True, but I always take the long view with these things and feel that not voting D1 should be discouraged, whether there is an in-game penalty or not AND it feels more substantial than most D1 reasons.

We've got a fair crowd. Let's get one more on Danny. Though I obviously was wrong that illini was on schmidty. EF? Care to join us?

BK, I think the save is because we did have a wolf lined up in our three person vote today. I'll do the math when I've got a little more time (up against deadline) but if we had a wolf then I felt like I had a 50/50 shot on EF. Much better than usual D1 odds.

So you're saying I'm a wolf then? Cause I'm pushing it to someone I know to be a villager?

No. I am pushing for it to be someone who isn't around D1. A favorite criterion of mine.

So if there was a wolf in danger, it would be very appealing to introduce a new candidate. Danny is a good, solid player in these games and if he isn't a wolf then they will be thrilled to be rid of him in this spot.

BK, I won't be looking at you first tomorrow (assuming we're both around) - I'll be hoping to turn the attention back on the people that were in the line of fire today and who were at risk near the deadline.

Of course, if Danny does get the votes and is a wolf then I'm going to have some tap dancing to do for sticking up for the guy who wasn't in the thread.

I can't see Danny being a wolf missing a day one vote and we gain nothing by a vote for the guy not here last minute switch. Let's find out about the three main vote getters today at least.

This is always the argument and we've seen it proven false. Heck we've seen it false with people playing on that fact. And besides that it creates a bad incentive. Being absent D1 does not help the villagers.

dola: though I probably screwed the pooch since I see Schmidty didn't come back into the thread, I would have assumed that a fellow wolf woul have directed him back here to vote for Danny.

Yes but if we vote him based on that and he is a villager we lose two days as we try to figure out what happened on day one.

Schmidty came into the thread and did nothing. I think that augers for him taking his ball and going home as a villager, but we'll find out soon enough.

Eay. If he is a villager we go down a day and we learn nothing about the votes that were on the three present candidates. Which means we have to start from scratch again.

The only way we learn anything on D1 is if one of the potential lynches is a wolf. Otherwise D1 tells us nothing, really. So if Schmidty comes up a villager we're in the same boat as we'd be if Danny were to be lynched and come up a villager.

Though he could have easily switched his vote from me to hoops to save himself and at least force some sort of tie (or let the enemy vote decide it). Why not do that at least if he is a villager?

Just one day into this nast business, and it seems there are no limits to the number of candidates you all are willing to sacrifice...so long as it is not your own necks on the line.

It starts with hoopsguy and EagleFan drawing attention, but it is a third entry, Schmidty, that draws the most attention. As the minutes draw down, even Danny, who took a sick day today, seemed to possibly be in danger, and no one with a vote could sit there quietly.

A mad rush at the end, though, put it beyond all finality: the choice is Schmidty.

"I implore you," Schmidty pleads. "Don't do this to me. I need this job and this company. I will lose everything!"

His pleas fall on deaf ears. With a somber finality, Schmidty picks up his pen and signs away his interest in the corporation and his resignation papers. A security guard escorts him from the board room.

Schmidty was the Chief Legal Counsel, and was the cultist!

Final Tally, By Vote Points:

Schmidty-- 6 vote points
Danny-- 3 vote points
EagleFan-- 3 vote points
hoopsguy-- 2 vote points

Schmidty's interest was 9.1% of the corporation and has been re-distributed.

And turns out voting Schmidty off was a good move for the villagers, so I'm glad it went down that way. Losing the cultist hurts the wolves.

Absolutely, I've never had any use for our Legal Counsel ... been keeping us from really driving the bottom line in the manner I would like to see.

Now there are a couple of other folks that I would like to see removed, mainly for gross incompetence. But protocol demands that you each get another 24 hours of compensation so I'll just wait it out.

As the board gathers in the morning of Day Two to consider a new candidate, the Chairman of the Board stands up grimly before the beginning of deliberations.

"I have terrible news," the Chairman said. "Last night, officers from the SEC, the Securities Exchange Commission, executed a search warrant on DaddyTorgo's villa in the Hamptons, and they found evidence incriminating him in various illegal money siphoning activities. He has been arrested, and we had to fire him this morning and use execute powers to sell off his interest."

DaddyTorgo, the Chief Financial Officer, has been removed from the game! He owned 10% of the corporation at the time of his removal.

DAY TWO HAS BEGUN

Ok so hoops was DT's enemy. Was there something during the day that would clue that in and suggest hoops killed DT?
