Kessel has signed with Carolina. A three year deal worth 1.3 mil a season, and an outrageous 2 million dollar signing bonus. Yet I had to do it because I need all the help I can get. There is a player and team option that could set him up for 5 years. Alex Bourett (6th overall pick from Crosbys draft) will get signed soon enough too, and with that my top 4 wingers (counting Staal) will all be under the age of 22.

Training Camp note: in 3 scrimmages thus far, Kessel has 8 goals and 3 assists. He has just been flat out dominating the camp and getting all the Hurricane fans excited.

Carolina 0 vs Atlanta 6

Jeff O'Neil, Phil Kessel and Andrew Ladd mark the first line. It doesn't matter at all though as Atlanta simply dominates us. Kessel gets a 7 rating and is - 1 in a proverbial thrashing. (pardon the pun).

Never let the GM run things if you want to see results. My roster is just gutted, and the young guys I do have don't have much chance of succeding right now because of it. If I want to right this ship it's going to take drastic changes as we're currently 0-10.

Some of these ratings are plain weird.

How can a hockey player have a low 8 in agility, yet his balance is a perfect 20?

Hes 6'1 and 149 pounds...and his strength is rated a 20?

explain anyone?

Well...I guess you could take the 20 strength rating to indicate that, for somebody of his age and size, you couldn't get any stronger.

I would also suspect that this is a way you can tell that the kid will evolve into a much bigger player (ie: 6'2" 210lbs) by the time he matures.
