Great, my brother in law is a true russian. Super. I hate that guy. I have half a mind to throw all of my teams entries so that the US can win instead. Take that, gregori!!
Seriously, though, comrade, I am here to bring the soviet whatever we are gold and happiness.

So does everyone compete in every event, or does our team nominate one person for each event?

Everyone competes in each event. In the individual events it may be possible for a team to earn more than one medal. In the team events they compete as a team for one possible medal. The choices that each player has is how much effort to use up on a given event. The choices that each team has is which of their members that want to earn the bonus is someone (or their team in general) wins gold for that event. Thanks guys. A lot of districts do what is called a "RIF" where they lay off complete groups and then higher most back. This is an actual dismissal and people have been told "go find work." Luckily, I am tenured and it looks like, despite a push from one individual with too much power, my wife will be fine as well. Just a very rough day. My best friend's pregnant wife (I teach with both) was dismissed. Rough to see.

Just popping in quick here to say that I'll will be away from the computer for most of the afternoon most likely. But Team Germany will still win anyway.

I am glad it sounds like you guys will be ok!
It's a rough time for Education. The district I am doing my fieldwork in has to cut 30 million for next year. Everyone is receiving a paycut, all extra personal looks to be laid off (those not required by law like counselors) as well as many teacher positions. In my field, School Psychology they supposedly have to lay off 2 of 12 from an already overworked position. I'm in California, so I think things are worse here, but hopefully will be a bit better when I graduate next year. |

Thanks Danny. Alright, let me get my D1 vote in. Lathum, I am mildly surprised by the push for a tie and letting the scans roll in. It just seems a bit outside your style. If I'm wrong on that, then so be it, it's day 1 and I'll move but you damned Americans are so arrogant anyway!

Regarding the tie idea, this is very different from normal WW in that a tie also means no night kill. It would be interesting to try out Lathum's theory and it will make this more of an olympic game than a WW game. The downside like the WW showed is getting all the villagers to go along with it.

Seems a bit lame, but tactically sound. I'll go along with it if there's signs of support.

All right, checking in briefly before I'm out for most of the day again. I had thought of the tie thing as well ... the downside is if they nail the seer, we basically start the game all over. Is there a victory condition tied to the events as well?
I'm fine for trying it though. Wolves with no kills are the kind of wolves i like. |

How do we choose which on our team earns the advantage? We must come to consensus in PM? We each vote in PM to you, EF? |

I think doing a no vote is much safer than trying to engineer something like we did a couple games ago. Why wouldn't we just no vote?

why would we vote anyone? That allows the no-shows today to have an impact on the voting. If noone votes anyone, then only the wolves would throw a vote to get someone lynched.

I see where you guys are coming from. One the one hand, I want to see everyone check in with a vote, but on the other hand, I also don't want someone who doesn't check in to screw it all up. Especially since I'll be at trivia during deadline.

No vote is light years better than the equal-vote plan. Someone will screw up the voting and then it'll launch into, most likely, a villager vs. villager free for all. I am only down with this if we don't vote.
