The season starts with Stevens hitting a wide open 3! If he can make that shot with any type of consistency, this team could be just as dominant as last year.

They dare Stevens to shoot another 3.. and he misses badly.

14:41 - Our defense is missing Vega early. They are taking it inside much more effective than we allowed any team last year. Annen picks up his 2nd foul trying to help out down low. We are tied at 11. Hehn in for Annen.

14:12 - English picks up his 2nd foul. Prillman into the game. We are down 13-11.

11:00 - No unity on our team right now and we are playing some bad defense. However, Badu is tearing up their defense. Down 20-18.

7:53 - We lead 33-24. Wow, our offense is explosive. Hehn and Farrell each with a pair of quick 3's.

Hehn is showing himself to be NASTY. He's drilling 3's, posting up his man, and providing great defense with his length at the other end.

I didn't plan on playing that lineup the rest of the half, but they hypnotized me with their play. Loved how that group worked together the last 8 minutes.

Halftime: We lead 58-34.

Hehn is the surprise player of the half with 19 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.

Badu with 8 points and 9 assists.

Farrell with 15 points. Stevens with 9 points and 3 boards.

English has a 0 stat line in 6 minutes. Prillman with 2 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists in 14 minutes.

I turn back to the starters for the 2nd half.

19:40 - Farrell picks up his 2nd and 3rd foul in quick succession. He's remaining in the game for now.

15:30 - Farrell picks up his 4th foul. I decide to rest him. Hehn into the game with Annen sliding to SG. We lead 69-49.

10:30 - Wow. This team is going to be special too I think. We lead 86-54. I bring in Moss, Wolfe, and Prillman. Annen will only play a few more minutes.

7:04 - Kilgore into the game for Annen. We lead 91-63.

Hehn gets hot again down the stretch.

We win the game 113-77. Good start to the season.

Hehn is the player of the game with 31 points, 5 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. He shot 12 of 20, 5 of 10, and 2 of 2.

Badu wioth 11 points, 13 assists, 3 boards, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 4 of 5.

Farrell with 24 points. He shot 10 of 14, 4 of 6, and 0 of 0.

Annen with 16 points, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 6 of 8.

Stevens with 15 points, 4 boards, 2 assist, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 7 of 11.

English with 2 points, 5 boards, and a block in 15 minutes.

Prillman with 2 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, and a block in 25 minutes.

Kilgore with 10 points. Wolfe with 3 boards. Moss with 2 points, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block in 11 minutes.

We beat them 92-61.

Annen with 21 points and 3 boards. Farrell with 15 points. English with 11 points. Stevens with 9 points, 8 boards, and 3 blocks.

I'll play them later.

15:00 - A slow start for our offense. We are missing shots we normally make. We lead 4-2.

14:41 - English picks up his 2nd foul. Hehn into the game.

12:31 - Farrell and Annen on the fastbreak.. Farrell with a beautiful bounce pass that leads to an Annen dunk. We lead 10-4.

12:01 - Annen picks up his 2nd foul. Prillman into the game and Hehn slides to SF.

10:00 - Our offense is clicking now. We lead 18-8.

6:15 - We lead 24-12. I bring in Moss, Kilgore, and Fuller resting all of our starters.

3:50 - Moss and Hehn on a 2-on-1 fastbreak.. Moss with the perfect lob.. Hehn catches it, double pumps and slams it home. Beautiful alley-oop. We lead 28-12.

Halftime: We lead 33-20. Our shooting has been terrible tonight with a few exceptions.

Farrell is the player of the half with 9 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists.

Stevens with 6 points. Hehn with 5 points and 5 boards.

18:55 - English picks up his 3rd foul but will remain in the game for now.

17:50 - English picks up his 4th foul. Hehn in at C. We lead 36-26.

15:00 - We lead 44-30. Not happy with our defense this half. I call time and tell the guys to up the intensity.

8:30 - This is embarassing. They are on a 9-0 run. We are up 55-48. I go with some guys who might play with some heart - Cox, Moss, Kilgore, Wolfe, and English.

3:50 - I bring back my starters. We lead 64-59.

1:00 - Willis, their SG who is torching us, hits a pair of 3's to make it a 1 point game. 68-67, we lead. Farrrell has had our last 4 points.

44 seconds - Farrell swishes a 3.

33 seconds - Willis hits a 3 over good defense from Farrell.

Badu is fouled. He makes the 1st FT. He makes the 2nd. We lead 73-70.

Willis misses a quick 3. Stevens with the board. He gets it to Annen who is fouled.

Our full court trap forces an errant pass out of bounds.

Badu is fouled and makes a pair of FT's.

We win the game 80-70, but we came perilously close to our most embarrassing loss in a very long time.

Farrell is the player of the game with 26 points, 6 boards, 3 assists. He shot 11 of 19, 2 of 6, and 2 of 3.

Badu with 8 points, 4 boards, 5 assists, and 3 steals.

Annen with 11 points, 3 boards, and 3 assists.

Stevens with 8 points, 8 boards, and 3 steals.

English with 4 points, 3 boards, and 1 assist.

Hehn led the bench with 11 points, 8 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 4 of 10.

Prillman with 1 points and 6 boards.

Moss with 8 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block.

Our next game is at home vs 2-1 Montana. They have a roster rating of 76.

WOW. Stevens had a huge game against them, one of the biggest rebounding games I've ever seen in a simulated game. We win 89-47. Stevens with 23 points, 21 boards, 4 blocks, and 2 steals. He shot 7 of 9, 2 of 3, and 7 of 8. I do think he's becoming a major weapon for us if I go to him more..

Badu with 14 points and 6 assists. Farrell with 13 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and a block.

Annen with 9 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists. English with 0 points, 2 boards, and 1 block.

Fuller led the bench with 10 points, 9 boards, and 2 blocks. Hehn with a quiet 16 minutes - 1 point and 3 boards.

Kilgore with 7 points and 3 boards. Prillman with 3 points and 3 boards in just 8 minutes (compared to 20 for English.)

Our next game is against a talented San Diego team that is 1-2. They have a roster rating of 85. Their best player is SO SG Josiah Plavich who is 6'4 220 and is rated 82 overall with a high 3 point ability. I'll play them tomorrow.

14:30 - We are up 13-11.

9:30 - Our offense is clicking but the defense isn't playing well. We lead 25-19. I bring in Moss, Kilgore, Hehn, Wolfe, and Prillman.

6:30 - Our 2nd unit has a 6-0 run going. We lead 31-19 as they call time. Hehn already has 2 blocks. Moss with a block as well.

2:36 - We lead 44-28. I bring back all of my starters except English. Hehn slides to center.

Halftime: We lead 56-28. Great last 3 minutes of defense.

Stevens is the player of the half. He might be our best offensive option as well as our best defender. He's developed a nice fadeaway in the post, plus he is a good face up shooter from 10-12 feet out. Stevens with 14 points, 6 boards, and 2 steals. He has shot 6 of 10.

