I can't believe App State and East Carolina blew wins.

UGA showing much to be excited about. That interception by a true freshman in his first game was special.

ACC is in mid-season hot garbage form.

And, re: Malaki Starks -- and that interception was made by a kid who was more of a running/wildcat style QB in high school (he played in the secondary but it wasn't the bulk of his workload)

He is obviously very coach-able. If he stays healthy, he is going to be something special.

Darned fine athlete for sure.

(played HS just up the road from me at Jefferson, so I'm pretty familiar. Saw him in person ... once? twice? )

App State had more yards in the 4th quarter today than Iowa & SDSU had in 4 quarters ... combined.

28-3, exactly where you want a Georgia team at the half….

Hogs up 14-0 over Cincy at the half.

I'd like to say we were dominant but not really. We've done well but Cincy missed a couple plays & 2 FGs that could have hurt. Commentators were asking if maybe Cincy will change QBs.

But good, solid Hog football.

So, I'm guessing Dan Lanning wasn't more important than having first round NFL draft picks on every position on defense then?

PAC-12, in wanting to punish UCLA for leaving, gave them the 11 am start in 105 degree heat in Pasadena. Bowling Green has had about 30 player injuries due to cramps. It's been criminal to have this game played, just as bad for the Bowling Green trainer for not being ready for this game. No canopies were even brought by the staff. It's a empty Rose Bowl.

10 TDs in the 4th quarter. Ridiculous.

10 TD's in one quarter in a loss has to be a record, right?

To be fair, this was probably one of the worse match-ups he could have had as a first game opponent. Georgia is basically facing the same defensive set they do every day in practice, except they are smaller, slower and don't the defense down as instinctive. I think Lanning will do a good job in Oregon given some time.

Probably a little of both.

Edit: There is talk that Georgia is going to retire Bo Nix's number after the game.

Hogs win 31-24.

I would have liked a more convincing win but Cincy was favored so I'll take the win.

We had to burn 5 min on the last series and they couldn't stop our run. We had flashes of brilliance in the run and passing game. Our weakness is our secondary; if Cincy was more accurate, we could have easily lost the game.

You were a 6.5 point favorite. Where did you see that Cincy was favored?

Yeah, there's no way a ranked SEC team was a home dog to a P5 team.

I can confirm Arkansas was -6.5 based off the rather large bet I just won...I am actually surprised UC made it so competitive.

Seems like we're on our 93rd new definition of targeting. Also seems like they're getting a little faster at reviewing. Good no-call, or good new definition, if that's why it wasn't called.

Florida just had a pretty impressive drive against #7 Utah. Just ran through them to make it 22-19 (w/2pt conversion).

Think they have the momentum now with 13 min left.

Richardson on that 2-pointer was siiiiiick.

If this is Florida 2022, they're likely no worse than 2nd in the East and 3rd in the SEC.

Now whether this is who they actually are, that's still a question

Against my better judgment I took Utah -2.5 on the road against an SEC team. I trust Wittingham. Thats about it.

Coastal keeps the magic alive for another week with a 38-24 win over Army. QB McCall only threw for 172 yards though but no INT and 3 TD's,

The game set a new attendance record for Coastal over 21,000, so lots of people excited by them right now

It’s nice to see that Gene Chizik has really tightened up that Tar Heel defense. Admittedly, they have not yet played against a Power Five opponent, but they’re only giving up 42.5 points per game and 494 yards per game so far.

I didn't watch the whole game because the FL-Utah game was fun (it also looked better on my TV where the OSU-ND game seemed washed out), but I did watch the 4Q and OSU was impressive. ND couldn't stop their run and it seemed OSU was breaking tackles each time.

But then, they've yet to match up with the speed & defense of a tier-1 SEC team

I'm biased because the Hogs had a good win, but this was a good Sat for football fans.

SEC is 14-0 with this week's games. Not sure when the last time that happened.

Looking forward to the LSU-FSU game tonight.

Huskies hired the right guy. What a difference from last years nightmare. Pennix Jr. is the real deal if he can stay healthy and with 3 picks we are back to being DBU. Would like to see the third down defense cleaned up a bit but over all a great showing against a team that is no push over. A tune up against Portland St next week before the real test comes 9/17 when we host Michigan state.

Taylor, our punter, has a charity NIL where you can buy a t-shirt that says exactly that "Punting is winning". It has his name and number on the back.

I own it and will be wearing it "proudly" this week.

Rumor I heard has BF being promoted to co-HC after that stellar offensive performance, believe there is a raise and extension involved as well.

A handful of decently entertaining football games on the opening weekend and then it wraps up with ... FSU vs LSU and Clemson vs GT?

Who in the hell thought "oh those will be a GREAT way to wrap up week one"?

These two teams might very well have less offensive talent than Iowa.

The only thing entertaining about these two is laughing at the ineptitude.

I'm down to trying to decide which was more of an empty cupboard: LSU now or Tennessee at it's lowest point.

It ain't Georgia Tech post-Johnson (nor soon to be post-Collins) but it's closer to that than it is to relevancy

Aw com'on, it's not that bad. I'm a Hog fan and I know bad!! But agree, they are definitely not as "crisp" as UGA or OSU.

But thank God it seems that FSU has done away with all those tomahawk "I did something good" helmet stickers. Players had so many of them at one time that it was laughable.

I honestly don't think these two could combine current rosters and be more than a .500 team.

LSU appears to have literally nothing, FSU might have a little bit of a QB but apparently they got his receivers from the parking lot just before kickoff.

Auburn probably beats both by multiple scores and I ain't what you'd call high on Auburn.

Roughing the passer/targeting, pass interference but still a great FSU one-handed TD catch.
