I am so excited for tomorrow night I can hardly contain myself. I feel like Iowa can win this game. Regardless of a win or loss this is an unexpected place for Iowa to be.
Go Hawks!

I wish I could put some money on Iowa. I think getting 11 points sounds good.

That's what I came into the thread to see if anyone was talking about. I've been out all day so I'm a little behind.

Quinn Ewers enters the portal and looks to be going back to a TX school.
This was pretty much inevitable with CJ Stroud's excellent performance this year. That NIL money Ewers is getting won't last if he isn't starting next year.

Seems like a surprisingly good get considering the clusterfuck of a hiring process that was being reported.

The last couple weeks feels like what happens in a video game and you quit and don’t play anymore because it’s too unrealistic.

OU fans really believe they are getting Dabo.
Edit: and I don't think that will happen, but what if there is something majorly wrong at Clemson, and everybody is abandoning ship? What could it be? Last edited by GrantDawg : 12-03-2021 at 07:58 PM. |

Why would Dabo do that? Take the easy path to the playoffs in the ACC rather than get mired down in the mud in the SEC. There's a reason why Riley went to USC and the PAC with OU heading to the SEC to be "just another program". SI

I really don't know. I do not believe Dabo would leave Clemson for anything short of the Alabama job. If he did leave for OU ,then that would have to be a sign of something really bad is happening at Clemson. I just can't imagine what.

I think it's great that you're so pumped about it. I've been reading a lot of 'Michigan by two touchdowns' takes and I think it'll be closer than that, there's a lot of people and pundits that I think have jumped too hard on the Michigan bandwagon after the OSU game and forgotten that no, their defense isn't and never was in the class of Iowa's. Having said I still think Iowa won't be able to move the ball enough, all appearances are that Michigan is focused, and they should get more than enough chances to put points together for a victory barring a turnover avalanche. I have no doubt Iowa will make them earn it though. I will revise your last statement from 'Go Hawks' to 'Go Away Hawks' Last edited by Brian Swartz : 12-04-2021 at 12:19 AM. |

Reports are saying OU is preparing for an announcement for the new head coach Sunday or Monday, even though there's no word on who.

Things are not going well for OK State after two interceptions have been converted to touchdowns. I am sort of concerned, because the more of these favorites today lose, the greater than chance Alabama sneaks into the playoffs even if they lose.

I dont see how they put Alabama in if they lose today. They wouldn't drop them to 4 and set up a first round rematch with UGA, so basically they would be saying the SEC title game didn't matter. Don't see them doing that. I suspect ND would get the #4 slot assuming UM wins.

Odd thing, to me at least.
Have a look at the (to-date) career stats for OSU QB Spencer Sanders. I'm struck by how similar the numbers are for three full seasons The TD/INT ratio has improved, so that should be a sign that he's getting better mentally at least but the stats suggest to me that maybe he's hit a ceiling. OR is that a function of the offense and the team around him?

The never punt experiment at Presbyterian (2-9) lasts one season.
HC resigns to "pursue other football interests". No word on whether that means he's headed back to HS football in Arkansas.

Yeah agree if Baylor wins ND is almost certainly in at 4. I am actually predicting Houston also upsets Cincy. Won’t be shocked ifIowa beats UM also. Last edited by Galaril : 12-04-2021 at 01:42 PM. |

Lathum, Bama is in even if they lose if there are losses in other games that provides a path. Don't believe for a minute the committee will not twist themselves into pretzels to get Bama in if they can.

Galaril, not necessarily. It could be Georgia, Cincy or UM, Bama, ND. They would make the argument a two loss Bama is still ahead of a one loss ND that didn't play a championship game.

Why would Baylor run a play where the right handed QB whose has a bad right shoulder has to roll to the left and then make a throw?

Given the committee's instructions, they would have a hard time putting a two-loss Alabama ahead of a one-loss conference champion or undefeated Cincinnati. So they would finish behind a winning Michigan, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State.
The eye test is an important one. Was it a signal from the committee that Alabama fell behind Michigan after its escape from Auburn? Baylor might well hold on to beat Oklahoma State, but this is a sludge of a game with a few great plays thrown in here and there. The committee has the perfect opportunity to make a statement about what it thinks of Notre Dame's independence. They gave themselves maximum flexibility with their last rankings. I think that was intentional. |

When it is all said and done today, Alabama with two losses will be a better team than all but Georgia but wont deserve to be in because of the two losses. Georgia seems completely dominant over the rest of the pack, and today Id expect them to win by 7 or more.
Who will be in if things go accordingly Georgia Michigan Cincy Notre Dame The best teams Georgia Bama Ohio St Michigan Edit. If Okie St(who looks not deserving at all) would take Notre Dame's spot if they pull this out. Committee kind of set the entry point for 2 loss teams with moving Ohio St below Notre Dame. Id expect Alabama to slot in the same spot. Id love to see a Alabama/Ohio St bowl game. Last edited by jbergey22 : 12-04-2021 at 02:36 PM. |

Damn, that performance has even ME wondering whether Cincy might be as deserving of a spot in this year's landscape.
At least now we know what to get OSU for Christmas: new sheets

It will be an interesting discussion, Notre Dame or Baylor. I thought the committee put Baylor behind both Ohio State and Mississippi so that they could put off that discussion to this week.

Top marks for both the interviewer and the Baylor coach on that post game interview. The interviewer asked the tough questions and the Baylor coach handled each one with class and respect. Good job all around.

while it should be possible to devise a completely objective playoff seeding classifier (heck a simple random forest would do the job), i suspect it is good for the college football business to keep the surprise element.

Shouldn’t Baylor have been called for delay of game when they tried to take that timeout?
