I am sending out roles now. This will give you several hours to PM me with any questions before we begin tonight at midnight. I am not sending out primers to the Rangers, Sauron Agents and Saruman Agents until later.

Roles have been sent. Primers have not. As a reminder, do not begin the game until midnight, when all of the information is available to you

As an interesting aside, I tried to make the roles realistic, so there are eight female roles. If you are a guy, and you got a chick role, just remember all of the women who get male roles over and over again!

I expect this game to pass the FOFCHS game in post on Tuesday morning (Day 2). I'll say 11:48 AM EST.

Hey, its all about quality over quantity. Lets see the bodyguard pull off two blocks in a row at endgame to turn the tables on the bad guys this game!

The air of something beyond the mundane hangs in the ether. The tang of the unusual whets your lips. Bree is unaccustomed to these sorts of changes. You are a simple folk, with simple desires. You want to work, spend time relaxing with friends and family, and have a respectable life. You are farmers, millers, weavers, and other businesspeople. You are hobbits and man and the occasional dwarf.

When the Black Riders rode through the village, darkness followed in their wake. The taint of dark has not left the Bree since. Some of you have led the charge to do something about this. You are not an easily roused folk, but now is not the time for the sedentary. If there has ever been a call to action in the history of your town, it is now.

It only took a week before various town leaders had roused the populace. However, you need to look within the town, not without. Breefolk are hardened and ready to attack outside forces, but this is a rot from within. No people living in the shadow of the Barrow Downs would be accused of being weak. Hardiness is a way of life.

However, now a different fortitude is required. You know that the Black Riders had help from within these very walls. Now it is time to do something about it. All twenty-five of the various suspects about Bree are brought together, including various town leaders, people who had contact with Mr. Underhill and Strider, people who may have been in the area, and strangers that have recently made Bree their home.

You must decide for yourselves when and to whom you will administer justice. This may require quick wits, intuition, and a strong stomach.

As of right now, the game has begun. Lynch votes may begin, and you may discuss the game. Day One will end Monday Night at 10:00 pm EST.

Hey, did anyone lose a ring? I found one the other day. It's pretty bland and looks like your typical golden ring. Nothing really cool about. Although there is this one creepy guy who keeps bugging me for it. Something about his precious. Whatever. I think he's just a heroin addict looking to pawn it for drug money. So if you guys know of anyone who has lost a ring, send them my way.

Is it time for my after breakfast snack yet?

Shut up stupid, we just ate

Im not stupid, im hungry

Your always hungry, its no wonder all the other hobbits look at you funny when you go to their festivities...you eat all the food

I cant help it, i have a bigger appetite then they do

So do orcs, but you dont see them eating all the food at the party

What do orcs have to do with anything smartass?

Dont call me a smartass, stupid!

*you all think im crazy, and finally my role supports that idea*

Good heavens, no! I don't want to shave to the skin! It gets cold in Bree at night, and the cobbles on Bree Road are simply unbearable in the morning after harvest time.

I am just talking about practicing some sensible grooming.

They laugh because they hate you

No, thats just their way of being friendly...i have lots of friends here

Like who?

Ummm...just last week Tinglebrook Applebottom had me over for some soup!

No, you barged into his home against his wishes and he threw the hot soup he was making at you in self-defense

He was just playing, hes does that with everyone

If everyone means just you, then yes

See, i told you he liked me...i bet all the other hobbits wish they had the special relationship Tinglebrook and i have!

We should probably kill Blade now. The last time we saw this act, wasn't it saldana that did this thing, and he turned out to be a psychopathic multiple personality killer?

Plus, Blade said earlier in the thread his notoriety know ends up allowing him to live much longer. Can't let him get away with that.

Well, seriously, I don't know what to make of Blade, since the saldana crazy thing was in a game unrelated to this one. My guess is he is playing it something like Gollum, so take that for what it's worth (especially so early).

I will be out until a couple hours before deadline, as I work tomorrow, of course. But I should be around for the last couple hours of discussion.

Obviously, my Spleen vote is your typical Day One random vote, so I reserve the right to change it to a more worthy candidate, should one arise between now and tomorrow.

Okay, here's a new rule. As of right now, I am banning people who are not playing from posting a vote. If you are not one of the 25 select, I don't want you posting bold votes for people. I've got 25 people to keep track of, and I don't want to accidentally include one of your votes and whatnot.

Do you know who this deagol fellow is Valen?

Not that i can recall, how about you Valen?

I dont believe ive ever been fortunate enough to cross paths with this fellow either. Im sure hes a rather entertaining lad though.

As entertaining as the hot soup game?

Why must you start that up again Valen, its not a game.

Next time i play, i should have Tinglebrook to play outside. Hes one of the short type of hobbits, and i keep banging my back on his ceiling as i run....oh, we just have the best of times, i wish you could be there to play with us Valen.

Are you crazy?

For those who never read the stories, or saw the movies there is a character named Smeagol who suffered from Dissociative identity disorder who had a second personality named Gollum. His disorder came about due to a traumatic experience as a younger hobbit where he killed his relative and best friend over a ring that "called to him".

I've been curious about Blade playing out a Dissociative identity disorder type personality so far this game since Gollum by no means was helpful or friendly in the stories. In fact, he was more of a hinderance than a help for the Fellowship. As is such often with things though, he did in fact play a big part in the final conquering of evil, but it was completely unintentional and driven off of his own greed.

My guess is most likely in a game like this while a Gollum character wouldn't be the main target for the good side to rid themselves of, he is definitly a type of character that we wouldn't want around. So I have been intrigued by Blade playing up such a character.

My initial guess is its either:

1) Blade playing a role to create some votes and keep from getting night killed

or

2) Blade playing an evil role but wanting to come out in a way that doesn't seem an evil role and thus through reverse psychology not get enough votes to be lynched due to appearing to try to get votes to be lynched.
