Over 1800 posts in this thread.

If I were Bubba, I'd put this on my resume.

My guess is that his tinfoil hat either ran out of prepaid Internet minutes, or he can't get it adjusted to the right frequency for Internet access.

Glad to see that he's in a good mood. I don't think that Davvidd even gets that much of anything is wrong here--or that there are people (Matrix Games) who stand to lose more if/when this blows up than their programming hobby.

I've somehow managed to stay completely out of this thread and didn't even realize it. Does anyone care to summarize what the hell's been going on around here for 37 pages?!

Or is it worth reading?

Did anyone actually read this? Here's my favorite quote:

Plus, I think Daivd should stick to writing train management contol software

Erik tells someone over there regarding the 3d animations "if the game were focused on arcade mode, we would want more".

Well, it's not focused on sim mode either, is it? It's not a text sim, it's not got a good arcade mode... at least the beer tent is realistic.

not even close, the limerick off was around pages 28-29... (I had to go back and check, I am not taking notes of when cool stuff happened, there's just too much of it )

Now now, there is enough for them to be bashed over without having to stretch. There actually is a middle point between text sim and arcade game, and that's a good COACHING sim (which this would like to be). You call plays and watch the guys run the play in real-time. That's what FPS started out as, and there's still room in the market for something similar.

Now to get back on topic: not that Maximum Football looks like it will fit the bill...

To be honest, I think the fact that I haven't been interested in playing a text sim game since...hell, probably OOTP5...is the main reason I wasn't interested in clicking this thread. I'm just not as motivated to play any of these games as I used to be. It coincided somewhat with our second kid - I used to be able to play for hours at a time and build up some continuity; that doesn't happen much these days. Civ IV is about the only game I've been willing to put aside 3+ hours to play in one sitting, and even that can't happen much.

I didn't really pay attention to the fact that this thread got so big. More than likely, I just confused the length of the thread with a werewolf thread and thought it was a normal thread about a game I wouldn't be interested in anyway.

Sorry for the non-humorous response. I haven't gotten into the swing of this thread yet.

I think you're reading too much into the warning. Its a form letter that is identical to the warning given Druez several days ago.

that's cool, keep reading, you'll get to the good, err, better stuff soon enough. In all fairness, I too didn't have any interest for that game and I kind of caught on around page 12 or so, made for a lot less of a backlog in reading

So, the poobah of Media Relations says that any publicity is good publicity, but they are editing or deleting threads to one of the biggest discussions of their product.

Great teamwork going on over there. Obviously everyone is on the same page.
