True story. We had to change gears really early on because our original mole bailed. Since the first mission was such an abortion, I knew I had to reassign the role quickly, so I picked path12 at random and we talked it over. He agreed and we had a lot of fun working together for the rest of the game. If that had happened later in the game it might have been a bigger problem. So early, it didn't affect anything at all.

I played a total balls to the wall strategy. I gave 100% on every challenge and never tried to get people to believe I was the mole. I knew that carried risk since I couldn't trick anyone into losing the quiz, but it was my plan. There were a number of times I was sure Thomkal was the mole. The miss on the bombing run seemed unnecessary. I think you waited to drop your bomb until you got someone's advice (path12?). I found the advice to be obviously bad and you dropped quickly. You also suggested paying for many hints in the minesweeper game. The suggestion of Seattle for the Toronto picture seemed like a good way to innocently trick us into ending the challenge. I also thought your frustration and self-removal of the evader challenge was a ploy to not be helpful. I was fooled big-time.

Thomkal seemed so over the top in that challenge that I actually stopped thinking he was the mole somewhere around then. I figured no way the mole would be that obvious.

Well my intention when I began the game was to play much like you, trying to help the team win the most money it could. I did want to "throw" one or two challenges though to make people suspicious of me. The first one I "threw" really though was the Codebreakers. The bombing mission was interesting. I really was trying to win that one for us. But I really was unsure about my last move. So I partly asked because I wasn't sure and partly because I wanted to see if one of my two choices for the Mole would bite and try to get me to lose. Sami answered and was wrong, so that's why I had him up there with Path as the Mole.

But I changed my strategy when I saw how good you and Pass in particular were in the challenges. I really was stumped on some of them, so I thought I'd use that to my advantage by making me look suspicious by not doing well in them. A lot of the time I would just sit back and let you and Pass and the others do most of the work. I knew you and Pass were not the Mole, and based on that early poll where we judged who you thought was the Mole and who you thought would win, I figured you two thought Path was the Mole too. So I set out to "Out-Mole" the Mole.

The Minesweeper game though I was trying to win, especially after Path and Sami hit mines early on. I asked for clues because I thought we needed them. I wasn't the only one confused on that mission, and getting the clues helped us to make sure we had the orientation correct. Hitting the mine when I took a slightly different path was due to me being rushed at the time and not plotting it correctly. But it made people suspicious of me so it kinda worked for me though I was annoyed I hit the mine.

Guessing Seattle was a quick first instinct kinda guess, but also served to see if Path would try something since I knew he was from Seattle. When you said Toronto, I saw how stupid my guess was and quickly verified Toronto, and worked on that building in the El Paso picture to make up for it. I don't know think we would have got that one otherwise.

The evader challenge, don't get me started. I was so trying to win that one-we really would have had you boxed into a corner had Pass followed my directions. So I was annoyed there and then Pass asked us to stop giving such detailed information at the end there so I just shut up and let the Mole and sami call the shots. I think I accidently gave the wrong cooridnates near the end there at one point, so sorry about that one.

LOL, it really was an accidental not a purposeful reveal of your location, but it worked in my favor in the end I guess. The thing I don't get though is that in beginning you asked us to give you very specific information on where you were, where Brian was, the coordinates and such, which is not what I was expecting. But I did what you asked, and that's why I gave directions like go 2 west and 2 north, and then you started ignoring what I was telling you, which pissed me off LOL. So I shut up for the most part when you told us to stop giving information, except for that one time I messed up and gave your location instead of Brian. Wish I could take credit for it, because that would have been damn sneaky heh. It was truly not my intention to reveal your position to Brian like that, so again sorry about that. Heck I didn't want Brian or anyone but me to get an exemption at that point.

I sat here for the whole game and thought that if the Mole was eliminated during a challenge, the game would end. Guess I was wrong!

That was a really frustrating challenge. I knew the Mole had to be one of the other two spotters because I think we started giving conflicting information early on (or at least had different ideas of how to get Brian quickly). I really became suspicious of the other two spotters when we all started counting wrong. First I was counting wrong and then Thomkal gave the wrong coordinates and also spelled out your location after you asked us not to give it out. We were so close at the end and I was really disappointed that we lost that one.

FWIW, I never thought you were the Mole. I would have been shocked if you were. You played a good game.

The evader game I played totally straight in thread. I wanted to give Brian info but I also didn't want him to be able to tell from the thread that it was from me. I tried to be very careful and spare with my wordings and would purposely stay away from the thread after putting out a message in fear he would check who was there.

So when we all started getting the counts wrong it was fantastic cover from my point of view.

I think we can probably do away with the spoilers tag now. I think you did a great job overall MJ4H, but I would caution you to be careful with correcting players in the thread for the next game. Barkeep at some point commented on something that was in the rules, but he missed. If I remember correctly it wasn't a question to you in the thread, just a comment on how to play the challenge. You corrected him, and right there I was pretty sure Barkeep wasn't the Mole because you wouldn't have corrected the Mole, because the Mole might try something like that, or even more play off that comment.

And players should be cautious about posting in the thread about being ready/not ready to take the quiz. (I did too). The Mole doesn't take the quiz, so I tended to eliminate people who did that as being the Mole. A sneaky Mole could do that I guess though.

And other than the maze challenge, we really didn't "attack" someone who made a suspicious action or statement like we would in Werewolf. Putting the heat on the Mole might get them to slip up.

The trouble is that you don't really want the Mole to slip up too badly. If everyone knows who the mole is, quizzes come down to time. If people don't know the mole, but you do...big advantage.

Actually those were two things I considered, and I would have absolutely treated the mole the same way. However, that said, part of the game I think is for the players to find little things like that to pick up on. Things that are real, actual things that would happen differently in terms of behavior for the actual mole. Good detectives can pick up on things like that. This was actually a conscious decision of mine to try to make sure everyone understands the procedures in the thread. Now, the mole may not need to get clarification and just act based on knowing he is wrong. Something like that. Those are the sorts of clues that good players might be able to use.

Also, you couldn't be positive that the mole wouldn't a) take the quizzes, or b) at least claim he was ready. However, using a couple of clues like the above, you could maybe paint a picture of who was likely the mole. But, again, in my opinion, that's what good players do in this game.

For those that didn't want to download, here is the final reveal. Also, some of the audio synch problems are not present in this one. Compressing it did that. But that one skip in the execution segment is still there. Not sure what happened there, but I didn't really have time to fix it yesterday.

I attempted to embed a clue to the mole's identity in the Anagramazing video, but it was incredibly difficult. The swirling letter pattern was meant to align briefly and display the name of the mole. I could never make it work exactly, so I settled for almost. Additionally, in the theme of the mission, the name was scrambled.

I have to say thanks again to MJ4H for his great job hosting this game. Mole is my favorite game show, so winning it was a big thrill for me. Loved the videos, use of the Mole music etc.

So I'm curious how you looked at each mission for the Mole perspective Path? I think you did a good job especially since you weren't planning on being the Mole when the game started.

I didn't notice this until now, and I'd have to go back through the thread to remember.

I do remember that not having watched the show before I was probably more cautious then I would have been after playing the game. And I asked MJ4H LOTS of questions as I recall.

Other than that, I approached it as a bad guy in werewolf. That did help.

If there's another one, count me in.
