Yeah this is really starting to piss me off. UW and WSU both on Pac 12 Network today.

BCS Explained, Bowl Championship Series

3. If a bowl loses a host team to the NCG, then such bowl shall select a replacement team from among the automatic-qualifying teams and the at-large teams before any other selections are made. If two bowls lose host teams to the NCG, each bowl will get a replacement pick before any other selections are made. In such case, the bowl losing the No. 1 team gets the first replacement pick, and the bowl losing the No. 2 team gets the second replacement pick. If the Rose Bowl loses both the Big Ten and Pac-12 champions to the NCG, it will receive two replacement picks.

(For the games of January 2011 through 2014, the first year the Rose Bowl loses a team to the NCG and a team from the non-AQ group is an automatic qualifier, that non-AQ team will play in the Rose Bowl.)

A bowl choosing a replacement team may not select any of the following:

A. A team in the NCG;
B. The host team for another BCS Bowl;
C. When two bowls lose host teams, then the bowl losing the number one team may not select a replacement team from the same conference as the number two team, unless the bowl losing the number two team consents.

The Rose Bowl needs a 2nd team in the top 14 out of the PAC-12 if Oregon goes to the NCG. Not seeing it. If Oregon runs the table, USC would have four losses.

Edit: I guess they could have 3 by losing to ASU or UCLA and not going to the PAC12 title game.

OSU would be in the Top 14 if they only lost to Oregon.

ND would play elsewhere since in all likelihood 'Bama is pulled from the SEC bowl game and thus they get to pick first.

Alright, I used to be able to get WatchESPN, but this season I can't. I have AT&T and it even says AT&T sponsors it. I try every different option for provider but still a no go. I searched AT&T's website and got an e-mail address for ESPN. Joy.

Think Johnson is on the way out?

Doubt it, but only because there may not be enough money to pay him to go away.

Fan base is pretty much over it, seems headed toward Hewitt/basketball levels of just-can't-care I think.

I could have phrased it a lot better but I meant to say "Texas, feel free to lose to Kansas.."

I was bummed by the final. I heard some soundbites saying that Texas is at a disadvantage because of the Longhorn Network.

Or Tennessee, at this point.

Until today only one team had ever had three straight 0-5 starts in conference play. There's now two of them, not many miles apart.

Speaking of the SEC, blocked FG by 'Bama and quick march down the field makes it 14-0.

I thought I covered Tennessee with the "completely suck" part. Though that's probably not fair given how closely they played the Gamecocks* (though maybe that says something about the Gamecocks...)

Michigan's last 6 scores have been FGs and there was a missed FG in there as well.

Said a lot more about the Poultry I think. I'm just not sure that "completely suck" adequately covers the hopelessness of UT football right now.

Between the Stanford TD that wasn't, and the mute holding call, it appears a lot of guys not playing in the games have a vested interested in the ND no rushing TD allowed streak continuing.

Stellar front seven, subpar secondary that has hardly been challenged until tonight. Decent running game with a smart mobile QB who has horrible accuracy and the luck of the Irish with the whole Stanford TD situation and Robinson crapping the bed.

What in god's name did Mississippi State do to get to #11 in the country? Other than being in the SEC, what makes them any different than #16 Syracuse or previously unbeaten #15 Rutgers or #24 Ohio? Ohio's win over Penn State is better than any other win any of those teams have.

Yeah...actually, they've played a whole mess of crap, haven't they.

Though the whole rankings system...I'm looking at the ESPN scoreboard, and they keep flashing UPSET ALERT for NEB 7-6 up on UM. Why? They're both 5-2. Michigan is ranked, sure, but they really haven't done that much. Biggest thing is losing to two highly ranked teams.

Michigan is screwed. Robinson is out and they have Bellomy in. He's like the backup QB who holds the clipboard and you never want to see play. Case in point, he's 0-6 with an INT. I wonder if Hoke is hell bent on not having Gardner being a QB.

Not sure. They switched back and forth playing for a couple of plays but then Robinson was done. Nebraska is only getting FGs, but Bellomy is 0-9 so...16-6 Nebraska.

Bellomy is 2-17 with 3 INTs on the season. Yes, he's more likely to have the opponent catch the ball than his own teammate.

Don't get me wrong, this is an impressive win. . . but the announcers started talking about the win with about 14 minutes left and OU driving to tie the game. They must have said "there is still time for OU to win" about forty times in the last quarter of a one score game. Meanwhile, Herbstreet just talked about how ND is the most impressive team this week. Look, I don't really like KState either, but I think they just slaughtered yet another top 20 team today.

I'll admit it, I didn't think ND had a chance in hell of winning this game. They have impressed me beyond belief and it is clear to me this is a BCS team now on merit. I think they are going to USC with a chance to go to the title game. (and if that title game is ND vs Alabama, I'll be pissed at not being able to cheer for a team in the champ game again)

But I really hated listening to the announcers this final quarter. That was the most painful quarter of football I have listened to in a long, long time.

Either an amazing play to find a receiver or incredibly luck to have someone where he was throwing it.

Difference being, I think, that Texas Tech was maybe a top 20 team, whereas Oklahoma has been one all year. Three weeks ago TT wasn't even ranked.

edit to add: Even with this loss OU is still a top 20 team,maybe top 15. TT may not even be in the top 25 after today.

maybe so, but 14th in the country is 14th in the country. Besides, the same KState team beat OU on the road as well, so that does not give ND some major advantage over KState.
