You are missing my point here. Indeed, some things that happen in the field should be treated with court and jail. But most of them are "natural", if you consider the kind of movements you do in a football game, while tackling, fighting for space or even when you get pissed off and lose your mind, or even cheating and trying to get an unfair advantage. I wish we lived in a perfect world that could deal with all those things in a perfect way.

But come from behind and unexpectedly bite someone has nothing to do with it. And being the 3rd time it is mental institution material. If it was Messi that did this, great player, nice guy kind of person it would already be bad enough. Being the scum he is, what else can be said?

Maybe thats what the Uruguayans should have done, just shut up.
Captain Lugano - "Chielini was pretending, those scars are old!"
Suarez - "Those are things that normally happen in the field. My face hit his shoulder and now I have a black eye"

As we say here its better to hear this than to be deaf

I have outrage at any cheap shot, tackle, etc. This borders on a mental disorder. I think he believes he didn't do anything wrong. Biting another person in life is sick, three times is beyond disgusting.

As this is his third offense for the same thing, he should get a couple of years, all competitions. Enough is enough.

It's going to be a real test of FIFA to see how they handle this.

One thing I forgot on this and not many people are talking about it:

How amazing is it that at the same time he takes a bite out of a guys shoulder, he also takes a dive and throws his hands over his face like the Italian elbowed him. This is some serious talent guys and gals. Suarez probably has banking executives visiting him on off days so they can figure out how to cheat and throw blame elsewhere at the same time.

What a true scumbag.

Swedish fan wins World Cup prop bet after Luis Suarez bites opponent | Dirty Tackle - Yahoo Sports

Quote:
betting site Betsafe decided to have some fun before the World Cup by creating a prop bet that involved another chomp from Suarez. The prop bet went off at 174/1, according to a site spokesman, and Swedish soccer fan Mats Johansson decided to throw 10 kronor ($1.83 USD) down and hope the madman went mad.

HA!!

Now, I don't blame Chiellini for it as it was a reaction to getting bit, and yeah Suarez sold it on the ground like all 19 other players on those 2 teams do all game (I'll except Muslera and Buffon), but I'm pretty certain Chiellini hit him in the face.

Putting "natural" in quotes is pretty much my point. There are plenty of instances where it's clear to everyone that someone is deliberately trying to injure their opponent, but because they can mask it somewhere close to a normal action they get a lenient punishment. People want to throw the book at things like biting because it's clearly not a soccer play, when other actions are much more dangerous.

Didn't hit him from any angle I saw. I saw a delayed reactionby Suarez. Then, once he saw his ploy didn't work, he started feeling up the part of his face that was sore. . . His teeth

When i checked their website last night, there was no mention of any incident between Suarez and Chiellini at all: either in the news, in the match report, or even in the comments section.

Suspecting a whitewash already.

The Uruguyans know who to blame in the Luis Suarez thing..

The British Press..

Wait, what????

Yup. Here's a sampling of response:

A heated exchange with (Uruguay manager) Tabarez in his news conference ended with him claiming this was nothing more than a conspiracy against Suarez led by the British media. One Uruguayan journalist actually stood up and applauded Tabarez's answer.

again from Tabarez

"this is a football World Cup - it's not about morality, cheap morality".

Yo Tabarez, stop talking already.

"As we say in Uruguay, there are people who are hiding behind a tree waiting for someone to make a mistake. Suarez, despite mistakes he might have made, is a target of certain media, of press."

and..

Uruguay captain Diego Lugano said: "You couldn't have seen it because nothing happened. The worst of everything is the attitude of Chiellini. As a man, he disappointed me totally."

It's best not to tell them that disallowed goal would have put them into the second round with the current scores...

Don't announce a bombing in Nigeria during a sportcast of the FIFA match - that's an odd combination.

EDIT - Especially near the end of the match. Wait ten minutes.

There is a fierce rivalry between Brazil and Argentina, way "stronger" than reasonable, imo. I had many Argentinians friends through my life and this kind of almost going to war rivalry always seemed stupid to me.
But the way they (argentinians) are behaving and the things they have been singing here are just beyond annoying. Im really rooting for a Brazil x Argentina final, and the one who loses just live with it.

(the worst thing is that they probably will be louder at Maracana. The vast majotiry of Brazilians that got hold of tickets dont seem to be the usual stadium crowd, different of what we see with Chileans and Argentinians)

The Uruguayan FA have said that they will be fighting any suspension of Suarez, as "the evidence is a fake photoshop"

Suarez's lawyer:

“We don’t have any doubts that this has happened because it’s Suárez involved and secondly because Italy have been eliminated,” ... “There’s a lot of pressure from England and Italy. There is a possibility that they ban him, because there are precedents, but we’re convinced that it was an absolutely casual play, because if Chiellini can show a scratch on one shoulder, Suárez can show a bruised and an almost closed eye.”

The rumored six-game FIFA Suspension would keep Suarez out of the rest of the World Cup, and depending on how far Uruguay go, keep Suarez out of Copa America 2015 (since there is no qualifying for the Copa America, the next competitive matches are in the Copa).

And Uruguay press? Yup, still idiots.

“‘Monster’: The British press’s new manhunt against Suárez,” said El Observador. “English newspapers return to attacking the Uruguayan after the alleged biting of Chiellini,” the article said.

If the Uruguayan FA denies Suarez' action, the FIFA should consider fining Uruguay, or give them an anti-fair play award or something. If they had any balls, they should have removed Suarez from the squad. Almost any other FA still in the tournament would have done that.

It's no surprise he turned out as such a despicable little twat really, given he's treated as a hero by his FA and home press. Not surprising he refused to shake Evra's hand, he's probably been enabled to the point where he thinks he's in the right.

Much better chance against Algeria than Belgium in the first round game. If they were in that bracket, they'd face the France/Nigeria winner on July 4th. USA!USA!USA!

But the other bracket would be interesting, in that a US/Costa Rica semi-final match would be a (remote) possibility.

I'm utterly indifferent. If we get out of the group with results against Ghana, Portugal, and Germany, i see no reason at all to fear Belgium. Also, i think we could really use that additional rest day (which we get if we finish in the G2 position). We're coming into this game a day short on rest, and have done more travel than anyone in the tournament. We're also riding the core group of guys very hard (which is why blowing that lead to Portugal was doubly tragic - we can't rest guys tomorrow).

On the other hand, I think we would actually be a favorite against whoever we play if we win the group (G1 position).

I just want to get out of the group. By any means necessary.

I know they are traditional knockout round chokers, but I think Mexico are going to beat the Dutch.

Either that or Rafa Marquez will once again disgrace himself with an untimely and really stupid red card.

True, but as the tournament is looking so far (and today may have jump started Argentina, of course), France looks like one of the most dangerous sides.