Badu with 4 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Farrell with 10 points. Annen with 8 points. English with 3 boards and a block.

Hehn with 9 points, 5 boards, and 3 blocks. Wolfe on pace for a career high game with 7 points so far.

I'm leaving Hehn in at C, he's earned it. Time to finish this game off in the first few minutes of the half.

9:46 - Time to pull the starters. We lead 86-42. Every starter except English had a good game today. I'm bringing in Cox, Moss, Kilgore, Wolfe, and Prillman to finish the game.

We win the game 114-60. Wow. This was a good team and we just destroyed them. Feeling very good about this team now.

Hehn was the player of the game with 23 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 4 blocks. He shot 9 of 15.

Stevens with 18 points, 9 boards, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 7 of 12.

Annen with 14 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, and a block. He shot 3 of 7.

Farrell with 12 points, 2 boards, and 2 assists. he shot 4 of 6.

Badu with 11 points, 8 assists, 4 boards, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 3 of 5.

English didn't play in the 2nd half and is close to getting demoted. He had 0 points, 3 boards, and 1 block. He shot 0 of 4.

Wolfe with a career high 8 points, 5 boards, and 1 steal.

Kilgore with 7 points. Prillman with 7 points, 6 boards, and a block in 15 minutes.

Cox, the walk-on, with 4 points and 5 assists in 10 minutes.

Moss with 10 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in 15 minutes.

Edit to add: In fact, I got a new Xbox achievement this game for beating a team rated 85+ by 50 or more points.

Recruiting news:

After looking bad early, we are looking very good for 5 star PG Dainmon Matthews from Orange County, CA. He is a 6'1 195 pound PG who is rated 10th overall in the country. He averaged 16.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg, and 7.6 apg in the ABL. Our staff thinks he already has elite speed and quickness and he could be a huge player right away for us if Badu leaves early. I hope he doesn't have a last minute change of heart...

We also look good for J.S. Grundy from Taylor, MI. He is a 4 star C who is rated 88th overall and 5th among all C's. He is 6'9 255 and is a very athletic player who can shoot from midrange very well. He averaged 14 ppg and 9 rpg in the ABL. Michigan is our main competition for him..

It looks like we are going to lose out on 5 star SF Cal Payne from Nevada as he is leaning towards Washington over USC..

Only 1 simmed game to go before we get the initial recruiting results..

Nov 27, 2037 -

Tonight we host Iowa State. They are 3-1 with a rating of 88.

Wow. We beat them 100-86. Annen with a huge night - 42 points, 8 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 16 of 24, 3 of 6, and 7 of 7.

Badu with 2 points and 7 assists. Farrell with 14 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists.

Stevens with 11 points, 8 boards, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.

English with a solid 20 minutes - 0 points, 6 boards, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.

Hehn led the bench with 10 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists in 17 minutes.

Fuller with 9 points. Cox with 7. Wolfe with 6. Moss with 4 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists in 8 minutes.

Now, it is time for the recruits to start signing...

We missed out on a lot of big targets that I went after including:

The #1 Center in the country, a 5 star player, stayed close to his home in Dallas and will play for Texas.

The #2 C in the country, another 5 star player, wasn't willing to come all the way from Florida to USC. He is going to Auburn.

5 star SF Cal Payne, a 6'7 215 pound very athletic player, chose Washington over USC.

5 star SG Maynard Whithers, a 6'3 215 pound guard from Compton CA, wanted to get out of the city and chose Washington over USC.

Ugonna Bailey, the #1 player in the country, was interested in us, but we never got above his 3rd choice. He is from Philly and he wanted to stay on the East Coast. The 6'6 210 pound SG is going to UConn.

However, we got 3 of our 4 top realistic targets to sign today!

Dainmon Matthews is ready to be the next great PG at USC! The 5 star player is the 10th rated player overall and 4th among PG's. Our staff grades him as follows (see above post for his ABL stats): Shooting A, Skills A+, Defense A, Athleticism A+, Rebounding B-, IQ B, Potential B+, and Size C+. In particular, they think his speed and quickness are off the charts with A+ rating already. They also think he is already a A- passer. If he lives up to those ratings, he'll be ready to step in right away if Badu leaves next year..

We also got our next great shooter for when Farrell graduates (or so I hope.) Edmund Grant is a 4 star SG from Los Angeles who is rated 56th overall and 17th among SG's. He is 6'3 174 and he averaged 13.9 ppg, 8.5 rpg, and 3.9 apg in the ABL while shooting 42% from the arc. Our staff grades him as follows: Shooting A, Skills B, Defense A-. Athleticism A-, Rebounding C+, IQ B+, Potential B+, and Size B-.

We also got J.S. Grundy from Michigan! He is ranked 88th overall and 5th among C's. He is 6'9 255 and is graded as follows: Shooting B+, Skills B-, Defense B, Athleticism B, Rebounding A, IQ A, Potential A+, Size A-. If he lives up that potential, he could be our next great C. Very excited about these 3. Our staff thinks he has a legit 3 point shoot and a very good midrange shot.

We aren't going to get any more early signees, but there are two players I'm hopeful will wait until the end of the year and I'm hopeful we might be able to win them away from their early leanings. I still have 4 more scholarships to give and I'm very unlikely to give them all out.

Our next game is at 5-3 UC-Santa Barbara. They have a rating of 74. None of their players are rated higher then 73. Should be an easy win if we play like we have the last 2 games. I'll play them later.

14:30 - We lead 11-6. English with his best start to a game this season.

Badu and Stevens with a 2-on-1 fastbreak.. Badu with a beautiful behind the back bounce pass to Stevens who dunks it home.

12:25 - We are on a 8-0 run. We lead 18-6.

8:30 - I bring in Moss, Kilgore, Hehn, Fuller, and Prillman. We lead 22-8.

Other than the last 2 minutes where we gave up 4 points, the second unit played phenomenal defense.

Halftime: We lead 39-15. Perhaps, our most balanced half ever. So many guys contributing.

Annen is the player of the half with 6 points and 3 boards.

Fuller also has 6 points. Farrell with 5. Stevens, English, Prillman, Moss, and Badu all have 4 points.

19:11 - English picks up his 3rd foul. He'll remain in the game for now. We lead 42-16.

17:30 - Badu picks up his 3rd but will remain in the game for now. We lead 45-19.

7:30 - Starters played a bit longer than I wanted because they finished off with a strong run. Defense was sloppy this half, but the offense was run and gun and highly efficient. I pull my starters with a 77-40 lead. Moss, Kilgore, Hehn, Fuller, and Prillman into the game again.

We win the game 94-52.

Annen is the player of the game with 22 points, 6 boards, and 2 assists. He did most of his damage on midrange jumpers but also had a few impressive dunks. He shot 9 of 15.

