Mea culpa! Mea maxima culpa!
Just as an explanation to all: I'm working on a trade deal that would eat up the bit of my cap that I was otherwise going to expend on FAs. Otherwise I wouldn't keep y'all waiting. Mucho sorries. |

FOOL Trivia, '75 Chicago was the first team since the 1966-69 New York Highlanders to draw 4 million + fans in a season.

OK, I won't keep you guys waiting. I've just exported, Dark Cloud. I'd ask you to wait till 9:50 central, please, and if I've not worked anything out by then, I can resume negotiations based on the outcome of the first round of FA.

It didn't used to be for us either. Our first year in the Quad Cities, we played in a 30k season stadium. We eventually got to 43,000 before moving back to Chicago and now we play in a 53,250 seater. |

The potential Toronto-Colorado trade better involve future children, given how long it's taken to make happen.

Hah. Go ahead and run it, boss. I'll likely not get the primary guy I'm offering on and it'll all be good, anyway.
Edit: No children, but at last count 7 names, one of them maybe or maybe not to be announced later.

I got a lot of my money guys, so that's nice. Of course, I had very little room to move around with my cap, so it is what it is. No big contracts, but filled some holes and added some speculative talent to the minors.
We'll see how the trades go (if any of them happen).

If I was any good at EU3 at all, I would join up for a game. I am actually looking over your roster, as promised. Although as we suspect, it might be hard to craft a deal. Yeah, I said this in public, so the rest of the league would shit its pants.

I play a weekly game of EU3 with Barkeep (well we used to long ago, but just re-started recently)... but since I work from home, I often have it running on a second computer while I do my work on my main computer anyways. I'm playing as Bohemia and my current game I don't really care what I accomplish as long as I can cause France to implode into little pieces to great delight. As for looking over my roster, I'm open to ideas. You know where I stand on that mega-deal we have been discussing. |

Roger that...Tried it last season with Lott...he gave me a 3.22era over 190 innings. Good enough to try it with Tien who has FAR better ratings. I'll throw an extra arm into the pen just to pick up the slack a bit.

I did it with Nelson Valdes years and years ago, and he turned it into a career as a SP. I also continued it with Victor Gonzalez after gstelmack started it with him, and now Gonzalez is going to get his payday (or did? I didn't see his name, but he's probably there).
Tien's 48 END is a little lower than I like to go, but it's an interesting experiment nonetheless. I tend to cut that experiment off in the low 50s.

Carlos Gonzales had 49 Endurance when he first came up, not sure if anyone ever noticed that. It is why in his entire career he only has 4 shutouts (3 of which in recent years as his endurance has increased)

Looking forward to when we can name the Pitcher of the Year award after a legend of the first generation of FOOL. Right now, I'd say it's between Gabe Prado, Joe Morris, Tom Williams or that odd-ball Pete McKeane (a strange morph of Rick Aguilera and Dennis Eckersley for FOOL) with 200+ career saves and 100+ career wins.
