Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see Fisher as an upgrade over Sumlin, like at all. I think the Aggies will always have a tough time competing in that division.

Maybe, but unlike Sumlin he's got a championship ring.

So this is fun, before this season Bruce Feldman at SI did his 30 Hottest Names on the Coaching Carousel (divided into 15 coaches at smaller programs and 15 coordinators). Obviously Frost helped his status this year (he was listed as the #6 head coach) and other names like Satterfield have been throw around. I found #3 in the "Rising Assistant Coaches" to be quite amusing considering the last week.

I think Mike Leach would have been a real fun hire. SEC coaches are boring and he'd at least be interesting on the biggest stage.

Fulmer is going to go get Tee Martin. This is what the fan base wanted. I honestly don't know if it isn't what they needed as well.

Hiring a guy with zero head coaching experience that doesn't call plays is exactly how you win in the SEC.

You know, I don't know. IF Tee Martin hires the right OC and DC, it entirely could happen. I'd say you get an old school SEC DC, maybe someone that has head coaching experience. Then, a innovative play caller on OC. Let Tee be the CEO and really recruit his butt off. Could work.

Damn, was hoping Tee would stay at SC. Killer recruiter but from reading the SC message boards, a lot of his OC duties left a lot to be desired

Yeah, there is some debate about who is actually calling the plays but assuming it’s been Tee don’t think many USC fans will be too devastated. I think he was out of his depth as an OC. Might end up being a better HC as he’s personable, a great recruiter and the kids like him but that’s a huge gamble for a program like UT (or at least the program they were before the last 10 days happened)

The only consolation is that Helton's brother will most likely get the OC duties. He might end up being dynamic, but at least for now, the level of neoptism will likely drive the fans crazy.

I'll say this for the Trojans, they do find ways to pull out wins. Good teams can usually do that

If they had won their division, wouldn’t they be in the ACC Champ game....what am I missing?

It was rescheduled after the hurricane with a contingency/buy out if they got into the championship game.

UCF looks like they're going to roll a good Memphis team again and win the 4th best conference this year.

It's tough enough to keep the OU offense from scoring, you can't let their defense score as well.

Have to root for TCU today. First, because I love chaos. Secondly, The Purple Horn Frogs is the best name for a team in all of football.

Of course as I type this, The Sooners get a scoop-and-score.

And now UCF is self destructing. 3 straight turnovers, 2 in the red zone, and now an unsportsmanlike penalty on a 3rd down stop that would have forced a FG attempt.

Well at least Coastal Carolina ended their season on a good note. They beat Georgia Southern 28-17 to stay out of last place in the Sun Belt with 3 wins. Also on a good note, their head coach, out all season with a lung issue, looks like he will be back coaching next season. They will also have their full component of scholarship players available too, so lots to look forward to next season.

I'm in shock. I really didn't think the Dawgs could win, especially after that first half. I just can't. I can only dream that Miami wins, and Georgia plays Richt in the first round of the playoffs. Then.....the natty in Atlanta?

When Chubb, Michel, Bellamy and Carter all came back for their season year, they said there was unfinished business and they came back to win the SEC and a national championship. I thought they were crazy. Now...

I will also say this, going back to the earlier conversation...Swift that scored that last big touchdown. He's a Philly kid, and could be at Rutgers if that had a good program. You could put him at QB and win 8 games. Just him.

I would think Penn State would still have much more pull in Philly, even if Rutgers did have a good program.
