An interesting stat line from the NO @ ARI game. So far, the Cards have 126 net yds on offense. Old Emmit Smith has rushed for 59 yds and passed for 21, accounting for 63% total offense!!! Not bad for an old man!

This one is shaping up to be a dandy. 13-10 Birds at the half. Each team has punted only once.

Tomlinson rushes for a 1st on 3rd and 6 with under 2 in the half. Chew up clock and punch it in!

That's an offensive explosion for the Dolphins. And all in one half to boot. Come on man what do you want a whole touchdown?

Nice point by Randy Cross to show how inept and idiotic the Dolphins playcalling is.

Yup, Carolina would probably be winning if they were turnover free, they really need to force one in this 2nd half.

Tons of penalties today too.

In all seriousness, that wasn't ejection-worthy by either side.

Agreed.

The # of penalties is becoming laughable. Carolina is committing them in some key situations though, 3rd downs, on nice 1st down gains, etc.

Defenses and penalties have hurt both teams in the 2nd half. Still 13-10 with 13 minutes to play.

Pennington has taken 2 very dumb sacks today, both of which pushed the Jets ouf of -field goal range. 17-9 with 12.44 to go.

Don't worry about it, the Dolphins aren't winning this game. 8 points may as well be 20, theres no difference.

General Mike,

If you come across this, are you still angry about the Giants dropping Collins and drafting Manning? I realize he hasn't done anything yet, but I thought from day 1 that Warner would be no worst than Collins... you can't argue with 3-1 right now.

How far has he sunk?

Is he in the 'token goal line back' role?

Or the Ron Dayne-like 'ONLY if the starter is hurt does he get in the game' role?

You can knock me over with a feather right now. He just took one for 13 yards.

To answer your question, I think he's somewhere between "token-goal-line" and "only-if-the-starter-is-hurt".

Curtis Martin just passed Thurman Thomas - now #10 on the all time rushing list. Needs ~40 to pass Franco Harris.

Of course, he's not the Birds' worst bust. We ARE talking about a team that made Aundray Bruce the 1(1) pick.

Of course, now that I'm bad-mouthing T.J., he's running the ball better than he's run it in his entire career on this drive. LOL.

Martin is now gutting the Dolphins, he's probably within 20 of Franco Harris now. Under 3 minutes left, this game is all but over.

Hmm, Dolphins may have just intercepted the ball (Why were they even passing?)

It was ruled incomplete, now being challanged.

edit: call upheld, the Jets dodged a bullet. Again, WHY were they passing on 2nd and 6 when they're plowing down the field and eating up clock?
