It was kind of a weird situation. He was probably surprised that WVU was content to let over 30 seconds run off to let it ride on a 44 yard attempt rather than try to get closer. It was 3rd and 1, so if Wannstache called a timeout, WVU could run another play, and if they got a 1st down they'd have plenty of time to spike it.

I would be shocked if Peterson left Boise for Virginia.

Unless they back an entire truck full of money, onto a blue turf in front of his house in Boise, that would seem to be a very strange move.

There have been a bunch of "done deal" reports about Peterson the last two years.

As Timmy said, it was 3rd down, and he had two timeouts left. The likelihood of them getting "much closer" when everyone is stacking the line is low (and WVU would probably just try to line up in the middle anyway). I'm making sure I have a shot at getting the ball back, even if only a miracle would help me.

I just meant that WVU probably would have run it up the gut, into a 9 or 10 man front. So, it probably would have been a -1 to +1 yard play (in other words, negligible), with a chance that the big WVU runner breaks through first contact for a solid gainer vs a pretty miniscule chance of a fumble. There were some reasons to do it, but cons to doing it, as well.

Just pre-gaming for the Tech/UGA game.

It's been an amazing day for the underdogs today. Hopefully the Ramblin Wreck takes care of business tonight.

End of 1 and Utah is up 6-0 over BYU but BYU is poised to score.

There have been I think 5 Personal Fouls and 1 unsportsman penalty so far.

MSU is much better than their 5-7 record indicates. I was very impressed when we played them earlier this year. Dan Mullen is a helluva coach.

Missouri - Kansas is quite a shootout. Kansas just tied it at 36 with a 2 pt conversion early in the 4th.

uhhhh yuck....Clemson plays probably their worst 4 quarters of football of the entire year, the worst week to do so.

I only hope the coaching staff uses this to see the same transformation we saw after their last loss.

I know I just woke up from a nap & all but ... WTF did Kansas just do that to themselves?

Now 39-38 KU after giving up a safety with 2:45 left

Although I knew the Tennessee streak over Kentucky was long, I didn't realize it was the longest active streak (24) among teams who play every season.

7-7 with 8 mins left in the Q1 incidentally.

I don't know if I'd go that far. LSU moved the ball on one drive so far. Arkansas moved it on 2. LSU may win, but I'd be surprised if it will be a big or easy win.

Like I said.. LSU smothers Arkansas' offense and then Holliday with a 88 yard punt return for a TD. 17-3 LSU leads.

I accidentally posted this in the recruiting thread:

Louisville fired Steve Kragthorpe today. Some names being tossed around as replacements are Charlie Strong of Florida, Mike Leach of Texas Tech (hard to believe that he would make that move, but he went through an ugly contract issue last offseason, so who knows?), and Houston's Kevin Sumlin. I have also heard that Phillip Fulmer is interested, but I'm not sure he is much of a candidate considering his age and where UofL is, as a program, right now.

Akron's JD Brookhart also got the boot.

I think Sumlin would be the lead candidate there. At least that's what I've heard.

In other news, Arkansas better wake the fuck up soon. Offensive line is laying a major egg. (also lol at the block in the back right in the middle of the replay of the kick return)

I thought that was an obvious one at first too. After the replay still think it could be called, but there was a ref less than 5 yards away looking straight at it, I think he didn't call it because the hand the LSU player pushed the Arky down with was actually in the front of the Arkansas player. But yea, probably should have been called based on the position of the LSU player. Also a weird no call on a face mask earlier to be shortly followed up by a facemask call without a facemask grab. Just another day at the ballpark for SEC refs.

On another note, some LSU players do look a step quicker tonight with the new uniforms, maybe they can make a difference.

I still maintain LSU has only moved the ball on one drive against our defense. They got a TD on that one. They kicked a FG after a KO return and no first downs and then the punt return. If we can settle down and act like we have blocked someone up front, we can get back in this. 14 points is not a lot for this offense. Our offensive woes are attributed to awful O-line blocking and Mallett getting panicky again and missing several throws he doesn't normally miss. I still don't think this is an easy LSU win. At least I hope not.

Oh and agreed on that facemask penalty early on. Pretty obvious.

LSU isn't going to put anyone away with Crowton's inability to put together consistency in play calling.

Mallett isn't looking too sharp on the other side of the ball tonight.

First 9 minutes show several of Tech's flaws - piss poor defense & special teams play that looks more like a mid-sized HS than a D1 school. I'm surprised we didn't lose the ball on the fumble.
