youth pull, weekly update...
well, well, well, pull, pull, pull, keep on pulling and somday you'll get something other than complete crap Here's the newest Dragon...
Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities.
Not a bad pull, and since we have an open slot at winger, he will get 50% training in playmaking this week. Slow learner Jackie Cherry was supposed to play in that slot, but I feel more like giving a chance to Gavin, as I feel that his value may be a bit high for the skills he possesses. The guess I'm making is that one of his skills his a high one, let's hope it's a high passable playmaking one There is all that, and the fact that we are short of warm bodies to play in Wednesday's friendly On the financial front, the sponsor money jump to 125k U$ this week, up 6k from last week. Here's how the team's balance sheet looks before any crowd money income...
This is all in C$, and it needs to be noted that we carry an extra 8 doctors compared to our regular staff of 2, because of the injury to Jon Riser. Without these doctors on staff, the team would be only 28 733 U$ short of breakeven, WITHOUT any crowd money factored in. I am very happy about this. Speaking of Jon Riser, tonight was the first update where he had 10 PAID doctors attending to his injury, and let's say the results were not much better. Let's see how he is coming along...
First thing to notice is on Friday, which is the training update for me in Canada. Jon's value didn't AT ALL then, but moved EXACTLY double the very next update. This is not the first time I've seen this. It was even nicer that Jon's value didn't change on Friday, since he was in excellent form before his injury, and still is... When I said I wasn't impressed by the work of the extra 8 doctors, well look at the difference between Saturday morning (the 12:00 one HT-time) and Saturday evening (or 2:15 Sunday morning HT-time). ONLY 10 points more of TSI value added, dang!!! Here's how his value will be moving if that 270 becomes his new rate of improvement...
This would not be good enough to bring him back before the friendly of week 23.04... bleh... We'll see, Riser is being evaluated every day That's about it for today, see ya at the game tomorrow... FM

wek 23.03 report...
Wow, just wow. As much as I was pissed off about losing in the Canada Cup last Wednesday, I think podiatrists must be even more pissed off about that one game. Midfield was my only chance, and even with that, I decided to PIC, and got away with a win, and a spot in 2nd place of III.15, repeat after me: wow! Remember what I said in my III.15 outlook report at the start of the season... Quote:
The match was the team's 3rd best performance overall ever, at 97% of the top performance. Our midfield performance was the 7th best midfield performance ever, at 89% of the top performance. Considering this was a PIC, I am pretty happy about that result, as the few better performances all happened in games played normal, or even on MOTS order. Not only that, but this midfield performance came without Jon Riser in the lineup, which is worth mentionning. For the second competitive game in a row, the attacks pulled the best ever combined attack performance. Two offensive middies contributed a lot to these attack ratings... Sergio Chapin, Hubert Gortemaker, and Gilang Juanda all played their best match ever as Dragons. The PIC brought the team spirit to a nice POE+1, which came back down to POE after the update of this morning. As you can see from the match report, I have added some crowd analysis numbers. These number will only be present in case of a competitive home match. Since I'm out of the Cup, this means home league matches. The numbers right next to the different styles of seats, and the number farther right represent their percentage of the total crowd. I find this useful to make sure my stadium has the right split between the different styles of seats. The percentage next to the capacity of the stadium represents at what percentage the stadium was filled. The number I like to see there is 100% Only filling up to 76.8% is mostly due to the team losing in the cup this past Wednesday. Next, you can see the size of my fan club before the match and the ratio of spectators per supporter. That 21.3 is very low, and is also due to the recent Cup loss. The best we ever did is 32.7, when we sold out against The Beatdown Collective in week 10 of last season. Given how the team's fan club has grown since that time, the best we could have done this week would have been 27.7... The Dragons are now sitting in 2nd place of III.15, hosting a match for 1st place next week, as max calcio, the current holder of 1st place, will come to play at The Dojo. This bodes sort of well for the Dragons, as I see max calcio as a team we match up well with. This should make for an interesting match indeed, seeing how the Dragons just put up a best of season 172 ratings on a PIC at home (you could probably bet on a normal setting next week ), while max calcio also just put up a best of season, this time 174 at home too but the game will be at my home... Among other news, the rights to winger/middie trainee Kristoffer Bjerre were sold to a Nederland team called Bruse Boys this morning. Sale price amounted to 1 530 000 C$, or 1 392 300 C$ after taking out the agent fees. The rights to Bjerre had been bought for 774 000 C$ in week 8 of season 22 and he has received 6 complete weeks of training of playmaking and 6 complete weeks of winger training. The weekly average return on his training, excluding the weeks of stamina training, comes to 51 358 C$. This is the first time I compute that figure and will start doing so from now on... I calculate the average return as being (sales price net of agent and listing fees - buying price) / weeks of training... Is anybody else keeping track of a figure like that? I already keep track of how much the player earned per week he spent with the team, trained or not, offseason or not, but this is a low figure, given the lost weeks of training and such... Maybe I'll go back and try to figure what it was for a few old playmaking trainee I have sold in the past... That's about it for the team right now, everybody is high on life, which looks good for next week's battle for first place at The Dojo... FM

