Ok, just caught up. It's refreshing to see that having to play nursemaid managed to pay off.
So, of the options: Heal, Magic Missile, Detect Magic, Light, Read Magic, Mage Armor, Fear, Sleep I'm thinking that a combat spell may help me win this thing since I already have enough support and utility spells to have gotten us this far. I'm thinking Sleep could be useful to avoid combat and help us move more quickly, which we appear to need. What are your thoughts? |

I don't want to tell you what to do with your character but I was along the same lines of thinking. I would say something like Fear, Sleep, or even Magic Missile. Something that is a bit more offense would help PLUS each time you use them, you seem to get xp so maybe for your next level, double-one up so you can generate twice as much xp each time since you can use it twice per combat.

KWhit - if I were to say, take heal to have it avaliable twice per room, am I correct in assuming it would take more time than casting it once? Also, since I've leveled up, are my spells more potent?(bigger heal, etc)

We'll cover healing with potions, hopefully. Besides, what self-respecting evil mage wants to cure wounds? Whatever attack spell suits your fancy is great, but a multi-combatant option like Sleep probably is best.

Casting 2 heal spells would take twice as much time as casting it once, that is correct. Spells do get slightly more potent as you level for the most part. |

It was more asking about the mechanics than actually suggesting I'd take a 2nd heal. If it took the same amount of time to cast 2 spells of the same type as 1, then it would benefit stacking of the same spell. |

Since PB has made use of my ability to spread hate, this is now officially my favorite team and I will be adding a 5 star rating to this thread in hopes of netting a bonus for you. Go team go!

Ok, I'll take Sleep as my new spell for this level.
As for this room, I am guessing I should cast detect magic again to see what we can learn from the fountains, or possibly a hidden exit since there are no visible exits. As for the two fountains, we could bottle one, one of you two can taste the other, and then if it's a good thing, all of us use it. Then, if we think other groups may come through the same rooms behind us somehow, we could poison the good fountain with the handy little flask I found in the chest. |

As usual, I will have to be the brave one, you guys can simply hide behind me and play with your wands, staffs, and vaginas. I will drink from the red fountain. In terms of Nyquil, red always tasted better than green and Cherry is better than stupid Sour Apple when it comes to Slurpees. So like some drunken frat boy, I will step up and keg stand this mo-fo.

The best part about our rating is that if other teams decide to copy our vote for the thread shenanigans I can just pop a vote on their thread.
Yep, my evilness knows no bounds. Dr. Evil, take note.

I got the order for J23 to check for magic.
I'll go ahead and tell you that J23 does indeed detect an aura of magic surrounding the two fountains. |

I made one last minute change to the PM. I added that if bad things (or nothing) happens to me after the first fountain, I'll drink from the other. I would hate for you guys to have to do something hard or scary, you might mess your panties.

J23 casts a spell to detect magic.
Oh yes. There is an aura of magic surrounding both fountains. You decide to press on with your plan and PB drinks from the red fountain. As it goes down, it begins to sting. Ack! It poisons you. Smoke begins to spread from somewhere around the fountain. A robed Priest materializes out of it. He glares at you. "How dare you disturb the sacred Fountain of Tymor. Begone, evil beings!" He speaks a few words, and a bright light appears from above. Sacred Flame bursts forth and streaks toward PB. It misses. And you attack. The battle was intense at times, but after 4 turns, PB's slash with the longsword takes him down. He disappears in a cloud of vapor. In his wake appear 150gp. You divide them between you. Notes: J23's sleep spell was ineffective on the priest. All of you did damage to him. No one needed to use a healing potion. Once you catch your breath, you decide "what the heck" and PB takes a sip from the second fountain. Refreshing! He is immediately healed. The rest of you take sips, and as you do, a small Imp appears. He is happy to see you. He wishes you luck on your journey and hands PB a Medallion of Evil. You're not sure what it does, but the Imp assures you that it will help you. Let me know if you want to wear it (and who is wearing it). The imp ushers you through a secret door and into the next room. |

I'm wondering why the amazing PB needed help dispatching the Priest. Nonetheless, I feel like we made good time in this room and reaped rewards that will help us going forward.
I'm also sad that we were not able to taint the waters on our way out of the room. The Medallion came from an imp, which is often a familiar for spellcasters. As such, I think that the ideal recipient of this item is probably J23. However, if I was going to hazard a guess as to what it does I would guess that it bestows a level on the person who uses it. I don't think my guess is good enough to guide our action in terms of who uses it (could be a ton of different things), just speculating for my own amusement. |

I've done a search for medallion of evil or anything of the like but to no avail. J23, Hoops give me firm thoughts and we'll make this thing work. I have good theories:
1- Wearer gets a specialty specific bonus 2- Fame bonus OR bad things 1- Cursed 2- Evil is attracted to that person |

I also noticed that KWhit did NOT mention the medallion in the main forum write up but did mention the find of another item as a good thing.

We are evil, imps are evil, the name of the item is Medallion of Evil. And it came from the fountain opposite of the priest that fought us.
I'm confident that this item will be good for our cause. If there are any reservations about using it by the two of you then I'll take it and wear it. |

For a minute, lets pretend that we will not push the button for our own team. Which one do we go for instead? I would say either the other active team (BeastLovers) or the pureheart team that is ahead in the race. I do not see a reason to even consider the third team, they are an afterthought to me at this point. |

J23 has the lowest hit points I believe so I think the medallion of evil is best served around his neck.
