I think it would have been a 53 yard FG. Matt Bryant was 6 for 8 on FGs 50+ this year.

That catch would have made it a 43 yard FG.

Doesn't look like it. The guard stood up and tried to block him. He might have brushed him when the guy was standing up but I don't think that's a penalty. Regardless, that wasn't the call. And the call they made was clearly wrong. Hopefully it doesn't play a factor in the game (and again, you could arguably blame Gostkowski too).

That's the kind of catch that ends up with a name someday if ...

Right. Forgot the pass was caught for ~10 yards.

I hate to say it but this is about as bad as you can possibly coach a massive lead

Eh, I don't think it was the coaching, it was Matt Ryan letting himself get sacked

Glad they made that so blame doesn't go on the refs or the kicker. Still left time on the board for Matty Ice but could be tough with no timeouts. I really like the guy and feel for the Atlanta fans so I'm hoping he pulls off a drive here.

Or are the Falcons going to blow it and lose in regulation?

In both of those situations a drop back pass was an awful call, he also wasted the TOs that would have given them a chance to go down and win it in the last minute

I don't understand why the Falcons didn't play for the FG and the two possession lead... sigh.

While I like the Falcons, I can't say I care for Arthur Blank and his dancing wife. They look a lot more nervous now.

Wasn't there a blow to the head of Ryan on the 3rd down play though? Let Cam Newton know that it doesn't always get called, it's not the league against him.

Can New England do a place kick field goal here on the fair catch or does the clock have to be expired?

This looks like another Patriots victory. The Falcons are spiraling out of control.

Actually time is irrelevant. It has to be kicked from the spot which was horrible.

It helps when opposing coaches and QB's keep making mind blowingly bad decisions late in Super Bowls, but yeah. Pretty much

Brady looks so comfortable back there now. After 3 quarters of dodging bodies, they finally found the answer or Atlanta's D got tired.

So why no fair catch kick there? I would think the kick would run out the clock still with only 3 seconds, no? Maybe 75 yards was just too long.

Yeah, the story of this game is the Falcons pass rush disappearing for whatever reason.

I really feel for this young Atlanta defence right now. They were so good for so much of the game and just seem nervous with their backs up against the wall.

I've seen the tackles getting a lot of help from TEs and HBs since the first half.

That was a rough chop/ cut high low block on the edge.
But they aren't going to call that in that case