Badu with 9 points, 7 assists, 4 steals, 2 boards, and 4 turnovers. He scored mostly on drives into the paint. He shot 2 of 4.

Farrell with 12 points, 3 boards, and 3 steals. He shot 5 of 10. He scored mostly on midrange shots. He was 1 of 3 from the arc.

Stevens with 8 points, 11 boards, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 4 of 6. Most of his points came in the paint using his fadeaway shot.

English with 9 points, 6 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. He shot 3 of 6. He mostly scored in the paint.

Hehn led the bench with 9 points, 5 boards, and 2 steals. He shot 4 of 8 and was 1 of 1 from the arc. The rest of his points came in the paint on post moves.

Fuller with 8 points and 4 boards. He scored exclusively in the paint.

Prillman with a big game for him - 8 points, 7 boards, and 3 blocks. He hit multiple 12-14 foot jumpers usually wide open shots created by Moss working in the post.

Kilgore with 4 points and 2 boards.

Moss with 5 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 2 of 3. Both shots were in the paint.

End of early recruiting:

UCLA gets a good 4 star SG who I was considering as an option - Laron Miller is 6'3 179 and is a very good shooter from San Diego.

WSU gets a good PG in Mr. Basketball from Hawaii Rashid McDade a 6'0 165 pound 4 star PG.

Neither of the two kids who I offered this past week signed early. One is the #3 player in the country and he is a long shot to leave the East Coast. The other is a 4 star VERY athletic SF from Oregon. I'm fighting Washington and Oregon for him.

Our next game is at Longwood!?! What was the AD thinking? They are 0-11 with a roster rating of 64. Their head coach has a 2-35 record there.

We beat them 88-42.

Badu with 11 points and 6 assists. Farrell with 19 points.

Stevens with 16 points and 11 boards. Annen with 15 points, 7 boards, and 2 blocks.

English with 4 points, 2 boards, and a block. Fuller led the bench with 7 points, 5 boards, and 2 blocks.

Our next game is hosting 1-6 Morehead State. They have a roster rating of 68. I'll play them later.

15:00 - Annen with his most dominant 5 minute stretch that I've ever seen. We lead 15-0. He's doing everything I could want - rebounding, stealing, blocking, assists, shooting, and dunking. His stats so far - 9 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

10:09 - Annen is exhausted. Tremendous first 10 minutes but he slowed down about 4 minutes ago. I bring in Hehn for Annen. We lead 25-14.

7:45 - Prillman in for English. We lead 29-19.

6:00 - We switch it up with Moss, Annen, Hehn, Fuller, and Prillman. We lead 33-24.

Annen hits a 3 and gets fouled at the buzzer. He's had an amazing half. He's finally playing like the best player in college basketball which is what the media was calling him before the year began.

Halftime: We lead 57-30.

Annen is the player of the half with 19 points, 6 boards, 9 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. I don't believe I've ever had a player get a triple double. If I have, it has been a long time ago.

Badu with 7 points and 3 assists. Stevens with 11 points and 3 boards. Hehn and Fuller with 8 points each.

9:00 - I left Annen and the guys in a few minutes extra trying to get him his 10 boards, but Stevens and others just kept eating up all the rebounds. Oh well, Annen still had an incredible game. I pull all of my starters as we lead 86-40.

We win the game 101-51.

Annen is the player of the game with 32 points, 8 boards, 13 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He made shots all over the court. He shot 9 of 15, 1 of 3, and 13 of 16.

Badu with 9 points, 3 boards, and 4 assists. Farrell with 12 points.

Stevens with 15 points, 9 boards, and a block. English with 0 points, 4 boards, and 1 block.

Hehn led the bench with 12 points, 6 boards, and 1 steal.

Prillman with 4 points, 8 boards, and 1 block despite playing 8 less minutes than English.

Fuller with 8 points and 2 boards. Kilgore with 5 points and 5 boards. Moss with 2 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Today we host 2-6 Montana State. They have a roster rating of 74.

We beat them 97-56. Annen with 20 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, 2 steals, and a block.

Badu with 17 points, 8 assists, 3 boards, 2 steals, and a block. Farrell with 15 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists.

Stevens with 15 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.

English with 6 points and 8 boards.

Hehn led the bench with 10 points and 3 boards.

We are now 10-0 and continue to be #1 in both polls. Our next game is at Arkansas. They are 7-1 with a roster rating of 88. They have a talented starting 5 and some depth on the bench:

Our last non-conference game is hosting Eastern Washington. They are 4-6 with a roster rating of 77.

They are surprisingly tough for us but we win the game 68-53.

Annen had a very bad night with 2 of 12 shooting.

Farrell led the team with 19 points on 6 of 10 shooting. Badu with 14 points, 4 boards, and 4 assists.

Stevens with 14 points, 10 boards, and 1 block. English with 2 points and 1 board. It's time to give Prillman a shot to start.

Wolfe led the bench with 5 points.

Time for the Pac-10 Preview:

The overall rankings:

1. USC - We are 12-0. We are #1 in both polls. We have the best player and the best starting 5 despite our weakness at C. Overall rating of 96.

2. Oregon - They are 10-0. They are #2 in both polls. They have a well balanced starting 5. They have the 2nd best player in the conference in SR SG Bob Swanson. Overall rating of 93.

3. Washington. They are 9-3. They are 24th in the media poll. They have a balanced starting 5 with no real weaknesses. SR C Devon Wise is the best big man in the conference. Overall rating of 92.

4. UCLA. They are 7-5. They have a balanced starting 5 with no seniors. Next year, they could be the dominant team in the conference if all 4 of their JR starters come back. Rating of 91.

5. Stanford. They are 8-2. They are rated 23rd in the media poll. They are weak at SF but have the 2nd best big man in the conference and he is only a sophomore (Deng Lennon.) Overall rating of 90.

6. ASU has their best lineup in years. They are 8-2 and have a good balanced starting 5 led by star SR PG Charles Sessoms. Rating of 89.

7. Arizona is starting a sophomore at SF who isn't ready yet. Despite that they are 9-2 as they have a ton of veteran leadership around him. Their best player is SR C Juan Neverett. They are rated 88 overall.

8. Cal is young with 2 freshmen starting at PG and SF. The FR PG Clinton Atangana is a star of the future. Their best player is JR C Jibran Delgado. Overall rating of 87.

9. Oregon State has 3 SR's, but they still aren't as good as the other teams. In fact, most of their starters won't start for any of the other 8 teams above them. Rating of 81. They are 6-4.

10. Washington State - They are 5-6. They are starting a SO SG and FR SF who are rated in the mid 60's. Their SR PG is a liability as well. They have talent in SR PF Donald Nwoke and SR C Akil McCants. Overall rating of 81.

Statistical Leaders:

Scoring - USC 93.6 ppg.
Rebounds - Oregon 35.7 rpg.
Assists: USC 18.8 apg
Steals: USC 11.3 spg
Blocks: Oregon 6.3 bpg.

