The guy has dedicated his life to screaming about your right to bear arms to prevent a tyrannical government from taking over and stripping your rights. Years of decrying overreach and how the republic could die whenever someone like Obama would ask for background checks after an elementary classroom gets slaughtered.

Finally the big moment happens. A masked armed unit at the behest of the state disarms a citizen, executes him in broad daylight, then comes right out and says that bringing a gun to a protest is legal grounds for being executed. All he can muster is some vague condemnation of Kash Patel for his messaging.

An empty suit who cosplayed as some tough patriot fighting against government tyranny that immediately bowed down to his masters the minute they snap their fingers at him. MPR News has learned that the police chief in the small southern Minnesota city of St. Peter intervened Thursday afternoon to prevent federal immigration agents from arresting a local resident.

The resident, a woman, had been observing and recording video of immigration enforcement actions from her car when agents removed her from her car and took her into custody.

It's believed to be the first time a local police department in Minnesota intervened in a federal law enforcement action since the surge in immigration enforcement began two months ago.

The woman, who did not want to be identified because she fears for her safety, is a U.S. citizen and a resident of St. Peter. She told MPR News in an interview that she was out in the community in her car, tracking the movements of federal agents, and recording them on a dash cam.

She shared that video with us. Agents in three vehicles began chasing her and trying to force her to pull over. Eventually they box her in, three agents get out of the car in front of her, with their guns drawn and try to force her out of her vehicle.

That's a start, but they really need to start arresting these guys. What they were doing was illegal, and the local cop here saw them committing a crime. They need to start locking them up, and then set their bond conditions that they aren't allowed to carry weapons.

Ammon Bundy, voice of reason, is not something I expected to type in 2026 or any other year.

The rancher and militia member became a right-wing icon after he participated in two armed standoffs with the federal government. In a recently published interview with The Atlantic, Bundy called the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti “sickening” and admitted that “when it comes to the more humanitarian side… I think the left has it much more correct than the nationalist right.”

Bundy’s no stranger to MAGA opposition. His views don’t slot fully into the Republican Party or the movement around Donald Trump. Last year, Bundy published an essay opposing the administration’s stance on immigrantion, making a biblical case for protecting all people who come to the United States.

“The right to move, to seek peace, and to provide for one’s family is not a privilege granted by people in governments,” he wrote. “It is part of the created order and a national right of mankind.”

Bundy called the persecution of immigrants a “moral failure.”

“To call such people criminals for lacking official permission… is to forget the moral law of God, the historical truth of our own founding, and the Constitutional ideals that continue to define justice,” he wrote.

Speaking to other militia members who joined the revolts of Bundy and his father, The Atlantic found that Ammon was an outlier in his own community. When he was presented with his compatriots support for ICE, he was baffled.

“I can’t understand how they think,” he said. “It doesn’t make sense to me… It’s scary, actually.”

Some people are true conservatives that see that Trump and MAGA aren't a conservative movement. It has some conservative principles but it's mostly a cult that adjusts their policy views based on their dear leader's whims.

My wife, a few years ago, was right of center. I told her instead of allowing her parents in Texas to continue to say she's a Washington liberal now, she needs to start pointing out that she didn't move away from conservatism, but MAGA isn't conservative and in many ways stands firmly against the ideals her stepdad tried to instill in her.

You can be conservative and follow Trump. That doesn't make Trump or MAGA conservative.

Had my first ICE interaction at lunch. They've been patrolling the interstate here the last week pulling over work trucks and vans. I was on a three lane road trying to get to the interstate. Was behind him in the middle lane and he was going about 10 mph because I assume he didn't know where he was going. He finally moved and he flipped me off as I drove by.

I didn't speed, just got up to speed (it was a 45 zone) like normal and drove by. And it wasn't a quick flip, i could see it as I was coming up on the back corner and he held it after I passed. He also had a couple of masked friends and was dressed in their larping gear.

I gave him a puzzled look and I just blew him a kiss. I then went one way to the interstate and he took an exit to another. I guess they really are just assholes.
