate is also available. 3.97, 3.69, 3.41 era's the last 3 seasons...with his era getting BETTER each year. Just signed a 3 yr extension at a bargain $2.8mil per. One or BOTH can be moved in the right deal! I am looking for a big hitter...a middle of the order man...position not really important if he is better then the guy I currently have at that position, OR for a top prospect. PM me with your thoughts...I'll be around all day itchin to talk deal.