Individual leaders:

Scoring C Devon Wise, Washington 25.4 ppg.
Rebounding: Stevens, USC 8.3 rpg.
Assists: Badu, USC 5.5 apg.
Steals: Stevens, 2.2 spg.
Blocks: Delgado, Cal 2.7 bpg.

Best Overall Player: Leo Annen, USC. Rating of 93.
Best Freshman: Dilligard, Washington. Rating of 81.
Best Shooter: Arzelle Farrell, USC. Rating of 89.
Best Playmaker: Marcellus Badu, USC. Rating of 89.
Best Pro Prospect: Leo Annen, USC.
Best Defender: Stevens, USC, Rating of 90.

We've won the Regular Season Title 3 of the last 4 years. We've won the conference tourney 2 of the last 4. Cal has won the tourney both years that we failed to do so. Washington won the regular season title 3 years ago. Can we win both once again? Can we go undefeated? If we can stay healthy, I think we can do both.

Our next game is at Oregon State. JR Nehemiah Carney will give Prillman a tough challenge. He's 7'0 235 and is rated 78 overall. We have to watch out for the 3 point shooting of their PG. Otherwise, this should be an easy starting game in conference play.

14:40 - We lead 14-6. Annen has all 14 of our points as he is hitting everything right now. Hehn into the game at PF as Stevens has picked up a 2nd cheap foul.

14:00 - Diallo returns to the game.

They are double teaming Annen every time he touches the ball.. and guys (with the exception of Farrell) aren't making open shots to make them pay.

9:00 - We lead 24-14. Their double teaming has stopped Annen from scoring for the last 5 minutes or so. I bring in Kilgore at SF and English at C.

4:00 - We lead 38-16. Great effort from that unit. Badu is having his best game ever of running our offense. I bring back Annen. Kilgore slides to SG.

Halftme: We lead 52-20. Badu with a legendary 1st half.

Badu is the player of the half with 6 points, 14 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Annen has also had a great 1st half - 16 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, and 2 steals. He has shot 5 of 7, 4 of 5, and 2 of 2.

Farrell with 10 points. Hehn with 11 points and 9 boards. English with 7 points as Badu has really set up everyone with some easy baskets.

In the 2nd half, we slowed the tempo way down..

10:30 - I pull my starters. We lead 69-32. I put in the game Cox, Moss, Hehn, Fuller, and English.

3:00 - Time to get Wolfe a bit of PT. We lead 84-42.

We win the game 86-48.

Badu is the player of the game with 10 points, 16 assists (a new career high), 2 steals, 2 boards, and a block. He shot 2 of 3 and 6 of 6 from the line.

Annen took it easy the 2nd half - he finished with 18 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 4 steals, and a block. He shot 6 of 9, 4 of 6, and 2 of 2.

Farrell with 11 points as he shot 4 of 13 for the game including a bad 2nd half.

Stevens with 2 points and 4 boards.

Prillman with 5 points, 10 boards, and a block.

Hehn led the bench with 14 points, 10 boards, 2 steals, and a block.

English with a very good game, perhaps he'll earn his starting job back, he had 15 points, 3 boards, and a block. He shot 5 of 7 from the field and 5 of 5 from the line.

Kilgore with 5 points and 3 boards. Moss with 4 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Our next game is at Stanford. They are 14-4 (6-2) and are 2nd in the Pac-10. They are rated 20th in the media poll. They have a young talented lineup:

SR PG Raoul Dukes is the only senior starting. He's 6'0 177 and is rated 86 overall. He's a well balanced player. He's averaging 16 ppg, 3.6 apg, and 1.2 spg.

JR SG Steveroy Matheus is 6'6 196 and he's rated 85 overall. He's a very athletic player who can shoot well. He's averaging 14.2 ppg, 5.1 rpg, and 3.6 apg.

SO SF Dusty Conroy is 6'10 233 and is rated 79 overall. He's a tough defender whose offense is limited outside the paint. He's averaging 5.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg, and 1.1 spg.

JR PF Alfred Jeanpierre is 6'9 244 and he's rated 81 overall. He's the best 3 point shooter on their team as well as a good rebounder. His post defense is suspect. He's averaging 13.9 ppg, 6.1 rpg, and 1.1 bpg.

RS SO C Deng Lennon is 7'0 260 and he's rated 86 overall. He's an absolute beast in the paint. He's also got a few moves from 6-8 feet out. His post defense is strong and he's a shot blocker. He's averaging 15.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg, and 1.6 bpg.

The bench is young:

FR SF C.B. Brower (who I pursued) is their leading freshman. He's 6'8 222 and is rated 77 overall. He's a good athlete who is averaging 5 ppg and 3 rpg.

SR SG Lewis Claudino is 6'4 207 and is rated 77 overall. He's averaging 2.9 ppg.

FR C Nevil Mason provides their size off the bench. He's 6'10 270 and is rated 75 overall. He's out of shape and has poor stamina, but he has good rebounding abilities. He's averaging 1.1 ppg, 1.7 rpg in just 5 mpg.

The rest of the bench is rated in the low 70's.

Halftime: We are tied at 24.

Lennon is the player of the half with 10 points and 5 boards.

Annen with 13 points and 2 boards for us. Badu with 3 assists.

14:20 - Annen with a drive to get a 3rd foul on Lennon! We are tied at 31.

9:51 - Conroy with a strong move inside for a 3 point play. We are down 41-39. Lennon back into the game.

8:02 - Lennon with a nasty dunk on Prillman. We are down 43-39. I go with Moss, Kilgore, Annen, Stevens, and Hehn.

Annen with a 3 (on a nice assist by Moss from the post.)

Lennon with a block of Annen's next attempt, a post shot.

Conroy with a nice move in the paint to draw a foul. He hits both FT's.

4:55 - Annen with a strong drive.. Lennon blocks it.. looked like contact there but no call. Still down 45-42.

Dukes with a drive gets a 3rd foul on Hehn. He'll shoot 2. He misses the 1st and makes the 2nd.

Moss with a perfect bounce pass to Stevens in the paint but he mishandles it. They get a fastbreak basket by Matheus at the other end.

I call time and bring in Badu, Farrell, Annen, Hehn, and English.

4:04 - Annen misses a 3, but Farrell gets the board and draws a 4th foul on Lennon. He makes both FT's. Down 48-44.

They miss a quick 3.. Annen on the fastbreak.. he misses the dunk. That almost never happens.

Conroy beats him down the floor and dunks it and gets the foul. We are down 51-44.

Hehn and Jeanpierre exchange baskets. Hehn misses a quick shot in the post, but gets a steal and dunks it.

Farrell gets called for a blocking foul on a play by Steveroy that I thought was a charge. He makes 1 of 2 FT's. We are down 54-48 with 2:20 to go.

