Was it random which mob team gained a favor when the village used a black market service or was there a chance of both teams gaining favor?

It was random, I just rolled to see which mobster got the benefit (until there was only one left obviously). Which if there was a conversion, or at least the paranoia of one, might have been interesting. I was hoping for a close vote changed by a mob vote switch, that would have made things exciting.