Thanks. That is pretty much a given That and the fact that with my team sitting in 2nd place, I've lost pretty much any and all chances of any other team taking me for granted and playing me softly... But I love it. FM

week 3 in III.15...
Time for a quick roundup of week 3 in III.15...
Goose Bay and Sackers both losing comes as no big surprise to me. As I said in my match report, the Dragons winning was a pleasant surprise, but there was another big surprise in the max calcio win over SD's BOYS. Here how the two teams matched up for that game...
Don't you find this very, very similar to the Dragons-podiatrists match? Other than the fact that calcio ended up with a better overall rating, thus maybe making him their win less of an upset, they were owned by SD's BOYS in every other ratings. Midfield is still very important in this game... That being said, you can't afford to go in a league like III.15 with ratings of 156 and 148, and expect to be able to compete week in, week out... I could understand Sackers maybe dropping the game in order to advance in the Cup, but Goose Bay is out, so he should have been able to put in his best lineup... I'm not gonna complain though Here's how the standings for III.15 look after 3 weeks...
See, I didn't lie, the Dragons are really in second place And this, despite only having the 5th best ratings average...
It hurst my eyes to look and see my defense ratings being the 7th and 8th in the league, but how about that midfield, huh? Speaking of those defense ratings, they should improve at least a little if GK Nick de Hooge's form keeps on improving, but I have devised a plan that should allow me to afford a brilliant keeper, and a formidable defender (or better) around week 12 of this season. I will traing Reimund Brigg and his solid passing/defending to outstanding playmaking. This should happen at week 11. I would assume I should be able to get around 2.5M U$ for a player like that. Anybody got experience with a player like that? By week 12, I expect to have around 2.2M U$ in the bank, assuming some pretty conservative crowd numbers of around 38000 spectators out of a possibility of 60036, so plenty of room for nice surprises . That 2.2M combined with the possible 2.5M from the sale of Brigg would then give me 4.7M to execute part one of my plan, get a brilliant keeper. I don't want to pay more than 3.75M for that brilliant keeper, which would leave me 0.95M for part two of my plan, a uber defender. Why a defender, you may ask. Reason is quite simple. Right now, my backfield is comprised of a solid defender playing as offensive centreback (Brigg), flanked on the same side by an excellent defender (Reuven Zaltzman), with another excellent defender (Lars Aspenander) on the island, i.e. the naked side, since I usually always pull my extra middie from the centreback position. Zaltzman is currently being trained in playmaking, in order to eventually replace Brigg as offensive centreback. When Brigg will pop to outstanding playmaking, Zaltzman should be at formidable+41% in playmaking, which would be more than enough to take Brigg's place. This would leave me with one excellent defender, then a dropoff in defending quality, with a solid one who's got no experience (Cavareda). By bringing in a top notch defender to play on the naked side, I'll be able to bring Aspenander to play alongside Zaltzman, which would make that side better (double excellent compared to solid/excellent)... Now back to the money talks So for easier calculation, I'll be left with about 1M after the keeper buy. By then, current GK Nick de Hooge (excellent keeper w/passable experience) would not be needed anymore and will be sold. I would expect to be able to get close to what I paid for him when he had only inadequate experience, which was around 900k U$. This may be high, only time will tell. Net of agent fees, that would leave me with 800k to add to the 1M, for 1.8M U$, more than enough for a formidable defender, heck this could even be enough for an outstanding with a tiny bit of wing (inadequate) to be trained in the wingback slot!!! So what do you think about that evil plan? Anybody's got a comment about the player values and possible sale price I mentionned in there? I know this will only happen in 9 weeks or so, but isn't it nice to get excited like this?!? Man I love this game FM

I would say you are pretty close with the $2.5 mil for Brigg.

I won't comment much on friendlies during the season, but I'll start with one thing: I HATE FRIENDLIES!!!! Okay, feels much better now. Crowd was nice and, no offense to my friend Tellistto, sort of unexpected from a home crowd in a division VI stadium. Let's hope we can get as many people at The Dojo next week. I hate friendlies because of stoopid injuries that happen in them. Juan María Cavareda, who was slated to start next to Reuven Zaltzman this coming Sunday, got injured with only 9 minutes to play in the match. He is still at +2 and will likely be unavailable this Sunday.... I'll see what I'll do about it, either play trainer Quentin Doaré or pick up a young wingback that could eventually be trained... FM

A quick roundup of III.15 through the 3rd round of the Cup...
Other than Sackers who got jobbed by the engine, everybody who deserved to win got the win. Sackers achieved an "excellent (very low)" midfield in that loss. That almost gets me thinking that he could have MOTSed, although that would be very stupid of him. If that was on normal, that's one scary midfield, giving them their best ratings performance of the season by almost 20 points... max calcio, the Dragons opponent in week 4, look like they have PICed with backups. In the series conference, he commented about having his team at the new "Walking on Clouds" team spirit, while the Dragons are at delirious and should hold it there until Sunday's match. Should make for one heck of a match! FM