Badu gets Farrell a wide open look.. he shoots.. it is in.. no it rims out. Lennon with the board. Lennon with a quick hook shot in the paint. 56-48.

Farrell misses another open 3.. Annen with the long board. He takes a 3 and misses. Lennon with another basket down low. Looks like another perfect season is over..

We lose the game 58-48. Still, I take a 1 loss season another championship.

Lennon was the player of the game with 16 points, 12 boards, and 4 blocks.

Jeanpierre added 10 points and 13 boards. Steveroy had 17 points. Dukes had 9 assists.

Badu with 1 point and 6 assists. He shot 0 of 5.

Farrell with 7 points on 2 of 11 shooting.

Annen with 20 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal. He shot 7 of 19, 2 of 7, and 4 of 4.

Stevens with 5 points and 7 boards. He shot 2 of 9.

Prillman with 0 points and 10 boards.

Hehn led the bench with 10 points and 5 boards. He shot 3 of 6 and 4 of 4 from the line.

Moss with 0 points, 1 assist, and 3 turnovers.

Kilgore with 2 points and 2 boards. He shot 1 of 4. English with 2 points and 2 boards. He shot 1 of 3.

Hopefully, we won't have any more horrible shooting games like that in our future.

Our next game is at 16-9 Washington. They have a talented starting 5:

JR PG Ron Laws is battling a sprained wrist but will play. He is 6'2 184 and is rated 86 overall. He's a good shooter and a solid playmaker with no weaknesses. He's averaging 6.5 ppg and 3.7 apg.

SR SG Alexis Boggan is 6'5 211 and is rated 87 overall. He's more of a slashing guard who plays great defense. He's averaging 9.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 1.6 spg.

SO SF Dan Boticki is 6'5 211 and is rated 81 overall. He has tremendous athleticism. He's averaging 4.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 2.3 apg.

JR PF Marvin Mance is 6'7 232 and he's rated 85 overall. He's a real good 3 point shooter. He's averaging 10 ppg and 6 rpg.

SR C Devon Wise is 6'11 284 and is rated 87 overall. His stamina is his only weakness. He's averaging 26.6 ppg, 8.5 rpg, and 1.9 bpg. So much for Annen winning player of the conference..

The bench is led by another dominant big man - SO C Max McDade. I almost went after him hard, I wish I had. He's now 7'1 250 and rated 83 overall. He's going to be a beast next year for them. As it is, he is averaging 7.7 ppg and 2.8 rpg in just 14 mpg.

SO PG W.B. Henry is their next best bench player. He's 6'0 180 and rated 82 overall. He's averaging 6.9 ppg and 3.3 apg in 18 mpg.

FR SG Len Dilligard is a strong candidate to win Freshman of the Year. He's a tremendous 3 point shooter and he has size at 6'6 210. He's rated 82 overall. He's averaging 7.2 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and 2.5 apg in 24 mpg.

They have 4 more FR or SO's who are rated 78-81 on the bench. They will be great in a year or two..

7:45 - Annen is fouled by Mance who gets his 2nd. We are up 18-12. Guys are tired. I bring in Cox, Moss, Kilgore, Fuller, and English (as Wise just came back and I need a big body on him.)

5:42 - Moss with a steal, a breakaway dunk, and foul. Henry fouled him from behind. We lead 25-15.

We've been double teaming Wise every time he gets the ball in the paint this game and it is working very well..

2:30 - We lead 34-19 as I bring back Badu and Farrell.

Halftime: We lead 37-22. We've held them to 27% shooting.

Annen is the player of the half with 7 points, 3 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 3 of 7.

3:20 - Badu fouls out! We lead 57-50. Farrell back into the game. Going to challenge them with size. We go with Farrell, Kilgore, Annen, Stevens, and English.

Stevens with a fadeaway in the paint.

Annen with a spectacular behind the back dribble and drive into the lane for a dunk over Boticki. We lead 61-51.

Wise with a quick dunk. Their full court trap forces a turnover and they hit a 3. It's a 5 point game. 61-56. 1 minute left.

Farrell and Annen manage to break the trap. Annen drives into the lane and kicks it out to Kilgore for a wide open 3.. swish!

That takes the last bit of energy out for them. They miss a quick 3 and foul, but their heart isn't in it anymore.

We win the game 66-56.

Annen is the player of the game with 27 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals. He shot 9 of 19, 2 of 6, and 7 of 11.

Badu with 7 points, 5 boards, and 4 assists.

Farrell with 3 points on 1 of 8 shooting. The wrist is clearly hurting his shooting touch.

Stevens with 5 points, 4 boards, and 2 steals. He shot 2 of 10. No injury to justify that.

English with 6 points, 5 boards, and 1 assist. He helped hold Wise to 14 points, 11 boards, and 2 blocks.

Kilgore led the bench with 9 points and 5 boards. He shot 3 of 4 from the arc.

Prillman with 2 points and 8 boards.

Moss with 5 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, and 1 steal in 12 minutes.

In recruiting news, 4 star SF Cori Eaton has told us that he is choosing Washington over us.

Wolfe led the bench with 7 points but he suffered a minor injury. Stevens also suffered a minor injury.

Stevens will be sore for a week as he suffered bruised ribs. Wolfe broke a finger and will be 100% in 4-5 weeks.

I decide to sim the next game and play the last regular season game of the year, rather than the other order.

March 4, 2039 -

We host a 11-15 OSU team that we should crush.

We beat them 106-58.

Badu with 22 points, 5 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals, and a block. He shot 7 of 10.

Farrell with 13 points on 4 of 11 shooting.

Annen with 21 points, 9 boards, and 3 assists on 8 of 19 shooting.

Stevens with 11 points and 11 boards.

English with 10 points, 9 boards, and 2 blocks.

Fuller with 14 points. Kilgore with 9 poiints. Prillman with 4 points and 2 boards.

Our last game of the year is hosting 13-16 Cal.

One of their best players, SO SG Kabir Kou is out with a separated shoulder. Normally, he would be starting and be their clear #2 option.

They are starting 3 freshman, a SO, and a JR and they are struggling as a result:

FR PG Clinton Atangana is the most talented of the 3. He is 5'11 177 and rated 79 overall. He's a good 3 point shooter. He's averaging 9.2 ppg and 3.7 apg.

FR SG Philip Pratt is 6'3 205 and wasn't playing much before the injury. Now he's starting and averaging 2.5 ppg and 1.3 apg. He's rated 75 overall.

FR SF Gerard Millar is 6'7 213 and is rated 76 overall. He's averaging 5.4 ppg and 4.2 rpg.

SO PF Jerrard Clement is 6'6 226 and is rated 79 overall. He's averaging 4.2 ppg and 3.9 rpg.

JR C Jibran Delgado is their only big time weapon. He's 7'4 268 and he's rated 85 overall. He's averaging 14.2 ppg, 5.8 rpg, and 2.6 bpg.

