Just watched episode 3.09. Those characters were all pretty tiresome, thank god that happened.

We have been catching up with season 3. I have read through about the end of book 4 and my wife hasn't read any but watches the shows.

Next episode is the red wedding, I can't wait to see her reaction. It's the one time I want to see my wife shit herself.

Not sure how far back you need to go but here is the backstory.

Spoiler

I'm not sure if that's good enough or not. I actually haven't seen any of season 3 yet.

Now if you need some more just ask, I don't want to give too much more away if you are at the RW.

Season 3 blu-ray is coming on Tuesday. Many major retailers are selling it for only $30 ($25 for DVD only).

Where are you seeing $30/$25. When I've priced it i've only seen $40 and $35.

RM - it's hard to say much without talking in spoilers, but what I'd say is that if you added the two words "so far" to the end of your second sentence hidden by your spoiler tags you'll see the issue.

Given that a) we know Martin has shared his ideas for the rest of the series with the show's writers? Producers? and b) that they've made some (altogether reasonable) changes / omissions in the show so far, it could really go either way in this particular instance. And probably work out fine.

I think the question you have to ask yourself is which possibility would be more dramatic, from a TV perspective.

I think they kill the stuff from 309 by going with the loophole and reintroducing the character. I was pissed when I heard about the storyline from my bro. I hope they leave it alone.

I probably should know what the hell you're talking about, but honestly, I just need a translation.

Do you mean Season 3, episode 9? It seems as if that 'reintroducing' is likely to be important.

All I'm saying is let dead dogs lie. I hated that character and to bring it back would majorly suck.

I liked it too. They've done a solid job making Theon slightly more sympathetic in the TV show in his limited screen time. He still has plenty of scenes where he's a little bitch who deserves bad things to happen to him, but you see it's because of his self-doubt and weakness.

And what if it is essential to the future plot? You aren't going to be like those - Man, why couldn't we go away from the books on Ned's death folks are you?

Did you guys see who they got to play Gregor this year?

He's a Scandanavian strongman (3rd strongest in the world I guess?). 6ft9

Look at this pic of him with Cersei.

Iceland's Strongest Viking has to be a quality event.

just finished watching season 3 (and rewatching 1 and 2) and found it to be pretty awesome again. Looking forward to season 4, should be amazing

the one thing i thought was bad (to put it mildly) was the Theon plot. This better play some major role for future developments, otherwise this was a huge waste of time.

Looking forward to Jaime in a civil environment again. Seems like he´ll turn things around in terms of being a more moral person, but hope he doesn´t totally abolish his uppity, arrogant ways that would shine in Kings Landing (upon rewatching and reading up a bit about the books, the character as a whole has become really fascinating for me. The story line about him doing a great thing in killing the king and then being ridiculed and scorned for the how of it was a bit underplayed in season 1.)

Perhaps my favourite scene in the whole season was the end of episode 6. That was amazingly played and Littlefingers monologue was incredible. The whole atmosphere of the scene was terrific, great pace and use of music as well.

Has anybody seen the "Hollow Crown" (series of Shakespeare history plays adapted for TV) ? Would have fit right in there.

So it does.

It means I won't have to sacrifice any children to the Lord of Light in order to get an HBO Go password. This week at least.

Ok episode for me. I think it was obviously focused on setting things up for the rest of the season. I like the hound and Tyrion and Bronn are always great together. I don't like Shae and never did. I can't understand why Tyrion's in love with her.