week 3 training...
We're back with our playmaking training program this week, let's see how it went...
Training Not much was expected of our main middie trainees this week, and not much should happen for the next few weeks, as 5 of them popped in the last two regular weeks of last season. We still have two "virgin" trainees, players who have never popped once, in Jimi Hendrix, and newly pulled Gavin Weston. With Jon Riser still recovering from his injury, this opened up a winger spot for training. I had to choose between slow learner Jackie Cherry and the new kid Gavin, whom I felt had a high TSI value. I gambled with Gavin, and it paid! Gaving Weston is now a solid playmaker, after only half a week of training Here's his player card...
Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities.
I had my mind really set. As soon as he was gonna pop, he was gonna pop. So this morning I put him on the market, for the same usual price I start my youth pulls, i.e. 99 C$... But now, I'm thinking I should have kept him and trained him up maybe another level in playmaking, then some winger, and bye bye... oh well, live and learn... I know he will sell, and I won't go out of my way to keep him, but I'll keep an eye on his price... Form
The good: Old geezers may come back to the starting 11... WB Quentin Doaré and F Michael God both improved their form by one level, to inadequate and solid, respectively. This may be enough for both of them to make a push at a starting spot at their respective positions... IM trainee Miao Thanh-Tuan may finally be coming out of the form doghouse, improving to weak form this week... The bad: GK Nick de Hooge keeps his form roller coaster ride as he drops back to inadequate form... IM Reimund Brigg, and W Gheorghe Bãnicã also both lost some form, dropping to solid and inadequate, respectively... Value Changes
Nice overall value gain in this first week back to playmaking training... Biggest gainers were Miao Thanh-Tuan with 1100 TSI points, and Marcus Hansson with 840 TSI points. Among the few losers we find Gheorghe Bãnicã with 250 TSI points, and Reimund Brigg with 150 TSI points... Opponent's report Contrary to what had happened in the last few weeks, the opponent of the Dragons in this week, max calcio, had a good form update. My projected starting lineup for them has them at +4 / -1 in levels, and 3 of their players, albeit not all starters, saw improvement of +2 in their form... FM

weekly update, youth pull...
Not much to report with the weekly update. Sponsor money only increased 7260 C$, but that's in line with what usually happens around week 4. We are now at 257 730 C$ per week from sponsor money, which is almost 50k C$ more than what we had achieved at week 16 of last season...
And then the shit hit the fan, the piece of shit as in this guy:
Has disastrous experience and poor leadership abilities. Speciality: Technical
I don't know how he can technical in anything with so many wretched skills. There's gotta be a high wretched somewhere He will play in our friendly this week and be fired right after... Next up, match report for the league match of week 23.04... FM

league match, week 23.04...
Dragons are in first, Dragons are in first!!! Who would have thought? Huh? Who would have thought that the Dragons had what it takes to be in first place of a division III series, at any point of the season? Nobody, not even me With much luck and some good game planning, the Dragons won the much anticipated match for first place in III.15. Even though it took a while before geting the first update, it came as a double good news for the Dragons in the 18th minute. Right after Gilang Juanda had scored the opening goal of the game, max calcio saw their best defender being sent off and they had to continue on with one player short. François Melchior, the defender sent off, is a regular 5 to 5.5 stars contributor to their defense, making his absence a real blow to their overall defense ratings. From then on, it was all offense for the Dragons, as they mounted a 3-0 lead in the next 6 minutes. Coach Doaré showed some skills, scoring the second goal, and then thinking that if he was capable of scoring, the Dragons were just too strong, so he decided to pull back the troups at 2-0... GRRRRR The good news is that we succeeded in adding 3 more goals after going into that dreaded prevent mode... Attendance for the game was VERY disappointing, as only 26573 spectators showed up for the highly anticipated match. That number represents a ratio of only 12.2 spectators per supporter which is the lowest since two league matches were played in the rain in weeks 20.01 and 20.02, three seasons ago. Nothing warranted these low numbers, as the weather was overcast, yet not rainy, and besides losing in round 3 of the Cup, we are STILL UNDEFEATED. Even in my worse predictions, I had not envisioned getting only 177k U$ in crowd money. I sincerely thought that my figure of 250k was about as low as it was gonna get, especially with the streak I have right now, and considering this was a match for 1st place... oh well... Apart from the luck of having calcio'S best defender sent out, the Dragons' performance was the best ever for the team as a whole, pushing the former first to the second place, at 93%, so a pretty good difference between the two. This was also the team's ever solid midfield with the new ratings. That low solid translates as a world class in the old ratings... The good balance between attack and midfield is certainly what gave us the win this week, as the team topped it's best attack performance for the third competitive match in a row... Among tops in that match, we had our best total in stars, with 42, our best HATStats rating, with 185, and our first game with four players that had 4.5 stars... Among them, Gilang Juanda got his first ever 4.5 stars match which, combined with God's 3.5 stars, gave us 8 stars among our forwards... Marcus Hansson, who was until now seeing only action at middie during the team's friendlies, will now start pulling double duty, playing winger in league play, and getting his playmaking training during the friendlies. We usually have a stronger and a weaker side of attack. The stronger side used to be on the side of the more experienced Gheorghe Bãnicã, but this week, it went to Hansson's side, sign that the kid is ready for primetime... One tiny thing got me unhappy, besides the low attendance. God was injured , but kept on playing, however, he showed a bandaid after the match, sign that his player card had been updated. More than that, he scored a goal. Even with these two events, he didn't go up one notch in experience. See, I have set an experience watch for four players, God being one of them. Before the game, the price to make him an inadequate coach was 74 600 C$, well that price was the exact same after the game, that's sad... oh well... FM