SO C Dakari Garza is their best bench player and will play a lot of minutes along Delgado. He's 6'10 241 and is rated 82 overall. He's averaging 6.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg, and 1.9 bpg.

The rest of their bench is rated in the low to mid 70's.

I'll play them later today.

19:27 - First time I've ever done this. Ran a play where Annen cut to the hoop and Badu threw a perfect alley-oop. Never had one of those off our half-court before now.

17:55 - Badu with a drive gets a 2nd foul on Delgado. We are tied at 7.

11:20 - Both sides are executing extremely well on offense. We are tied at 20.

10:52 - Badu on the fastbreak.. he is hammered from behind by Garza, their backup C, he is hurt. He's holding his knee. Cox into the game at PG.

9:00 - We are tied at 24. Cox, Moss, Kilgore, Fuller, and English is the lineup now.

8:00 - Badu was just cleared to return. I'll bring him back in a few.

5:00 - Badu back into the game. Prillman into the game. We are tied at 30.

Halftime: We lead 43-39.

Badu did most of his damage before the injury, but he is still the player of the half with 7 points, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Wierd half. Farrell only took 2 shots. Annen only took 3. I expect us to get them both the ball much more this half.

Kilgore with 7 points. Stevens with 7 points. Fuller with 6.

15:18 - Annen with a drive to get a 3rd foul on Delgado who had 8 straight points. We lead 50-47.

9:44 - Kilgore in for Annen. We lead 63-53.

4:52 - Annen and Prillman into the game. Badu, Kilgore, Annen, Stevens, and Prillman now. We lead 72-63.

Annen with a dunk. Annen with a steal. Annen with an assist. Annen with a 3. He helps us finish it off comfortably.

We win the game 80-65.

Annen is the player of the game with 19 points, 3 boards, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block. He shot 7 of 16, 3 of 7, and 2 of 4.

Badu with 10 points, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

Farrell iwth 11 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal. He shot 5 of 13.

Stevens with 13 points, 5 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

English with 3 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks.

Kilgore led the bench with 11 points and 6 boards.

Fuller with 6 points and 1 block.

An abbreviated updated look at the roster now:

JR PG Marcellus Badu has gone from an 88 overall to a 90 overall. I'll be shocked if he comes back for his senior year. He is projected to be a lottery pick. He is averaging 10.2 ppg, 6.1 apg, 2.3 rpg, and 1.7 spg.

Walk-on PG Domonic Cox has gone from an 81 to an 83. He is averaging 2.0 ppg and 1.0 apg in 5 mpg.

SR SG Arzelle Farrell has gone from an 88 to an 89 in overall rating. He's had a down year as he was bothered by his wrist injury. He's averaging 14.6 ppg (down 1.1), 1.9 rpg, and 2.1 apg (down 0.8)

Connally Moss has gone from a 76 to a 78 in overall rating. He's averaging 2.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, and 1.8 apg. All of those numbers are down from last year as he is averaging 2 less minutes per game at 7.4 mpg.

RS SR Leo Annen has gone from a 92 to a 94 overall. I believe that is my highest rated player ever. His 19.2 ppg (up 7 ppg from last year) is one of the highest averages I've had from any player at USC. He is also averaging career high 4.7 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.6 spg, and 1.2 bpg. He's projected to be the #1 pick in the draft.

RS SO SF Kody Hehn has gone from an 85 to a 87 in overall rating. If he comes back next year, he'll be a focal point of our offense as we'll be very bare next year. He's averaging a career high 10.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 1.2 spg. He is projected to be a 1st round pick if he came out now and I wouldn't be surprised if he left early..

RS SO SF Devon Kilgore has gone from a 83 to a 86 overall. He's improved in every area of the game and has become a more dangerous scoring threat. If Hehn leaves, he will be the focal point next year. He's averaging 5.4 ppg, 2.3 rpg, and 0.9 apg in 12 mpg this year.

Walk-on SF Ibrahim Sylla is 6'5 197 went from a 69 to a 70. He's still very raw.

SR PF Desmond Stevens has gone from a 88 to a 91 in overall rating. He's averaging career highs in every major category - 11.2 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 1.4 apg, 2.1 spg, and 1.1 bpg. He's projected as a lottery pick.

SR A.C. Fuller has gone from an 88 to a 90 and my staff is urging me to let him try some center for us to get him on the floor more. He's averaging 5.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, and 0.7 bpg in just 13 mpg. He's projected to be a 1st rounder.

SO PF Allan Wolfe is 6'8 260 and has gone from a 82 to a 85. I'm very concerned he might transfer out of here... He's averaging 3.4 ppg, 1.7 rpg, and 0.4 apg in just 9 mpg.

Walk-on SR C Duane English has gone from an 81 overall rating to a 84. He's earned the starting job over this year and he's boosted his averages a bit. He's averaging 4.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg, and 0.8 bpg in just 16 mpg.

FR C Rylan Prillman has gone from a 76 to a 78 rating. He is averaging 3.1 ppg, 4.0 rpg, and 0.5 bpg in 14.9 mpg.

Walk-on C Jeffrey Blankenship has gone from a 68 to 70 overall rating.

FR Walk-on C Uche Adeife has gone from a 66 to 68 overall rating.

Our first game in the Pac-10 Tourney will be against Oregon State. They beat Cal 78-50 in the 1st round. I'll play them later. Should be an easy game.

My staff has convinced me. We are starting Badu, Farrell, Annen, Fuller, and Stevens.

15:00 - We lead 9-6. Annen with 5.

11:30 - Annen putting on a show with the dunks. We lead 17-10.

9:30 - They call time again. We lead 23-12.

6:30 - Annen has had an epic first half. I rest all of my starters. We lead 31-15 and we are in the double bonus.

2:41 - We go scoreless for almost 4 minutes before Wolfe scores on a FT. We lead 32-22.

1:20 - We lead 32-27 as I bring back our starters.

Halftime: We lead 36-27.

Annen is the player of the half with 20 points, 5 boards, 1 assist, and 4 steals.

16:30 - They have opened with a 10-0 run. We are down 37-36. Time for Annen to take over again.

8 quick points by Annen and Farrell in response.

5:44 - I should have pulled my starters a few minutes ago, but they were on such a run that I just couldn't do it.. not when Annen was so close to 50 points.. We lead 85-49 as I pull all of my starters. Annen has had the highest scoring output in a single game of any player I've ever coached.. I go with my big lineup for defense: Moss, Kilgore, Wolfe, Prillman, and English.

We win the game 91-58.

Amazing game for Annen - 52 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, and 9 steals. He shot 17 of 18, 2 of 2, and 16 of 18.

Badu with 8 points, 11 assists, 2 boards, and 2 steals.

Farrell with 15 points and 3 assists. He shot 7 of 12.

Fuller with 3 points, 9 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. He shot 1 of 6. So much for great offense.

Stevens with 6 points, 9 boards, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. He shot 2 of 5.

