Looks like you are off to a nice start with the Raiders - I don't think anyone would expect a winning record in the first 1.5 years with that roster.

Thomas Jones wants the ball more!

As we head into the 2nd half of the 2007 season, I'm wondering if we can put some serious wins together and progress towards a playoff spot.

The loss to the Colts hurt, but I didn't expect a win (my confidence was high after the San Diego win though) I did expect a closer game though.

We are #12 in rushing offense. (+20 better than last year)
We are #20 in passing offense. (-2 from last year)
We are #23 in rushing defense. (+5 better than last year)
We are #5 in passing defense. (+18 better than last year)

We are 20th in total offense.
We are 5th in total defense.

DC Percy McNeil is doing a tremendous job so far this year.

Thanks, I'm still not confident at the QB position, but we've made strides in other areas already this year.

Jones was out last game, and I think he's done so well in avg yds per carry with LaMont Jordan taking some of the load. It's a good 1-2 combo thus far. I would like him to get a tad bit more carry wise though.

Player is on my team - which in this case was a mistake.

With 4 games to go we are 7-4, in 2nd place behind San Diego.

QB Andew Walter is still out for 3 more weeks and I can already see we miss him.

Should be fun down the stretch!

Thanks! We are definitly going to need it. We have some key players out, so we'll need to sneak a win or two with Walter out.

Oakland (11-5) (-1) at Cincinnati (11-5)

We beat Cincinnati 31-10 in Week 13 with backup QB Lester Ricard at the helm.

Rushing Yards per Game: CIN (5th) OAK (29th)
Passing Yards per Game: CIN (3rd) OAK (17th)

Rushing Yards Allowed per Game: CIN (2nd) OAK (21st)
Passing Yards Allowed per Game: OAK (6th) CIN (30th)

Total Offense: CIN (4th) OAK 21st)
Total Defense: OAK (10th) CIN (19th)

Key Injuries:

(CIN) QB Carson Palmer (strained elbow tendon) OUT
(CIN) C Eric Ghiaciuc (repetitive concussion syndrome) OUT
(CIN) SS Dexter Jackson (pulled calf muscle) DOUBTFUL

(OAK) FL Randy Moss (broken toe) PROBABLE
(OAK) LT Robert Gallery (ruptured elbow tendon) OUT
(OAK) RT Langston Walker (sprained knee) QUESTIONABLE
(OAK) SS Derrick Gibson (shin splints) QUESTIONABLE
(OAK) RB Michael Bush (sprained ankle) PROBABLE
(OAK) LG George Batiste (strained triceps muscle) PROBABLE
(OAK) LT Theo Watson (pulled calf muscle) OUT

With QB Carson Palmer out, backup QB Joey Harrington will get the start. He's started his first game last week against the Ravens, throwing for 123 yards and 1 TD for a qb rating of 66.7 in a losing effort, 26-7.

Our key will be to pressure Harrington, and focus on the run with RB Rudi Johnson who ran for 1396 yards this season, good for 7th in the league.

We need our receivers to come up big today as well as our defense needs to create some turnovers. We have forced 30 turnovers this year, good for 6th in the league.

Should be a fun game to watch!

Minnesota is favored by 3 and I'll take the Bengals. I don't think Carson Palmer and this great offense will have any trouble with the Minnesota Vikings.

Retirees

RB Thomas Jones - this is terrible news as he was our #1 RB.
TE Kyle Brady - again, we lose another starter.
FL Eddie Kennison - a former 1st round pick (18) (STL) hangs 'em up.
LDT Warren Sapp - another 1st round pick (12) (TBY) retiress and leaves us a gap.
DE Lance Johnstone

Wow, some serious holes just opened up on this team and I'm left scratching my head.

I get 4 phone calls from teams wanting to know how happy I am in Oakland:

Detroit
Green Bay
Jacksonville
Tennessee

The thought of GM'ing in Green Bay strikes me, or should I say makes me feel important, but I'm the kind of man that has a goal of going to the Super Bowl when I accept a team's GM position. Thanks, but no thanks.

Our staff still has contracts and I have no problems with any of them going into the 2008 season.

Our stadium is still in "excellent" shape and our turf is rated "very good". Parking is just "fair" and I still want to wait another year before asking the public for money.

Ticket prices will remain the same, except for luxury boxes which will go up $1,000 to $52,000.

I send last year's 2nd round pick RB Michael Bush to the Summer League. It was close between him and LG George Batiste, but with the loss of Thomas Jones, we'll need all the help at RB we can.

I think about franchising SS Derrick Gibson as he had an excellent year for us with 113 tackles, but I think I'll wait to see what his value is and try to sign him if I can get him for what I did last year.

The Bengals GM gives me a call and wants to trade for CB Fabian Washington.

Cincinnati would send MLB Ahmad Brooks 34/57 and their 3rd round (32) draft pick to Oakland for CB Fabian Washington 66/66. No Thanks!!

Walter is an RFA, so he'll be resigned. That leaves us with a need for a backup.
Code:
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntrct Jordan, LaMont 34 RB 8 45 45 2 yrs Bush, Michael 44 RB 2 34 49 2 yrs
Can these two get it done? Not sure, so we might look for one via FA, either way we need a great starter or decent backup.
Code:
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntrct Dodge, Dusty 41 FB 3 34 41 --- Castille, Tim 33 FB 2 24 39 2 yrs
Dusty is an RFA and will be back for another season. We are good here.

We need another starter and a backup.

Stewart is an RFA and will be signed. Brad Ekwerekwu is cut. We need an FL backup an SE backup and another FL or SE backup.
Code:
Player # Pos Start Exp Current Estimate Future Estimate Cntrct Grove, Jake 64 C 5 44 44 --- Morris, Chris 61 C 3 25 47 1 yr.
Definitly going to look for a great center in FA.

Gallery is out for another 18 weeks, so we need a starting LT to take his place for most of the year, we also need a starting RT. Theo Watson is an RFA and will be signed to fill a backup role.

Cap Room Lost Next Year (to old contracts): $40,000
Cap Room Required Next Year: $50,260,000

There are 3 directions I could go for our 25th pick overall in the draft:

Tackle, Defensive Tackle, or Outside Linebacker

I'll see how FA goes and then evaluate our draft position.

Hey, as someone notorious for starting failed dynasties, I can really appreciate those who keep them up. And it doesn't hurt that the Raiders are my 'other' team in the NFL. So fix em, dammit.

Yeah, interaction with forum members also help me to keep involved. During the week the dynasty suffers, but today I was off work.

I have MANY deserted dynasties.
