I don't see Smith as anything but a different kind of average QB compared to Fitz. Of course, if he keeps taking shots like he thinks he's a WR or a RB, then this won't be much of a debate for long!

Safety? Denver's D is just rolling.

The Denver D is nasty. I've been saying it all year. The numbers for the Packers tonight are just staggering. 140 total yards? 50 yards net passing? Good lord. . .

The story of the night, however, was the Broncos offense. This isn't a top 5 offense anymore and probably won't be. it can be a top 15 offense though and if it is, this team suddenly becomes scary.

I'll need to see a lot more than a game against a banged up secondary, but that was a hell of a start.

Peyton looked really good. Very good accuracy, decisiveness, and zip on the ball.

Are the Steelers serious with this "Bengals were cheering the LeVeon Bell injury" angle?

Because despite the obvious ludicrousness of this line of reasoning, AND the clean nature of the hit on Bell, I can't think of a team that has dished out more cheap shots than Pittsburgh over the years, including many against Cincinnati.

So they can just fuck right off.... especially Mike Mitchell, who whooped it up after destroying Marvin Jones (legally, I might add) in the 3rd quarter.

Lions should probably trade Calvin to someone and then move Stafford to the Jets. I imagine Stafford is still worth a decent amount and those two moves start to clear up their cap by quite a bit(after their dead cap charges hurt in 2016l

Jones is tough as nails to come back from that and make a tough catch over the middle shortly afterwards.

I was hoping someone grabbed him on waivers but seems more likely that he'll be on the practice squad which, to be honest, is probably the best thing for him at this stage.

Anybody who is taking shots every time the Colts turn the ball over is probably dead by now.

Interesting choice for a challenge. He was down before contact and had control of the ball. It was contact that made him lose the ball but since he was down when contact was made that instantly makes him down by contact. I can't see anyway that is overturned.

I honestly am not sure it's a downgrade. Kaepernick has looked completely awful this season, except against the terrible defenses of Baltimore and New York.

I've watched more 49ers games this season than I care to admit just due to Hayne, and Kaep has thrown some of the most inaccurate uncontested throws I've ever seen from an NFL QB. It's 90% mental IMO, and they're better off sitting him, let Gabbert take a beating, improve the OLine in the offseason, and hope for the best next year.

Unless the management is even more inept than I'm giving them credit for (and that's a LOT of inept), there is a 0% chance that Kaepernick is even on the team next season.

Dola, but with them going nowhere and it being a half year trial I would be okay with a deal that gets rid of Bradford. I see that preseason was a mirage and once real pressure started he is a fish out of water.

I remember two years ago when Whisenhunt was the front runner for the Lions' job. Most people wanted him really badly, but then he went to Tennessee and the Lions got Caldwell.

I don't think it's worked out well for either franchise. Caldwell will be gone after this year, too.

The strange thing about Kaepernick is that the element of his game that made him such a promising player and a success for a short period of time was his running and the fact he was a legit threat to break off a 70 yard run every time he dropped back - and that seems to have completely disappeared this year.

I don't know if that's a change in coaching scheme, a decision made on high that he was too valuable to be running and taking hits or a decision made in his own head that he was too valuable to be running and taking hits, but he was never going to be successful as a drop back passer. It just doesn't make any sense to me at all.