English led the bench with 2 points and 4 boards.

Moss with 2 points, 2 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block in 11 minutes.

Kilgore shot 1 of 6 and had 2 points.

Our next game will be against Washington. They are 20-11 and they beat Stanford 68-65.

They are missing Boticki who has a broken ankle. Otherwise, they have the same lineup we played recently when we won 66-57. We also beat them 71-61 at their place earlier in the year.

With Boticki out, they start FR Len Dilligard at SF.

They have 4 more FR or SO's who are rated 78-81 on the bench. They will be great in a year or two..

Badu with 8 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Yep. He is so fast that he can get to the line almost at will, particularly if I get him plays that roll him off screens and such. Now, it is just a matter of how bad he wants to drive inside and risk injury. Best player I've ever had I think.

Fittingly enough, we'll face Oregon in the Pac-10 Final. They are 26-4 and 3rd in both polls. They are healthy and very talented with Swanson leading the way. A quick repost of their lineup from earlier in the year:

SR PG Randall Luna is rated 85 overall and is 5'10 183. He's averaging 16.4 ppg and 5.6 apg. He is an elite 3 point shooter.

SR SG Bob Swanson is rated 90 overall, but he is battling a dislocated finger that has messed with his shooting touch. He is still averaging 14 ppg. He is 6'6 199 and his biggest relative weakness is his strength and defense.

JR SF Marko Rost is rated 83 overall and is their best defender. He's raw offensively. He's averaging 4.5 ppg and 3.9 rpg. He is 6'5 207.

SR PF Alton Lloyd is rated 87 overall and is 6'8 206. He is their leading scorer at 16.9 ppg. He can score from anywhere on the floor. He is also their leading rebounder at 7 rpg.

JR C Austen Tinsley is rated 85 overall but is only 6'7 225. He's got great range for a center and will draw our guys out to the arc. He's averaging 6.8 ppg and 4.4 rpg.

SR SG Deon Gizzard leads the bench. He is 6'4 194 and is rated 87 overall. He's averaging 8.6 ppg.

SO PG Jermaine Hollins is going to be a superstar. He's 5'11 178 and is rated 85 overall. He's averaging 7.4 ppg and 5.0 apg in just 20 mpg off the bench. He was the 8th best player in his class.

SO C Dedric Wingate is 6'11 236 and is rated 80 overall. He's averaging 3.6 ppg and 1.9 rpg 5 mpg.

The rest of the bench is also in the high 70's.

I'll play them tomorrow.

Washington handled North Carolina 75-61, so we'll play our old foe one more time. We beat them 61-59 in the conference tourney last week. We also beat them 66-57 at their place and 71-61 at our place.

We get great news as Hehn has been cleared to play in the game! He'll really open things up for us. I'll play them later today.

Crud. The doctors didn't clear Hehn after all... he's still unable to go. I thought he was cleared.

Kilgore in for Annen.

8:20 - Kilgore with a hard drive to get a 2nd foul on Wise. We are down 19-16.

5:00 - Fuller picks up his 2nd foul. I rest all of my starters and bring back Annen. We are down 25-22. We are going with Moss, Kilgore, Annen, Wolfe, and English.

Annen and Kilgore playing some nice basketball off each other.

Halftime: We are tied at 35.

Annen is the player of the half with 10 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Kilgore with 12 points. Farrell also with 10 points.

13:30 - Farrell picks up his 3rd foul. Kilgore in for him.

10:19 - Badu with a 3 to give us our first lead in a while. We lead 53-51. Farrell back into the game.

9:00 - Our run continues. We lead 57-51. They call time again.

Wise with a nice move to end our run. Wise has 15 points now.

7:00 - Wise is keeping them in it. Farrell has been doing the most damage for us this half. We lead 60-57. Wise has 6 straight points.

Farrell fouls Dilligard on a 3 point attempt.. he makes all 3 to tie the game.

5:45 - Moss with a block and breakway dunk! We lead 64-60.

English with a block. Farrell with another 3!

English forces Wise into an awkward shot that he misses. Farrell with 12 footer. We lead 69-60 with just under 5 minutes to go.

Farrell with another 3!

2:35 - Longer break than expected for Annen, but they are making one last run. We lead 72-65 as I bring back Badu, Annen, and Stevens.

2:12 - Annen down low.. they double team him.. he passes it out to Farrell who hits the 3 before they can rotate to him. Farrell with 31 now.

Hehn is now back healthy! And wow. Our team is rated a 100 overall in rating. I haven't seen that since the patch came out way back in 2008.

Guys current ratings:

Annen is rated 95 overall now! Fuller 91, Stevens 91, Badu 91 (no way he comes back next year), Farrell 89, Hehn 88 (could go early too), Kilgore 86, Wolfe 85, Cox 84, English 84, Moss 78, and Prillman 78.

Our opponent in the Sweet 16 is... Maryland! They are the #4 seed and they beat #5 San Diego State 89-66 in their last game.

A look at the other Sweet 16 Match-ups:

#3 Rhode Island will play #10 Auburn. We'll play the winner if we can beat Maryland.

In the West:

#1 Oregon vs #4 UConn
#3 Vanderbilt vs #7 Stanford

In the Midwest:

#9 Missouri upset #1 Texas A&M to face #5 Northwestern.

#2 Mississippi State vs #3 Miami (FL)

In the South:

#1 BYU vs #4 FSU
#3 Xavier will play #7 Texas Tech which upset #2 La Salle 76-75.

Maryland is currently 25-9 (12-4.) They are rated 92 overall. They have a hole at C, but have a talented top 8 players:

SO PF Nile Dye is their best player. He's 6'7 220 and is rated 89 overall. He was the 9th player in his class. He's strong, fast, and can shoot. He's averaging 14 ppg, 6.2 rpg, and 1.7 bpg.

SR SG Othello Hairston is their top senior player. He's 6'5 230 and is rated 88 overall. He's an assassin from outside. He's averaging 17.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 3.4 apg.

SR PG Oliver Haigler is 5'11 170 and is rated 85 overall. He's a quick athletic player. He's averaging 9.8 ppg and 3.3 apg.

SR SF Ben Luber loses minutes to the two SG's behind him but he starts. He's 6'5 215 and is rated 82 overall. He's a good midrange shooter. He's averaging 6.9 ppg and 3.4 rpg.

SO PF K.J. Bean starts at C. He is 6'9 224 and is rated 76 overall. He's averaging 5.5 ppg and 4.7 rpg.

SR SG D.C. Horton is their top bench player. He is 6'4 220 and is rated 83 overall. He's an excellent 3 point shooter. He's averaging 10.9 ppg and 3.4 rpg.

SR SG Nathan Covington is 6'3 229 and is rated 82 overall. He's an athletic defender. He's averaging 4.4 ppg and 2.3 spg.

FR SG Jamie McCray is their top freshman. The 6'2 200 pound SG is rated 77 overall. He's averaging 3.5 ppg.