III.15 roundup...
And how did it go in week 4 for the teams of III.15, let's see...
Thoroughbreds revamped midfield wasn't enough to overcome podiatrists this week, in a battle of defenses that still saw 5 goes be scored... Sacker won, as I expected. It's becoming clearer and clearer that Goose Bay isn't strong enough to play in division III for more than one season at this point... SD's BOYS may be the unluckiest team in III.15, as they came on top in ratings, yet lost the match. Their ratings got kind of boosted by a magnificent wing attack, thanks to the purchase of a utopian winger with solid passing that carries wages of 210k U$ per week He paid 5M U$ for him and the player is now on the market for 10M... Nepean saw one of their middies get redcarded in that match, making him unavailable for their match next week. The player is a 32yo middie with excellent experience that pulled 4.5 stars in his latest match. Nepean's opponent is one you know well, the Dragons themselves Here are the ratings pulled by everybody this week...
Here are the standings of III.15 after 3 weeks of activity...
As I was telling you, the Dragons are in the driver seat, getting ready to pay a visit to Nepean United in another 1st vs 2nd matchup... Our reign in 1st will probably be a short one But look at this: Promotion from 3rd Division
hehe, looks nice, doesn't it? Average ratings of everybody...
Dragons still strongly in first in midfield, and I'd expect midfield to be our saviour until the end of the season. If we keep the ball, they can't shoot on goal, if they can't shoot on goal, they can't score From HATStats, III.15 is now the 5th toughest III division in Canada...
185 is what the Dragons got this week, so we're definitely middle of the pack. We'll keep on fighting with all we've got FM

pre-friendly roundup...
We played the second leg of our home and home series with Tellistto' Fizzle this past Wednesday, but before that we pulled a hole filler and sold a player.
Kevin Young, the youth pull of last week, whom I had not even said a word about, will stick with the club, if only because he's got a very low salary. What kind of salary would a triple wretched player expect anyway... From now on, Kevin's teammates have decided that he will be know as "TW" or "triple wretched" Then, on Monday, there was the deadline of Gavin Weston's listing on the transfer market. Gavin had been started at 99 C$, so it was virtually certain that he would sell. Final price of the sale: 175 600 C$, or about 88k U$. Not bad for a youth pull who got one week of playmaking training at the winger position... That was the good news, the bad news came in the form of that message: Quote:
SAY WHAT!?!? The kid has been with the team only 9 friggin' days!!! GRRRRRR, the drop was big enough to make the team spirit fall from delirious to satisfied... FM

Not much to report, other than the rain screwed up any chance of getting a respectable crowd. No injuries is the real positive of that match, and maybe the fact that we got a ratings of 120, which is about as good as we'll get from that B squad... Kevin TW Young scored twice, despite getting only one star in his debut with the Dragons... FM

round 5 Cup roundup...
Quick at how the teams from III.15 still alive in the cup did in round 5...
Well, not too well frankly... Round 5 will be the last round where any team from III.15 will have played in the Cup. podiatrists got screwed again because of their bad midfield, as did SD's BOYS... Thoroughbreds almost looked like they threw that match, or didn't take it too seriously... Anyway, this is good news of sort for the Dragons, since now with everybody out of the cup, nobody can get the TS boost they usually get from PICing cup matches... FM

training update...
Very quick training update...
The team overall went +5 / -6 in form levels, with a not so good +1 / -3 in form levels to starters, bleh... Marcus Hansson is the only starter to go up... No pops, none expected, not for a few weeks, but around week 23.10, the team could see up to 5 of its trainees pop one level... Here's the status of every trainees...

what the man said is true, not the puking, but the friendly playing
I had Fear of God set up to play next, but they're still in the Cup. Other teams I have in my list of friendlies to be played this season are Real Terps FC, CC FC, and Crazydoods. These will probably have to wait until after the FOFC cup is over though, we'll see... FM

weekly update, youth pull, and an acquisition...
Weekly update was uneventful, if not that I totally forgot to fire 8 of my 10 doctors yesterday, doctors that were not needed anymore since Jon Riser is about 2 updates from being 100% healthy. There was that and the fact I also forgot to hire an extra economist, which was where I was up to , with almost 1.6M U$ in the bank account at the update... Oh well, no biggie, and you'll se why a bit later on, keep reading...
The sponsor money increase is now slowing considerably. We gained 2310 U$ this week, which is about 500 more than what we gained at the same update last season in division IV, so we're not going to complain... Youth pull wasn't all bad...
Has disastrous experience and passable leadership abilities. Speciality: Head
Just a sad thing he only had wretched playmaking and no real other secondaries to speak of, or I would have maybe made some place for him on my winger training program. We're still not into full time winger training yet though... Winger pulls usually don't sell for much but he was transfer listed this morning. Starting price 99 C$, like 22 or 24 U$ ... Considering he cost us 2k for the pull and 1k for the listing, we'd hope he'll sell for more than that... That wasn't the end of the day yesterday though. I have been bookmarking a few outstanding defender, usually with at least weak in winger skill. Some of them with inadequate. I was mostly getting a feel for the market, more than anything. I had placed a few bids at one time or another, usually never going over 1.5M U$, which to me looked like a bargain for an outstanding defender. Yesterday, I came accross this young fellow:
Has poor experience and poor leadership abilities. Speciality: Powerful
I had bookmarked him and many others around the end of the week and had almost completely forgotten about him, until I looged in, with 1 minute left before his deadline. I placed one bid at 1.5M U$, got outbid once, placed what would have been my last bid anyway, and it held!!! Mario is now a Dragon, bought for what I think was a very reasonable price, at 1.656M U$. Anybody wants to comment on if that is the market price?? lytic or another defender trainer?? Anyway, I liked his poor experience, and his powerful specialty, combined with excellent stamina. From what I've read, powerful defenders have few weak spots, other than losing stamina faster in the sun, but with excellent stamina, this reduces the chances of a bad event happening because of that... I know he is +1, but this is where my non-fired extra doctors come in Isn't it a good thing I forgot to fire them, huh? And that extra economist, who needs him now??? Weak form or not, he'll most probably step in the starting lineup over one of my two excellent defenders (both w/wretched exp) currently manning the wingback spots. I'm happy about that buy, even though this means I'm doing part B of my evil plan before part A, but hey, you gotta go with the flow sometimes Nest step is really to buy that brilliant keeper... FM

