By the way, paging any artists. If you feel ever so inclined to make a set of good looking jerseys whose colors can be easily swapped around (I'm actually doing it with transparencies right now - overlaying the various color options)...give me a hollar. My artwork ain't great.

I had 4 scholarships available and thought I offered all 4. When I look at My Recruits, I've signed 2, I was rejected by 1, I have 1 offer still outstanding, and I have 2 scholarships to offer. Not sure why that is.

From the recruiting emails, is it possible to have the names link to the recruit's page? I'd like to see the player I missed out on.

Edit: Never mind, figured out the scholarships. 1 offered out of 2 available.

For the rankings, there's a list of eligible teams, but not all the teams eligible are on the ballot.

On the ballot, there's at least one team that isn't on the eligible list.

So that whole thing is a clusterfuck unless I'm doing something wrong on my end.

I have a feeling it's on my end. It probably doesn't like the fact that the season starts with no one ranked. I'll take a look.

I have no freakin' clue WHY, 'cause I'll be damned if I could see any difference in the two queries, but I re-copied one to the other and they sync up now.

I'm trying to figure out a way to do that (WITHOUT changing the database table, that is).

Figured out a way to do it on the recruiting news page. I rock.

Yeah, I dunno either. They do sync up now, but some teams that were previously on the 'eligible' list aren't any longer.

Maybe copying them over just re-generated both the ballot and the eligibility list?

Nah, I'm sure there was one little thing organized differently somewhere that I just didn't see.

Really, what it boils down to is the fact that this early in the season such a list of eligible teams is hard to generate, since there's so little seperation. It should go much better once the first polls come out.

And if it doesn't, I'll look at it again and fiddle with it.

I didn't think recruits would commit so quickly, or I'd have offered Thad Hoecker a scholly. Really wanted that man! Damn you, Point Pleasant!

Yeah, it's meant to be fairly rapid for guys who're high on you from the get go. Went that way so people who are looking for plan B guys could nab recruits moderately quickly later on in the season.

I think maybe they sign a tad too quickly. The first week I offered out my 3 schollies all three said OK, even the one guy pursued by 3 other teams and not initially very high on me.

I had no idea they'd be committing so quickly. I didn't offer anyone assuming I actually had to recruit them some before they commit.

May tweak it in the offseason a bit. It'd be unfair at this point to muck with it.

FYI - There was a bug in training that mis-represented the results of a player's Rebounding skill training. They received the appropriate amount of training, it's just showing up wrong on the player's training report.

And congrats to University of Indiana - Gary for being the first #1 team.

Well, at least they have something to cheer about in Gary, IN. Hasn't been this much excitement since Roosevelt won our last track meet.

Oops.

So as I said, was troubleshooting training a couple days ago, and inadvertently left a line in there that, as you may have noticed, made it run....a lot.

Luckily, that's why the gods invented backups. Player stats have been restored to what they should have been, though this last game on Monday, since I was apparently oblivious, had some heavily trained players at the helm.

I was wondering why a few of my players were performing so damn well last game. Heh. Apologies.

The Duel in the Desert: Volume 1

The 14th Ranked Primm CC High Rollers will travel to Palm Desert, CA Wednesday to face the UC Palm Desert Fighting Trout. Led by Head Coach AnalBumCover, the High Rollers shocked the college basketball world by receiving a national ranking in the most recent polls despite being considered among the Worst Overall Players in the preseason.

"These kids earned the national ranking," said Coach Cover. "The way they started the season, you'd think they took the preseason outlook very personally, and wanted to prove to the world that they're not the worst. We just came from a tough loss against (4-0) Medway, but we'll see how the kids recover from it against the Fish. It's a budding rivalry, this is. And it'd be interesting to see how our guys respond."

UCPD Head Coach Coffee Warlord was unavailable for comment.

UCPD Head Coach Coffee Warlord is very available for comment.

In an exclusive interview, the Fighting Trout Head Coach noted, "Credit to the kids over in Vegas, but they are about to learn they simply aren't in our weight class."

CW had no comment when asked if that was a jibe against forward Stumpy Mumford's weight.

Not Yet (tm). I actually have a Health stat in the database, and it's programmed to affect training / performance quality, but it's always at 100% right now.

The reason both that and fouling out aren't in the game yet is because I haven't got a good way to draw from players outside of the depth chart, in case of injury/fouling out. (IE - Say you have 2 players on your SG depth charge, and both of them become ineligible via injury or fouls over the course of a game - bad things will happen.)

Just pointing it out for you. I'm 5th, so I'm cool with it

I did see some teams shooting like .288 from deep, so maybe shrink the disparity in range

Might be that the 'open' 3 pointers are a bit too easy, and the contested ones are fine. Hmm.

Good update for Texarkana Tech, improved to 5-1, showed up on the potential rankings page, and got a commit from potential top 5 shooter in this class, PG Johnathon Kreft.

Now let's see how we do with these other two, one I feel pretty good about, the other might be a bit of a stretch.

Great game ACHE. Went down to the final possession.

Primm CC has now dropped the last 3 games.

My center missed an uncontested layup in the final second because he didn't want to force overtime, and U of Gary loses 89-87.

I think I'd rather lose by 10.

I dunno about 'smoke,' but I thought we might win that one by 8-10.

I thought we HAD won that one by high single digits, but the way the score displayed threw me. Grumble. Need to go smack the snot out of the next team we face.

Oh, I forgot to remove those from the log. That was from the previously mentioned training updates running a whole bunch (I had forgotten to disable it from running repeatedly after testing some things on it).

They're not legit - just showing up in the syslog.

Speaking of training, I noticed all my guys' ratings are unchanged, including GPAs. The training report showed the +'s and -'s differently than last week (and I know that these are not indicative of an immediate change in rating) but with nobody's GPA moving I think something might be up, unless you froze those for the time being.
