Checking in. I normally like to vote for someone on Day 1 who hasn't been around, but I don't know whether I will be around at all after about 11 Central so I will likely be casting a vote at that point. If I am around again later I will change to someone who hasn't participated.

Actually in fairness Blade you didn't piss me off at all when I was the wolf and you had me nailed. It was more amusing than anything. It was last game when I was a villager and you were lording your power over everyone causing a whole bunch of needless role reveals (as opposed to no reveals or coordinated reveals) that I got pissed off. However, you have done a great job of identifying baddies lately.

all the roles have been sent out, also please note the following addition to the rules as a secondary role:
Student of Magic – even though your years at Hogwarts are long since past, you continue to advance yourself in the magical arts. Should you survive in the game long enough, you may obtain an additional secondary role. If anyone has any questions, send me an owl, i will answer you later on, as i am apparating out to watch the bengals pummel the steelers. |

As for this game, id advise against it for now. And thank you for that last line, though i really feel it has been luck. Im sure ill get at least 3 villagers wronfully killed this time.

Wizard checking in. I may be a little handicapped with minimal knowledge of Harry Potter, but I'll try. I did read the first like...4 books several years ago, but my knowledge has seriously slipped. If anyone could go through the roles and lay out any potential "hidden" portion to them I would appreciate it.
FYI Cronin, Blade seriously holds grudges in these games. Good luck getting past him here

Okay, I think I'm caught up now and checking in. I'm not sure I've ever been part of a game this big, either.
I'm even worse off than dubb, I would guess. I vaguely remember one Potter movie. I'd hate to guess (but I'll have to), but wasn't there another one or two? I've never read the books. Maybe I will when I have children. I've always envisioned myself as someone that will read to their kids.

Ok here's a Harry Potter primer. I can answer any questions you might have as well. I have tried to put the terms saldana has used in bold.
The world of Harry Potter exists in a world parallel to our own. The wizarding community does its best to make sure that those of us who are not wizards, otherwise known as Muggles, do not become alarmed or even aware of their presence. Several years ago the wizarding world was rocked by a wizard named Lord Voldemort. Lord Voldemort, and his followers, called Death Eaters, waged a reign of terror upon the wizarding world. They were unafraid to use the wizarding world's most powerful spell which allows a wizard to kill somebody and were able to avoid detection through their use of Occulemency, a branch of wizarding which protects the mind. Even Aurors, specially trained wizards who act as a sort of police force for the wizarding world, were at risk. The Ministry of Magic, the governing body of the Wizarding world, was at a loss. All of this came to a sudden end. Voldemort and his followers went to the house of James and Lily Potter, who also had a baby boy named Harry. After Voldemort killed James, Lily cast a spell, which cost her her own life, but protected Harry. When Voldemort attempted to kill Harry the spell rebounded and Voldemort was killed. Following Voldemort's disappearences, many of the Death Eaters were arressted. Many were subjected to interregation through the use of Legilimens which allows someone to enter the memories of another person. However, recently through a complex method, not important here, Voldemort has regained corpreal form and his death eaters have started to wreak havoc once more upon the wizarding world. It is at this point that our game seems to start. While I mentioned before that the wizarding world exists parallel to our own there is also a wizarding village, that has no Muggles, called Hogsmeade. Our setting is a village like this, though not Hogsmeade itself. |

I can't, I'm only on the board for a few hours during weekday evenings. If I saw anything from previous games, those that don't post all day end up dead.

Night 0 (i will always try to remember to post in red to make things easy for everyone)
After dinner, the entire town gathers in the village pub, The Wasted Wizard Inn, for another evening of listening to Saldana’s advice of how to protect yourselves against the forces of evil. As is his usual habit, goblet after goblet of mulled mead is consumed by your Ministry Advisor, and shortly after he finishes explaining that thanks to the charm he cast over the town this afternoon, no one can apparate or disapparate within the village borders any longer, he changes the subject. “Now, one thing you all need to understand is that you all are already in danger. I have spent the last few nights out in town, watching, and I’ve seen men about. I have seen them meeting with others in the shadows, hooded and whispering. Those that follow He Who Must Not Be Named are already among you, and you need to move quickly to protect yourselves.” You all look around, looks of suspicion and surprise on your faces at this revelation, not quite sure what to make of it. Your disbelief does have some merit, as Saldana is typically too drunk to walk in a straight line by the end of the night, much less follow someone and employ stealth while doing so. Just as you are about to question him about who it was he saw, a dull thud, followed by a loud clatter, comes from the direction of your Counselor, and you turn back to see Saldana slumped forward against his table, the goblet of mead in that was in front of him knocked to the floor. “Well, it was about time for that to happen”, mutters the barkeeper, as he picks up the goblet and begins mopping up the spilled mead. “I’ve had to levitate his drunken ass up to his room every night since he got here.” “We don’t have time for this prat to be passed out,” exclaims one of you angrily, “someone wake him up!” The wizard closest to him tires to shake Saldana awake, and in doing so knocks him out of his chair to the floor. It is then you notice that Saldana’s robes are rent open across his chest, and crimson streaks are running down his front, and blood is now seeping onto the floor. A large eviscerating slash has been cut diagonally into Saldana from his shoulder to his waist, and a further check reveals that he is not passed out as usual, but he is in fact, dead. Night 0 has begun; night actions are due by 9:30 am EDT on Monday Last edited by saldana : 01-08-2006 at 09:38 PM. Reason: red added |