league match report...
I have no real reason to be mad at the loss in this game. Look at it this way. We lost the stars battle, 48.5 to 42. We lost the ratings battle 199 to 156, losing all but the midfield ratings. I went into this game fully prepared to be outclassed, so we PICed in preparation for next week's match at home against OFV Goose Bay. Yet, with a mere 4 minutes left in the match, we were ahead by 1, that's when the guys let it slip... I guess it would have hurt less if we had lost something like 1-4 or 1-5, going down early by 2 or 3 goals, heh... That was one nailbiter game, let me tell you this... More and more, the Dragons are saying: "we belong here, we will stay in III.15, and someday we will rule it..." Among good news from this match, Marcus Hansson pulled his first ever 4.5 stars performance, pushing his former personal top performance to second place, at 92%... That low inadequate on a road PIC wasn't too shabby. It felt good to have Jon Riser back on that pitch, even if that meant a bit of a drop in attack ratings... I guess Riser also felt good being back on the pitch, as he popped in experience, now up to weak experience. Riser was a clean youth pull when we bought him, this means he has gained each and every single experience point as a Dragon... Reimund Brigg also popped to weak experience, making it a nice week... 42 stars for the team tied our best ever that we had achieved just last week... Lars Aspenander picked up his third yellow of the season and will have to sit out next week's league match. This isn't as bad a news as one would think though, as newcomer outstanding defender, Mario Bayer, got to "bruised but playing" status with the Monday morning update. He will play in this week's friendly, in hope of improving his weak form... He should be 100% healthy before next week's league match... FM

III.15 roundup...
Well, my oh my, some weird results this week... Calcio drawing with podiatrists is big, but not as big as Goose Bay destroying SD's BOYS as they did, wow! Look at them ratings, that was uncalled for, nothing explains that loss, well like nothing explains how my team stayed in the game for so long
Calcio's draw may be explained a bit by the very good midfield they pulled though... Goose Bay, while getting a shitty midfield, still got a better one than the BOYS...
Dragons are still hanging in there, with the big boys of III.15 And more importantly, 7 points ahead of that dreaded 7th place and auto relegation...
III.15 slipped a little in all of III in Canada, thanks to the bottom three teams pulling lower ratings this week... FM

back on track...
This has been too much of a nice weather week that I have fallen a bit behind in my dynasty writing... Time to play catch up...
On Wednesday afternoon, Donovan Lecompte's transfer listing deadline came. He was last week's youth pull, an 18yo solid winger with not much in terms of secondaries, but a pretty nice value of 720 TSI points, or 72k U$. With the little secondaries he had, I thought it meant he was high solid. Well, high solid or not, he sold for only 12k U$. This is sad, he didn't even pay for one week of youth squad investment... oh well... Next up, friendly match report and training report... FM

friendly match report...
A good friendly, if there is ever one... All the way to penalty kicks, and funniest of all, the tie gets broken by my usually starting keeper, whom I forgot to take off the lineup for this friendly Very good news, no injuries, and with no offensive centrebacks, backups defenders in average form, and that starting keeper all in the game, the Dragons pulled their second best ever defensive performance, with inadequates of various sorts accross the defensive board... Next up, training report... FM

training, week 23.05...
Training
No pops are expected for at least another two weeks, and none happened this week. This is kind of a slow time for training, but we'll have a crazy 2 weeks span around week 10-11... Form
Not a bad update overall, could have been better, could have been much worse. Among the good news, starters Marcus Hansson, and Reuven Zaltzman both popped in form, to excellent and solid respectively. Among the bad news, a non-pop to newly arrived Mario Bayer that leaves him at weak form. Even worse, he lost some value, meaning he's now closer to poor than to inadequate. Let's hope that playing him regularly will bring back some good form for him... Value
I don't know if you've realized, but Hattrick has now stopped showing the player value with the currency of your country. I guess now is the time to start speaking solely in terms of TSI... Not a bad week. A monster move up went to trainee Patrik Kvarning who gained 1070 TSI points without popping in form... Same for Mia Thanh-Tuan, who went up 650 TSI points, also without any change in form... Big drops went to Reimund Brigg, and Jon Riser, who despite being trained this week, both saw their values go down around 400 TSI points each. Opponent overview Now this is where the good news could be found this week, as OFV Goose Bay went +2 / -10 in form levels adjustment to their overall roster, and 0 / -5 to their forecasted starters. Biggest hit went to their forecasted starting keeper, who lost two levels of form, from solid to inadequate... FM

