Porn company Vivid Entertainment offers $1.54 million to octuplets mother (Octomom)

VIVID Entertainment has made a $US1 million ($1.54 million) offer to Nadya Suleman to make a pornographic video.

In an offer letter obtained by TMZ.com, the president of the pornography studio and distributor Steven Hirsch says the company would release the film under their "Vivid-Celeb imprint, which has released titles starring such personalities as Pamela Anderson, Kim Kardashian, and most recently, former Miss USA Kelli MCarty."

The site also reports that the company is offering her family dental and health care if she agrees to star in a series of films.

Suleman, 33, known as "Octomom" after giving birth to octuplets earlier this year, has reportedly not replied to the request.

Suleman gave birth to the octuplets on January 26 in a Californian hospital. She has six other children, and has said all 14 of her children were conceived through in vitro fertilisation, with sperm from an unidentified, platonic friend, The Associated Press reports.

Meanwhile, TV talk show host Dr Phil McGraw tells the Los Angeles Times Suleman told him that she feared the hospital may not release her newborn octuplets to her.

"What she is telling me is that unless and until she has a better living arrangement, that they are not likely to release the children to her," McGraw said.

This is a key point. Conservative politicians like to harp on the idea that our welfare system encourages people to have more kids, but the only thing they succeed in proving is that they've never been on welfare themselves.

People on welfare who have a ton of kids do so generally because they're not bright and/or have no conception of birth control. And, ironically, the conservative response to this is to preach "abstinence", which is just yet another tone-deaf response.

Of course, in this particular case I have a feeling that it was indeed the potential financial benefits that motivated this woman. Of course, the financial benefits in question were going to be from private sources, for selling her story. The American Dream lives on.

All those day time TV personality types are really pathetic. Sometimes it's hard to put one over the other. But the 2 or 3 day event with Octomom would be a notch above (below?) anything else I've seen anyone try to do.

True. Also, the figure is misleading since it doesn't include benefits, cost of living in CA, etc. Regardless, 11 nannies for 14 kids is outrageous. She might need 4 nannies at the most. 1 per 2 newborn, and she can take care of the other six.
