Everyone's going to hate me (even more), but it might be about 3-4 days before I have my game ready. Of course, it might happen a bit sooner, but that's wishful thinking.
I'm new at doing this and want to make sure I don't screw up the rules and such.

So is schmidty starting his the day after the tourney? Just trying to set up a time table for the return of FOFC WW, as people have expressed concern over this latest push-back.

If schmidty and king still want some more time I would still be happy to point an aspiring GM to a well balanced 9 player game that's interesting (and short).

Concern? Why has no one expressed that to me? I pushed it back because of the lack of a showing by the majority of WW players. I refuse to do mine half-assed, and only delayed it because of lack of interest and a busy time for me. If you wish to replace me, oh master, please do.

I'm sure this makes you ecstatic.
If you had even remotely contributed by signing up for my game, you would have perhaps helped this "lull", even if there weren't enough people. As far as the people that weren't man enough to complain about their "concern" to me, I say too bad. If you people had sent me your thoughts, perhaps I would have got this moving before my now decided date. I would say more, but I won't. Crying to Blade was pretty lame. If Barkeep wishes to get in there and start a game, I just don't care. I will still run my game, and a "mod" like Blade will not scare me off. And no, I am not hostile toward you Blade. I wish you well; however, at this point, I don't quite respect you. If you were to prove that you are dedicated to being more....whatever..., I would love to befriend you. I wish I were an ass-kisser, but I'm just not.

Maybe you should read a little harder. I clearly stated that I would start the game 1-2 days after the Championship game, because that was the preferred time for quite a few WW players, other than the people that "contacted" you privately. Did you not read the thread? I wonder why?

The list on page 1 has been updated with sndvls dropping out and saldana finishing his game. Everything should be current, so if anyone sees any problems let me know.

I am in desperate need of a werewolf player for a game I am hosting on another board. The posting is far less then here, as we're on Day 3 and there are only 188 posts, many of them very short. The player has withdrawn due to computer problems. We are running on a 24/12 schedule with the deadlines being 9 PM/AM Central. We are currently in a day cycle scheduled to end at 9 PM. It is my To Crown a King Game. I would prefer someone who has never played it before, but at this point I'm in a beggars can't be choosers situation. If you're interested please PM me or post here and I'll get you the relevant details. Plus as an added bonus our very own path is playing in the game already so you'll have at least one friendly face.

With Schmidty's game in limbo due to the loss of his grandfather, would it make sense to at least do signups for king's game until we find out where's at? I really really want to finish, but also don't want him to feel an obligation to us in his time of need.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I would love to host a game.
I've played a ton of real life mafia, read every Werewolf game here (for the initial ideas, I didn;t read every post, obviously, because that would be herculean. I read all the way through thelast four or five, though). I already have an idea and roles chosen and written up. I just need a more online experience before I begin, but if you want to put me in the rotation, that'd be great! -Anxiety

Would it make any sense to ask somebody not playing to take over for Schmidty?

No, since Schmidty knows all the things that were planned and done since the game started.. for example if someone had a hidden role that they didn't know about

Yeah I agree that Schmidty will be back to let us know what's going on. And we're in no huge rush, but with king taking signups at least if he does decide he can't continue it gives an option. Which I hope he doesn't take .

Put me down on the list. I have an idea I'm kicking around but if it's not ready by then I've got one to blatantly rip off.

Nah -- it's a different one. But maybe I can ask for some advice for the idea I'm developing here. It would involve more or less equal teams as the Hatfield/McCoy feud. But I'm not sure how to implement that or if I would need a smaller third party (cops?) to go against the two teams to serve as the 'wolves'. Thoughts anyone?

How about - everybody is either a Hatfield or a McCoy. Hatfields can only vote for McCoys, and McCoys can only vote for Hatfields. The anthropologists (disguised as hillbillies) win if they get out alive. |

And of course the hillbillies win if they get rid of all them intellectuals. All anthropologists lynched means peace between the Hatfields and McCoys. |

Interesting. There was actually a romance between one of the McCoys and Hatfields that I was going to use as a lovers role. Maybe if they find each other they could elope and gain their victory condition.....

Thinking about this some more - you could have 2 lynchs per day. The Hatfields lynch a McCoy, and the McCoys lynch a Hatfield. The anthropologists know who they are, but not who the lovers are (neither do the lovers). When both lovers are lynched, the anthropologists win (if they are still alive). When the anthropologists are killed, the hillbillies win.

So the anthropologists would be hidden in both the McCoy and Hatfield clans, right? I like parts of this, but I wonder how much interaction there is with the McCoys lynching Hatfields and vice versa -- it doesn't seem like it would create much tension because if you were a McCoy and on the lynch list from the Hatfields how could you try and convince them that would be a bad idea? I'm starting to think that you need a third team to serve as the wolves, whether anthropologists/deputies/spies/whatever. I recall seeing a game elsewhere that was based on Romeo and Juliet. I'm going to try and find that again and see how this similar situation (Montagues and Capulets) were dealt with.

I'm mulling a concept for WW that I wanted to bat around, see if people would be willing to give it a shot. Basically, I would like to try and run a game that is not a slave to the traditional day/night cycles. Actions can be processed when certain conditions are met (rules would be listed for this game), whether it takes 5 minutes or 5 days to meet the criteria.
If I went this route I would probably need some help from a co-GM but I potentially think this could be a neat change of pace. But if others think this would potentially require too much commitment or worry about missing out on big chunks of game where they don't feel they have a chance to impact the game then I can shelve this idea. So, hoping for some feedback either here or by PM. Thanks. |

I think it has the potential to be a massive success, IF, you get a group that is committed to posting/playing. Players who post 1-2 times a day prob. would have troubles with that set-up, as some more active players might drive scenarios while others are gone, and therefore gain an unfair advantage for whichever side. If the right players are playing, it could be great. If not, things could get ugly.

For the hatfields and mccoys:
There are the hatfields and the mccoys. Seperately there are wolves. Maybe through in a sociologist team in there. The goal is to EITHER eradicate your enemies OR eradicate the wolves. |

The trouble is, either the hatfields and mccoys know who they are, or they don't. If they do, then you end up with mass voting blocks. If they don't, then it's just random. I suppose you could set up so that each Hatfield knows ONE other hatfield, and each mccoy knows one other mccoy - or pair off hatfields and mccoys who know who the other one is. Something like that. |

could work if roles/clans are not revealed upon death. if you know who died, it will be easy to see who voted with the dead person, and keep ganging up on that clan until there were only 2 clans left, then it would just be a question of who has more numbers |