weekly update, youth pull...
Increase in sponsor money has now trickled down to what I was getting last season, as it increased only 2310 C$, the exact same amount it increased last season, for the week 6 weekly update...
We have fired the 8 extra doctors we had on staff, to go back to our usual staff of 2 doctors, and we've also fired the 2 economists, since they are not needed anymore... As an update, here's how our staff is looking nowadays...
And our economy sheet looks like this, before any crowd money is factored in...
All figures in C$, this means the team is now at under 30k U$ of breaking even before any crowd money, and that is with 10k C$ (5k U$) in interest cost... The weekly youth pull was nothing to write home about, as I started my plan of pulling keepers in hope of getting a solid one to be the team's backup of the future. We got a poor keeper who spent the night with the team and got fired from the squad right in time to take his place as popcorn vendor for tonight's game... Such is the tough life of a poor keeper... match report for week 23.06...
I went into this games fairly confident we could wint it. Going into the game with very high satisfied team spirit, had just dropped from delirious the night before, and playing at home, we were normalling this one. This turned out to be what saved us, giving the team its best ever performance in midfield, a high solid, or supernatural in the old ratings. Yeah, midfield saved us, but until the 64th minute, I was a scared manager, let me tell you that. Even though we owned a clear advantage in possession in the first half, with 71%, we were down 1-2 at the half. Then it all happened in the 64th minute, when to quick goals changed the look of the game and gave us the lead we would never lose after that. Gilang Juanda finished the game with a hattrick and his now the sole scoring leader of III.15, with 9 goals, with the second closest coming with only 5 goals, a 4 goals lead!!! Patrik Kvarning stole the Man of the Match honors from Jon Riser this week, even though they are both in passable form and he is playing as the extra inner midfielder. The two extra weeks of playmaking training he received while Riser was recovering from his injury are probably what sets them apart right now... Another player who played a great match is winger extraordinaire Marcus Hansson, who showed off his excellent form with a 4.5 stars performance, bringing him the team's best ever wing attack with a high passable. Overall, this was the team's second best performance, according to supporter stats, at 99% of the best ever performance, played Last July 18, against max calcio. Converted to old ratings, this week's performance was a 96, wow! More to come in my roundup of III.15... FM

III.15 roundup...
No real surprises this week, even though I had picked Thoroughbreds to win against SD's BOYS on the league pools of my clubhouse, but that was more based on the BOYS's streak of bad luck this season... Speaking of the pool, serious readers are invited to come make their picks on my clubhouse page. The clubhouse can be reached here: http://club.hattrick.org/cdfc/ and the league pool is under "The league". It's called "Series pool"... It sure would be fun to have somebody else try their luck at picking winners in III.15
Even though the Dragons only show up in 6th place, I am very pleased with this showing. Look at how close the teams from 3 to 6 are. Five mere points more, and we would have been three spots higher, this is very encouraging.
And the Dragons are still hanging in there. More than that, we pulled a solid 10 points away from the relegation spot, which is very nice news. While we are still not among the more fearful teams in the league, we are slowly pulling away from the bottom two teams. Nice to see the team leading in scored goals, and tied for the best goal differential in the league. Offense is the key my friends... Now let's hope the good luck will continue... FM

friendly match report...
Not much to add about this game, other than I'm impressed of the midfield my B team achieved, even though it took a formidable playmaker as a toward middle winger to get it. Still, it high inadequate is nice to see for my non starters on a normal attitude... Crowd was still complete crap, as only 2784 came to the game, even though weather was as sunny as it could ever be. Kinda sad that with that sun, God couldn't take advantage of his technical specialty. Even though he scored two goals, he didn't get the star bonus associated with the technical specialty. Specialties are still way too random to be used as a tactical tool to winning games... Probably due to what is mentionned in his latest press announcement, lytic made some sort of mistake and ended up playing a 6-2-2, most certainly losing training this week, but who cares about training in a situation like that. My condolences go to Jay and Becky. Guys, you and yours are in my thoughts... Up next tonight or tomorrow, training report... FM

Thanks a lot to all of you!!! FM

training, week 23.06...
Training
With my ever optimistical attitude, I had a tiny sliver of hope that Reuven Zaltzman, with his 90.8% done toward formidable playmaking, would pop this week. Nope, he wasn't due, so we got yet one more week without a pop, making it the 3rd week in a row without a pop. I know, I know, we'll get major payoff in about 4 weeks, but still, blank weeks are sad... Form
Not a bad week for form movement after all. In fact, this ties our best net form change since the start of this season. I gotta also say that our worst week was only a net -1, we're pretty much always staying put in terms of form... The Good: Sergio Chapin possibly getting the start ahead of veteran Gheorghe Bãnicã, thanks to a form boost to solid form. Last week, former hippo Sergio got his first ever 3.5 stars performance in passable form, we'd expect an even better performance, if only slightly, now in solid form. Marcus Hansson held his excellent form, which bodes well for the other wing attack. Mario Bayer, the outstanding defender lately acquired by the Dragons, finally moved up from weak to inadequate form and will take what should be he usual position, on the island. The Bad: Jon Riser dropped form to inadequate. While still not catastrophic, it's worth noting, as Jon has had an history of dropping form to weak at times, albeit usually for very short periods of time. Forward and scorer extraordinaire, Gilang Juanda also dropped one level, but is still expected to give his usual 4 stars performance, as he has not reached a low in value. The ugly: Gheorghe Bãnicã dropped to weak form, and he will probably see the match from the sidelines this week. Sadly, this is not the first time Gheorghe has been in weak form. He dropped from solid to weak form in three weeks in the middle of season 22, only to go back up to solid form in three weeks, after only two weeks. Let's hope this time around will similar... Testament to how my young players have evolved, in season 22, Gheorghe never left the starting lineup, since I had nobody able to replace him then, only one season ago... Value
This net increase of 3210 TSI points represents our best net increase of season 23 so far, and the second best increase in the last season and a half. Big gainers were three players who increased their form: Mario Bayer +820, Reimund Brigg +830, Miao Thanh-Tuan +560. Best gain without an apparent form change went to Reuven Zaltzman with +490. Sadly, the team saw two of its main trainees drop in value, as Jon Riser went -230, with a one level drop in form, and Patrik Kvarning went -140, with no apparent form change. A drop like that while being trained halfway between brilliant and magnificent playmaking can only meant a big form drop, even if it wasn't for a full level... Opponent overview Thoroughbreds are kinda tough to scout as they've played some funky lineups in the past few weeks and they've put some big names on the market, whom I'm not too sure if they'll play on Sunday. They went +5 / -5 overall with what I'd guess to be +1 / -1 to their starters... FM

