Maybe this explains why Brad Richards has completely sucked this year.

That seems like a stinging indictment of the Jets.

"Woah, Lindy... you just lost at home to the Jets. Enough is enough."

Render and I were at the game last night. I honestly have to say for the first two periods it looked like the Sabres were a junior team. The Jets had their way with them. 3rd period they decided to wake up.

We have the talent, right now they are not playing up to it.

Man, I'd love for the Oilers to make a play for Steve Ott.

Firing Ruff likely means they aren't throwing in the towel but if I'm Tambi I make a few phone calls to see if Ott were available. How do the Buffalo fans feel about him so far this season?

+1, out of all the players last night it was Ott, Kaleta, Vanek and Pomenville that were playing their hearts out.

hasn't been the same since his injury IMO. i don't know if it's just a funk or residual from injury.

Well, I'd be willing to shell out for plane tickets for Ott and Myers to come out here to have a visit.

How about we send back Gagner, Klefbom, and a 2nd round pick (I hope I don't have to buy a seat for it, but I will if I have to)?

That was...I have no idea. Just when I see things the officials call (or don't) and think it's the most insane thing ever, the players prove they can do better...or worse, depending on your POV.

I think I need to change my posts-per-page setting to something like 5 just to bounce that auto-playing video off the current page. Super annoying.

I took a slight, twisted joy in the Pens blowing the game multiple ways last night.

A vocal minority in Pittsburgh loves to skewer Fleury for ANY goal he lets in. Alot like in many situations, the backup QB is always the best option. The backup should always be in net in place of Fleury.

Screaming "Put in the backup!" is roughly the equivalent of "Free Barabbas!"

Wait until your backup goes 8-0 to start his career. A lot of Ducks fans on blogs I frequent seem to think Hiller is the antichrist right now and the entire reason we haven't made the playoffs in the last few years

They are, of course, quite stupid. The Ducks just have two terrific goaltenders now. Which is great.

Sidenote, I guess the Ducks just brought Brian Burke back. Yeah, that Brian Burke. As a scout.

Isles waive DiPietro today

If he's bought out...and not an amnesty buyout, because I think the Isles need to have players eat up some cap space...

he'll receive, and count towards the Isles cap, $1.5M per season, for the next 18 years!

Malkin experiencing "concussion-like symptoms" after a totally innocent play vs Florida last night. The way his head snaps back in this is pretty nasty.

Was said to have trouble walking to the locker room last night, and severe headaches today.

DVRing center ice is killing me... I have not seen the end of a game in quite a while! grrrrrrr

i understand they need to guess timeslots, but they have been wrong for every avs game this year. just extend them all an hour.

that being said, they loose every game, so whatever.

Does your DVR not allow extending recording time beyond the timeslot provided?

I've had different problems recording myself. My U-Verse is flaky about recording Hurricanes games for whatever reason, perhaps it's because they're usually on the alternate Fox Sports feed (rather than the broader Fox Sports South feed, they're usually on the one narrowly targeted on the Carolinas). Last year, it wouldn't record games at all (just said "Will Record" without actually doing it) and this year, I have to set up the recording in advance to get it to record. If I start recording the game after the timeslot starts up, it won't record. Annoying as hell.

Damn, that has to be frustrating. I have U-verse for Internet, but not for TV (Thank God...)

dola, top 3 make playoffs automatically, then last 4 are wild cards. so it can be 5 in one division and 3 in the other.

Immediate reaction is 16/14 split is dumb. Plus what happens when either a new franchise or Phoenix ends up in QC or Hamilton?

I'm looking forward to having many more games that start at 7 PM, rather than 9 or 10 PM. And more PIT games at home, those have been fantastic environments.

I was wondering if/when that would come up in the thread. But since I have never contributed to this thread over the past couple of seasons I felt like I should wait for someone else (anyone?!?!?) to mention it.

Kane has been a completely different player this year. Guys like Kruger, Stalberg, and Leddy are no longer "cover your eyes!" material every time they step on the ice. And getting remarkably consistent goaltending from Crawford and Emery qualifies as a really pleasant surprise.

Habs just traded EriK Cole for Michael Ryder and a 3rd rd pick. Nice trade for the Habs, Cole started slow and this opens some nice cap space, since Ryder's expires at the end of the year and Cole has 2 more years on his deal.
