Naw, I actually was about as talkative as I am most day 1's, which is not much at all. Everything was fine before I got busy, and when I checked back in I had a bunch of votes......surprise!

I am still bitter about that horribly over-powered game mechanic.

What was the mechanic? I saw some references to an "awesome mechanic" in the game, but since I haven't really been paying attention, I couldn't figure out what it was. And yes, Day 3 is not early. Last edited by Passacaglia : 10-26-2007 at 11:32 PM. |

Pass, someone had the ability to force an immediate deadline (or at least an early one). Someone forced "sunset" on Day Three 40 minutes early, so not everyone got votes in or night actions (aside from the person choosing to end the day at whatever vote he/she wanted). Also, anyone who didn't vote loses all but their vote AP the next day, so it screwed late voters over for two days. Pretty powerful ability.

That is cool. Not sure I like combining it with the penalty for missing votes, but it's still cool.

They're going to lynch EITHER the SEER or the BODYGUARD!!! WHAT THE FUCK? Kudos to the titans, they've absolutely mindfucked these guys. They are WILLFULLY CHOOSING to lynch a MAJOR ROLE. This is almost as rediculous as Barkeep listening to hoopsguy..... |

Is this going to be Rule #3?
Seriously, this is the kind of thing best discussed with other dead people (of which there are a bunch now) via PM/IM/whatever. |

Yeah, I saw when it was posted, but figured if I made a comment about it, it would just draw more attention to it, so chose to ignore it. Its alot easier to be frustrated when you are dead and know exactly who everyone is! |

Any chance I get to kill BK and render I'm taking immediately. You can't fault me. It's solid strategy.

Its an application of Leibniz's postulate actually: In any supposed transition, ending in any terminus, it is permissible to institute a general reasoning, in which the final terminus may also be included.
That is to say, eventually this thread will be the longest thread ever. |

I'm counting on people's inherent need to complain about the unfairness of dying early - which, we have seen, it pretty powerful. Every game seems to generate 5-15 new responses in this thread.
Sure, we'll need a couple of hundred more werewolf games to get us there, but as long as there is not a sequel to Maximum Football (discussed in the same thread, no less) I feel like this thread is a sleeping giant. |

So, in all that hubbub trying to defend myself, I forgot to scan anyone. I didn't realize it until I was at my soccer game, and by then it was too late. I figured it didn't matter much since the wolves were going to kill me anyway, but it would have been funny if they didn't kill me for some reason, and I had to tell everyone that I forgot to scan the next day!

That actually happened to me on day 1.. I totally forgot I was changed to the bodyguard and had to take off quickly and completely forgot to submit a PM on who to guard. Of course I came home from Connecticut early to the blindside from PurdueBrad and the rest is history (and it didn't matter that I was able to later get a PM in to guard someone) |

25 posts so far from the current game in this thread - way to keep the momentum going, guys.
Since I'm not participating in the current game, I have to find some way to keep up my volume of non-counting posts for the week |

I dunno where I should post this but I want to say somethng.
in all the games I've played I've lost my cool 3 times, and yes when I get pissed of I realy go off on people. Sometimes not with real validation, sometimes with plenty (BK) Now, I just want to state for the record, that if you read my game threads and compare the times I get really angry to the rest you'll see one very ovious pattern. I'm being baselesly accused and have been on the villagers side all 3 times. Honestly guys, I don't get insulting and rude to be fun or just to be an asshole. I don't truly go off unless I'm being rebutted by personal opinion with no real validation whatsoever. |

That's cool and all, but there's tons of baseless accusations in werewolf, and you just have to get used to it. Wolves don't genereally show their hands, so the village is given very little to go on. It seems like you admit that all anyone else is doing is playing the game, and that you're responding by losing your cool. Try to think back to the times that you've thrown out baseless accusations. |

That is part of WW though. It is not a clear cut game where you can color everything black and white... No matter how much you know about a particular game, you can't ever for sure say anything at all is ever fact no matter the role or situation... I have had someone go off at me because they thought I had a personal vendetta against them before, simply because their playstyle always seemed to trigger my wolf-alarm and I ended up voting for them alot due to it. Most of the time, I would wager to say nothing in WW is personal and most people do a fine job seperating game from game. I would just shrug it off and instead of getting worked up over something like that, try to look at it from a different direction and see how you can use it to your benefit. That is just my two cents from someone uninvolved and having no idea who is what role in your current game. |

I understand there are tons of things like this that happen, its the fact that some people refuse to admit that its JUST their personal choice, instead they word it so it looks like the only plausible answer. Which is just as bad a lying to people.
This gets compounded when the people doing it are long time players who people will generally take VERY seriously when they say something. Thats not the persons fault realy, but it just makes being the target of the situation that much more frustrating. |

Keep this thread going, all! I've been very disappointed by the lack of posts in the first couple of days in the current game - how is this supposed to catch Maximum Football when people accept their deaths quietly and with dignity?

Render I posted my longer response in the thread in my role as GM. As a player, I will just point out that I try to be very careful about posting my certainty. For instnace, in this game I repeatedly said I was willing to take a 50/50 chance. I wasn't certain, merely willing to entertain the risk. I will redouble my efforts, when accusing someone to post the reasons and certainty of why I feel the way I do so it doesn't come off as more certain than I actually believe.

Something to keep in mind is that when you can be predicted to reliably act in a certain way, the bad guys can use that against you. For instance, a wolf will realize that he can get under your skin with some baseless accusations and that your response may help to get you killed off.

Dola, I do understand the frustration of being falsely accused. I think we all do except hoops, who can talk his way out of any situation.....