League match report for week 23.07
Sorry for being so late on my weekly match report, but I've not been online too much lately... Anyway, here we go...
Well, that first big loss had to come at some point, and how about it only coming in the seventh week of the season, huh? I went into this game knowing we had to build back some team spirit, so I PICed it, leading to a total team ratings of only 159, yet still our best ever on a away PIC. Marcus Hansson got his first mention as Man of the Match, testament to how nicely he's been playing lately. He's been getting his top performance for three weeks in a row now. Defender Mario Bayer is finally getting out of his form funk, with a 4 stars performance in inadequate form, helping the team achieve its 12th best ever defensive performance. While not even in the top ten, this performance is our best defensive showing in a lon while. The attack was its usual self, posting its 5th best ever performance, with Sergio Chapin in relief of an out of form Gheorghe Bãnicã. Chapin's performance helped give the team two passable wing attacks for the first time ever...Overall, the team got its best ever stars total, with 42.5 stars, with stars spread aroung pretty evenly, nobody getting less than 3.5 stars. Despite the loss, which caused two supporters to leave the fanclub, the team remains in third place, a very honorable spot. We are still 10 points ahead of the relegation zone, which I'm also very happy about. This means that for us to drop to the relegation zone, either Sackers or Goose Bay would have to win 4 of their last 7, while we'd lose 4 of our last seven. Us losing 4 out of 7 could easily happen, but I have a hard time seeing either of the other two teams win 4 out of 7 after both winning only one in the first half of the season. Right following the match, the team spirit had jumped to walking on clouds, only to drop back down to delirious the next day. Whether we PIC the return match against Thoroughbreds next week at The Dojo is still uncertain. Next up for the Dragons, friendly match against tk's Real Terps FC... Next up in the dynasty, roundup of III.15... FM

III.15 roundup...
No real surprises again this week. podiatrists tying with Nepean isn't really news, as they were pretty well matched up, and 10 ratings point at this level, around 200, is almost nothing...
The PIC definitely hurt the way we show up in the ratings of the week, but I expected that. The big picture, you gotta remember to look at the big picture, and that bic picture includes an away match against OFV Goose Bay in two weeks...
What a tight race this is turning out to be! Six points between sixth place and first place. One loss and I could drop all the way to sixth, yet still comfortably ahead of the seventh place, at least for now. We'll keep on fighting, dont' worry though... FM

I know, I know, guilty as charged
For those of you not in the know, my parents are presently camping in my driveway, as they are giving us all the materials to build a backyard shed, and my dad is building it partly during the day, partly during the evening, and I help him as soon as I get home after work. This means I've had about 10-15 minutes free a day, to spend on the computer at home, just enough to record the stuff I need to record about my team. For the first time in my Hattrick career, I had a league game where I didn't see one minute of it live. I've had a few where I was only able to check in a few times during the game, but two weeks ago, I turned on the computer about 10 minutes after the final whistle had blown... Anyway, the Dragons are hanging in there in III.15, after a close loss two weeks ago, 1-2 in the return match with Thoroughbreds, and a convincing 3-0 win away against OFV Goose Bay. Standings look like this after 9 weeks:
I'm very happy with that 3rd place, but even happier with the fact that we are now 13 points ahead of the relegation zone. With 5 games to be played in the season, this means that our magic number to clinch a qualifier is now 1. One win by us, or one loss by both Sackers and Goose Bay means we'd be assured of finishing no lower than 6th. That's about it for now, training has been uneventful, as planned. Jackie Cherry finally popped in playmaking, was sold and everybody mourned his departure so much that the team spirit took a hit, GRRRRR! The next few weeks should bring plenty of playmaking pops though... FM

Dragons bring back old youth pull
After pulling keepers for 4 weeks in a row and getting nothing more than the second coming of James Bond in a passable keeper named Roger Moore, the Dragons turned to the transfer market and bought back the rights to one of their former youth pull, Sébastien Turbis. The 25 year old French Canadian was a product of the Dragons' youth development program and graduated to the main club on June 29th in 2003. At the time, he took part in only 2 matches, one of them being a league match. Since then, he has moved around a lot, as you can see from his transfer history: Transfers for Sébastien Turbis
From that same history, you can also see that we paid 92k C$ less to get him back, than what we received when we sold him in July 2003. Finally, Turbis is back home and will now serve as the official backup keeper, in case of any injury to starting keeper, Nick de Hooge. The good news is that during his tenure with in the last calendar year, Turbis has gained some valuable experience and now shows a level of experience of poor, which is always nice to have in a keeper... I present you the newest backup keeper of the Dragons, Sébastien Turbis:
Has poor experience and poor leadership abilities.

