Day one is nothing to get excited about, if you already have Skyrim. Everything else has been seen before.

Picked up Outlast and Sleeping Dogs.
Seems they upgraded their infrastructure, can't remember their site working at 1pm during these sales. |

Is it worth paying almost three times the price for the Skyrim Legendary Edition over the regular edition? Given the size of my backlog I probably should not bother with the DLC.

Skyrim + all the expansions is a steal at 20 bucks.

I wish they'd similarly reduce the price of the stand-alone DLC. Even though I already have vanilla + hearthfire, I'm tempted to just buy the Legendary Edition.

What do people think about prison architect? I know it had a little bit of buzz here before but I was wondering if it stood the test of time or if it is no good.

Worth the money IMO. It's definitely a work in progress and isn't very deep or polished yet but still fun for a while.

The vanilla version is about $6 in the UK, so I think I will go for that and pick up the story DLC at 75% off at some point down the line if I really get into the game. I expect the regular price of the DLC will drop at some point next year. Dawnguard and Dragonborn are almost the same price as the regular Skyrim price in the UK. |

is this the end of DLC for Skyrim? I might pay the $20 if that's everything, but if there are more expansions / content to come I'd rather wait

Have a lot of free time on my hands lately but Skyrim looks too daunting of a game for someone who isn't really a gamer to begin with. And all I have is a new Macbook Air so I don't know if it'd even be able to handle it.
Does Steam usually sell the new FM at a discount during the holidays?

You might see it at 10% off or 25% off on Steam, but I wouldn't count on more than that; those two I consider possible only because GMG has had 25% vouchers that have worked on FM so far since launch. Your best bet before spring is probably that 30% voucher that Ryan S posted. |

Can't resist even when my total gaming time in console or PC in the last 2 months has been around 6 hours. Work, travels and kids are taking most of my time, but the young guy inside of me still think that some day will have the time to play games again... so i have also pre-ordered a Ps4 and 3 games that will be released tomorrow in Spain.
Just bought: Skyrim legendary, had vanilla on Ps3 and did not play a lot of it, but sold the console and games to get the Ps4. The price with all DLC is great. Project Zomboid: Have been following this game for a while, still in beta. State of Decay: Read good reviews about it.

I've bought FM the last two years during the Steam winter sale for $29.99. I wait every year because I'm cheap, still playing the last year's edition, and the first few patches have been released. Like Ryan said, I wouldn't expect it during this weekend's sale (too close to release), but look for it at Christmas time. |

Appreciate the help. Looks like GreenMan only has FM available for PC though. At the moment I have a macbook to play on.

Thanks for posting this. Was waiting for the Christmas sale but with the patch out and probably only saving another $5 or maybe $10, at best, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. $35 is still a hell of a deal for the hours of entertainment one gets from the game. Also having next week off may have weighed into my decision |

My wife's been using Steam for a while but I bought my first game from them today: Saints Row the Third. Figured I'd try it out since it was cheap.

It's absolutely unique, and a steal for 5 bucks. Again, no replayability value but you'll easily get $5 out of it

Let me know what you think of it, and how it compares to say, The Guild series and/or Machiavelli: the Prince (which IMO are still the gold standard in these types of games)

Let us know how you like Prison Bitch...er, Prison Architect. I was enamored for about two hours, then it just kind of fell flat on me. Of course, this was a while ago and they may have made some improvements since then. INDalltheway, I also would like to hear how Rise of Venice is. It looks very similar to Patrician IV, which is booooooooooring. |

Dishonored is advertised as 50% off but the GOTY edition when you click on it is 92% off. If you are interested.
Bioshock Infinite is listed as 50% off but is 75% off when you click on it. |

If you want Bioshock Infinite but don't have the other games in the series I think Amazon still has the pack with all three games for $14.99.

It's absolutely worth it. The gameplay is the iterative process you expect, but the game environment and the storyline(s) are excellent. |

My son was showing me a YouTube vid of the saga of one guy trying to get his papers in order in Papers, Please. It was pretty amusing.
Also, it's gotten good reviews: http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechcons...hy-to-the-test

I also give Papers Please a thumbs up. It starts out like an old 80's style game and right when you think "meh" then you start to see some "storylines" kick in.
Love the guy that just keeps trying, shows up with no passport one day, a hand drawn passport a few days later, etc... |

How is State of Decay?
Is Wargame: European Escalation worth 4.99? I know the consensus is that it wasn't worth full price. I just wish I had a Cold War era wargame/RTS where I could play as the USSR or the West and fight across Germany/Europe. I'd really prefer a grognard-style wargame, but if I had to settle for an RTS... Last edited by DaddyTorgo : 11-29-2013 at 08:58 PM. |

I've only played for about 10 minutes. Seems a bit like GTA with zombies. Which I'm quite cool with. I know there are some other deeper factors to it, but that's what I got out of it. Running them over was fun.

I think so. It is a fun 4x game set in a fantasy world. It isn't a perfect game but it is fun and gets enough right to get your money's worth. |
