A couple more haikus for consideration:
Question: what better Pumpy pics or Daivd's game A limerick might help (alternate third line: Let debate commence) Werewolf -- where one tries to fool f'n elitists attempting survival You can see I'm stuck on some themes.....

I'm not sure how much I like this one, but we seem to be short on choices for the 8-20 line poem:
We may debate movies or politics We may complain about weather We may clamor for Pumpy pics But games are what bring us together FM, FBCB, BBCF, Second and ten Acronyms abound on our board FOF, OOTP, Puresim and Madden And boxscores to tell us who scored I think it probably needs another couple stanzas but I'm drawing a blank right now........maybe someone can add to it or salvage part of it for something else.

Another Acrostic stab:
W here we waste time H urling opinions around like A hanging curveball T he top posters rule the roost B ut generously allow E veryone to have a say T hough you can expect T hem to have the final word E vidently so their post counts R ise to heights unseen A fter all I t is their destiny

Another WW based poem for your consideration:
Werewolves abound, hunting and killing Like sheep the villagers are aimlessly milling From sinew to sinew torn asunder A trove of flesh the werewolves will plunder Who know who is who Leading old friends to eschew Is there a silver bullet to be found? If not, the commoners will be shredded sans sound Do we villagers have any hopes? None, as barkeep is as cold as Jeff Probst |

I like that, though there seems to be a couple places where it sounds a little awkward. "shredded sans sound" for one. Maybe 'shredded without sound'?

By the way, I was looking on wiki and did not get the impression that it strictly had to be about the word. It does appear that the word needs to somewhat correlate with the subject however.

I like this, too, but I'm not sure it ties completely into the theme of FOFC. The same with the other poems that deal with WW. I guess we have to decide which way we want to go. Either FOFC or WW. |

I've gotta think that at least one other tribe will do a ww theme. I'm wondering, since apparently some of the judges might come from FOFC rather than the WW community that we might have better luck that way. That said, I think we could probably get away with some overlap since we are part of the FOFC community (the unfortunate brother who's locked in the attic, granted, but a part nonetheless!)

I really dig this, so I added another stanza to make it an English sonnet. We may debate movies or politics We may complain about weather We may clamor for Pumpy pics But games are what bring us together FM, FBCB, BBCF, Second and ten Acronyms abound on our board FOF, OOTP, Puresim and Madden And boxscores to tell us who scored A game was promised like nothing before A thread was born that was pure gold Daivd Winters gave us beer tents and more But only a few copies of MF were sold The months roll on and the seasons pass While Schmidty continues to have a bug up his ass |

You could be right, but after what happened last night, I'm taking the challenge rules literally and I worry that WW wouldn't be seen as an FOFC inclusive theme. |

HA! Love it. Should we change 'boxscores' to 'statistics'? Just seems redundant with 'scored' in the same line.

I haven't. I was toying with the idea of not voting in protest, but we might get some kind of punishment for something like that and I don't want to penalize the team.

So I think JE's version of the sonnet should be in for sure. For the limericks that specify FOFC we have the MF one, Marathoner's Dean Houston one and the general one I did (which I think is kind of covered elsewhere). I think the Dean Houston is probably my choice there.

I haven't voted yet, either. I was waiting to see how today went and since we have until 10 PM to decide, I'm probably going to wait until the last minute. I really hate to have to choose because I think everyone has been pulling their weight so far. I just hope that we don't lose this challenge as well and have to vote someone off again.

For FOFC purposes, we have two choices in both the acrostic and the haiku:
Haiku: Pumpy or Question: what better Acrostic: Barkeep or What better ai

While I like my Pumpy haiku, it doesn't follow the 5/7/5 rule. I also really like the Question haiku as well, with the last line of Let debate commence. If we use that haiku, we should either use the Barkeep acrostic or come up with something new. We don't want to use the 'what better' bit twice. |

i like barkeep acrostic, especially if he isn't judging them
and i really liked the question pumpy haiku. We need to focus on the other two now and mark those as 'done' Last edited by LoneStarGirl : 02-06-2007 at 05:57 PM. |