Training update for week 23.09
Marcus Hansson skipped his Wednesday training this week after being injured during Sunday's match. To give some background, I usually play Marcus at winger on Sunday, then I play him at inner mid on Wednesday, in order to give him full playmaking training for the week. He got injured to +1 on Sunday and was back to bandaid status on Wednesday, but I thought it was not worth it to risk injuring him badly on Wednesday, only to increase his training level for the week from the 50% he got at winger to the 100% he'd get at inner mid. That and the fact that it meant I would be able to train two extra players compared to a regular week. One because I had three wingers who saw playing time on Sunday, and another one because Hansson didn't play on Wednesday. That was a good decision, since I played Jimi Hendrix and usual wingback Lars Aspenander at winger on Wednesady, and while Hendrix still remains at weak playmaking despite having been trained 5.5 weeks already, Aspenander did pop to inadequate playmaking. This will complement his excellent defending and solid winger skill quite well, I would think... Here's his player card:
Has wretched experience and wretched leadership abilities.
He'll keep on being trained as a wingback when we train winger, and will be sold when he'll hit excellent winger. Other than that, I didn't expect any pops, and didn't get any. The next few weeks should be very interesting, as Patrik Kvarning, Hubert Gortemaker, and Miao Thanh-Tuan are all due to pop this coming week, to magnificent, brilliant, and outstanding, respectively. Marcus Hansson could also pop to formidable playmaking, but I'll have to be lucky for that to happen, as I think he'll probably pop the week after. Overall team value is taking some interesting upward leaps, now settling at 106 460 TSI points, or 10.646 M U$. Comparing this season so far, with last season up to week 9, the team has seen its value increase 2.15M U$ after 9 weeks, because of training, compared to an increase of only 764k U$ after 9 weeks last season. Having trainees hovering around brilliant-magnificent sure bring some nice increases from week to week... Form was not so bad, going +6 / -4, with +3 / -2 going to starters. Both starting wingers, Hansson and Chapin, are now in excellent form, while veteran Gheorghe Bãnicã can't seem to shake off the weak form he's in. Keeper Nick de Hooge stay in inadequate form, a form level he's been unable to get above since the start of season 23... The form of this week's oppoent, Nepean United, stayed even, with an overall +4 / -4, although I have not looked at starters vs reserves. FM

Dragons bid farewell to long time backup keeper
Even though he has started only one competitive match over the years, the Dragons were sad to see backup keeper Francois Boisclair go this Sunday. The keeper who has taken part in 42 matches, 4 of them league matches in relief of an injured teammate, will be remembered fondly. "I knew my time with the Dragons was almost over when they brough back Sébastien (Turbis). I now hope to have a chance at helping another team." He will hopefully get this chance with his new team, FC Tricolor, a fairly new team based in Georgia, USA. The value of the transfer is said to be around 14 000 C$. Good luck Francois, we'll see you around!!! FM

Week 10, Dragons down 1st place team, move to 2nd place
A solid performance by Gilang "Wonder Boy" Juanda was all it took for the Dragons to win over 1st place holder Nepean United. Juanda came through in the clutch with a hat trick, maintaining his lead as the top scorer of III.15. We PICed the game in preparation of our week 11 matchup against Max Calcio, so the win came as very big surprise. With the win, and a surprise loss by Thoroughbreds against 7th place Sackers, the Dragons moved up to 2nd place, only one point behind series leader Nepean United, but still in the middle of a tight pack of 6 teams. Only 4 points separate the top 6 teams. Probably more important than the move up to 2nd place is the fact that, with the win, the Dragons have now clinched a qualifier match to stay up in III. With a 13 points lead over 7th place holder, Sackers, and only 4 matches to be played, or a possibility of 12 points, the Dragons can now finish no worse than 6th in the series... No injuries to report for now, training update is next... FM

woot!
4 pops!!! Patrik Kvarning to magnificent, Hubert Gortemaker to brilliant, Marcus Hansson to formidable (wasn't too sure about him), ... and ... Jimi Hendrix to inadequate!!! He didn't even play this week, must be the last big doobie he smoke that put him over the edge I expected/hoped to see Miao Thanh-Tuan pop to outstanding, but that didn't happen. Should definitely happen next week. Form wise, +6 / -3, given some changes due to my starting lineup, because of form increase, my starting 11 went +4 / -0, so I'm happy Sadly, Jon Riser (brilliant playmaking/inadequate defending) dropped to poor form, which could put his starter status in jeopardy... The team's overall value is now only 32k U$ from the 11M U$ mark. It's been going up like crazy this season, which sort of has to be expected since most of our trainees are past the formidable level, and value makes bigger jumps at higher levels... FM

Well, since my last update, the Dragons have played, and lost, two away games. This 7th place schedule that we inherited this season isn't nice in the second part of the season, and with what we now know about fans seeing the later games of the season as being more important, thus drawing better crowds, it sucks a bit...
Anyway, we lost a close one to max calcio, 1-2, two weeks ago. We normalled that game, but calcio was too much in the midfield for us on the road, as they pulled a low solid midfield on their turf... The other game, we got owned, big time. 1-6, we lost to podiatrists, on their turf. We kept midfield close, but dang did they show us how to play, putting together a ratings of 226, with only a very high weak in midfield. Among their other ratings were some excellents, and even formidables, almost like ratings pre-6.6... The Dragons have had a rash of injuries lately, losing both magnificent playmaker Patrik Kvarning, and winger extraordinaire Marcus Hansson to +4 injuries in back-to back games. Kvarning is now at +1 and is expected to be to bandaid status for this Sunday's game, after missing two weeks of training. Hansson is still +2, and we're hoping he'll get to bandaid before this week's friendly, so he too will only miss two weeks of training... With only two games to play in the season, a qualifier clinched, the team is gearing to get ready for this more than possible qualifier. We're currently in 5th place, playing SD's BOYS, the 6th place team, at The Dojo. Form update was very nice, and we should put up quite a fight this Sunday... FM