FR Sead Zivanovic is their only big man on the bench. He's 7'0 250 but he's only rated 67 overall. He's a slow plodding player who is a subpar defender and he can't do much other than dunk. He's averaging 2.7 ppg and 2.2 rpg in 13 mpg.

I'll play them tomorrow.

18:00 - We start out with 2 quick bad shots that allow them to jump to a 5-0 lead, but we bounce back with 5 quick points by Farrell. Tied at 5.

15:30 - Annen showing the NBA scouts that he could play point if they wanted him to. 5 assists already and he just had a nasty behind the back dribble to beat his man on the fastbreak and get a dunk. We lead 13-10.

14:40 - Stevens picks up his 2nd foul. I bring in English at C. We are tied at 13.

13:00 - NO! Their huge back-up center absolutely hammers Badu on a drive inside. He is down and it doesn't look good. We are tied at 17.

Both teams playing at a very high pace..

8:45 - Annen is tired. We're going to wear out their entire team if we keep up this pace. I bring in Hehn for Annen. We lead 30-26.

8:25 - Farrell finds Hehn for a baseline jumper which he swishes. Good to have him back.

7:00 - English picks up his 2nd foul. He had a good stretch on the floor. I bring in Prillman. We lead 33-30.

5:00 - I go with Annen, Kilgore, Hehn, Wolfe, and Prillman. We lead 38-33.

4:10 - Annen picks up his 2nd foul. I'm going to let him try to play through it..

Wolfe is dominating the boards.

Halftime: We lead 48-39.

Badu has a sprained ankle but is going to give it a go in the 2nd half.

Farrell is the player of the half with 16 points, 4 assists, 3 boards, and 1 steal.

Annen with 2 points, 8 assists, and 2 steals. He has shot 1 of 6.

We are going to keep English in for the 2nd half. Badu, Farrell, Annen, Stevens, and English will start the half.

Annen with back-to-back-to-back dunks off great moves. Our portion of the crowd is going crazy. (Annen is my first player ever to get up to a 99 in dunk rating. It's fun seeing some of the crazy dunks he does.)

We start with a 13-0 run before they score in the half.

16:10 - We lead 61-41.

10:00 - I rest my starters, possibly for the rest of the game. We lead 77-54. I put in Cox, Moss, Hehn, Wolfe, and Prillman.

8:20 - Moss hits his first 3 of the year (and I think first shot outside of the paint of this year.)

4:38 - Moss with another 3! We lead 88-71. That 3 ended a 12-0 run.

We win the game 93-83.

Annen is the player of the game. He finished with 23 points, 9 assists, 3 boards, and 2 steals. He shot 11 of 18, 1 of 3, and 0 of 2.

Badu with 5 points, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block.

Farrell with 22 points, 5 assists, 3 boards, 1 steal, and 1 block. He shot 8 of 11, 2 of 5, and 4 of 4.

Fuller with 4 points, 3 boards, and 2 assists.

Stevens with 5 points, 8 boards, and 2 assists.

The Fuller/Stevens experiment is over. Back to English starting at C and Stevens at PF.

Hehn was rusty. He finished with 7 points and 5 boards on 3 of 10 shooting.

Kilgore with 9 points, 4 boards, 1 assist, and 1 block. Wolfe with 2 points and 6 boards. English with 4 points, 4 boards, and 2 blocks in 18 minutes.

Cox with 2 points and 3 assists. Prillman with 2 points and 4 boards. Moss with 8 points and 2 assists as he shot 2 of 4, including 2 of 3 from the arc.

Badu has a mild/moderate sprain. He'll be less than 100% for the rest of the season but will play through it.

A look at the Sweet 16 other game results:

UConn upset Oregon 86-80.

Stanford upset Vanderbilt 71-66. The two of them will play in the West regional Elite 8 game.

BYU beat FSU 78-76. They will play Texas Tech which upset Xavier 71-66.

Northwestern crushed Missouri 96-60. They will play Mississippi State which beat Miami 73-70.

Finally, #3 Rhode Island beat #10 Auburn 77-75 to advance to play us.

Rhode Island is 30-5 this year with a 13-3 conference record. They are rated 87 overall, weaker than our last 2 opponents. However, they have excellent team cohesion with 5 upper classmen starting:

SR PG Clarence Muhammad is the star of the team. The 6'0 175 guard is very quick and could be a problem for Badu's gimpy ankle. He's rated 85 overall. He's averaging 14.2 ppg and 4.8 apg.

JR SG Zack Mutombo is 6'4 200 and is rated 82 overall. He is slowed down by a calf injury, but he is normally an explosive dribble-drive player. He is averaging 12.5 ppg and 4.1 rpg.

SR SF Ibrahim Diogu is 6'6 240 and is rated 81 overall. He's an extremely good 3 point shooter. He's averaging 10.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg.

JR C Dotun Boyd is an athletic big man at 6'10 240. He's rated 80 overall. He has some nice post moves to compliment his agility, speed, and strength. He is also a very good shot blocker. He's averaging 15.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, and 2.2 bpg.

SR G/F Landon Hogan is starting at PF. He's 6'8 205 and is rated 74 overall. He doesn't have any strengths. He's averaging 3.4 ppg and 2.9 rpg.

SR Salim Nunez is their only quality bench player. He's 6'2 182 and is rated 78 overall. He's averaging 5.4 ppg and 2.1 apg.

13:30 - We are on a 8-0 run. They call time. We lead 18-8.

10:30 - Hehn in for Annen and Prillman in for English. We lead 23-10.

2:30 - They played so well that I waited a bit longer than usual to make a switch. We lead 42-23. Moss, Kilgore, Annen, Hehn, and English will finish the half.

Halftime: We lead 50-25.

Farrell is the player of the half with 17 points on 7 of 8 shooting.

Stevens with 8 points and 5 boards. Annen with 7 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists. He has shot 2 of 7.

12 minutes - We lead 78-39. I pull my starters. Cox, Moss, Hehn, Wolfe, and Prillman will finish this out.

44 seconds - Moss with another 3. Teams are going to stop sagging off him so much on the perimeter which should be a nice improvment.

We win the game 95-68.

Farrell is the player of the game with 23 points, 3 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal. He shot 9 of 11, 4 of 5, and 1 of 1.

Badu with 10 points, 3 boards, and 7 assists.

Annen with 12 points, 6 boards, and 6 assists. He shot 4 of 12, 0 of 2, and 4 of 6.

Stevens with 15 points, 10 boards, and 4 assists. He does much better with a true big alongside him.

English with 10 points, 6 boards, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in 22 minutes.

Hehn led the bench with 18 points, 4 boards, 2 assists, and 1 block. So glad to have him back.

Prillman with 2 points and 5 boards. Moss with 5 points, 2 assists, and 1 steal.

Who will we be facing in the Final Four?
