Render: you will now have an active plane. There isnt a whole lot you can do, volunteer for a special mission or 2.
I will be posting several more mission updates today. At this rate we will be done in about 4 months

Today we will attack a bomber plant. We believe they do some building of general parts used in the construction of bombers. Hitting this target should slow down the number of replacements.

1/24/1944 Battle For Survival
We take off headed for germany. It isnt long before we are greeted by some enemy aircraft. 4 109's turn and burn through our group, hitting flying crawfish hard. They lose their number 1 engine and even after their bombs are dropped, they must return to base. We proceed further into germany and meet another group of 109's. This time Rust Bucket takes damage to their number 3 engine. They are unable to hold formation, so they drop their bombs early and pull back into the group. We make it over the target and prepare for the bomb run. Flak is very heavy here so we do our best to concentrate. We drop out bombs and start to pull away. Suddenly, The Four horsemens nose points towards earth and it starts to turn to the left. I notice that a big chunk of its left wing is missing along with part of its tail. It doesnt look as though they will pull it back level, and a short time later we see some parachutes. WE only are able to see 4 of them, and hope the rest of the crew was able to bail out. The rest of the flight group is able to fly home safely. Later we learn that all 10 crewmen from The Four Horsmen were captured. With a little luck some of them might actually make it back home alive.

1/27/1944 Tutow Aircraft Works
Today we attack the tutow aircraft works. This is our deepest mission into germany yet, at 1545 miles. This is a large plant and high command believes that production of the fw 190's has been moved to this plant. Lets continue to hit them hard.

1/27/1944 A sign of things to come?
Things start off bad right from the beginning. We are down one plane before we ever take off. A faulty landing gear on the Mighty Madness has grounded her for the day. This mission will be flown with just 5 planes. Also, Rajun Cajuns will be making their rookie mission, but it wont take long before they are veterens. We get the mission underway, and proceed into germay. We are blitzed by 2 waves of 109's. There is barely any time to catch our breath as fighters occupy us until deep into germany. Cloudsplitter gets really beat up. Their Tail Gunner Liu, is killed in action. They lose their number 2 engine, and our forced to drop their bombs early. We run into some more planes right over the target area, but they are rookies, and go down quite easily. We drop our bombs smashing the target. We limp home, and land safely. This was really crappy for us having to fly 5 planes. Sometimes their are planes that are damaged I guess, but not severe enough to show it on the plane select clipboard. So I selected the 6 planes not knowing. and when i went to fly the mission on 5 were there. Usually I can go in and select another plane to fly in its place, however, it wouldnt let me do that, and I didnt save it after the last mission so I was forced to fly 5.

1/30/1944 Anthlam Aircraft Works
This plant is in the far northern area of germany, north of berlin and near the coast. You should see little Figther activity, although you can expect very heavy flak.

1/30/1944 Quiet Ride
This mission proved to be one of our easier missions. The majority of our flight was over the ocean. Therefore we met little resistance from the luftwaffe until we approached land. Only one group of 109's came up to welcome us. The battle drug on, and were only able to down 3 of them. The other plane ran out of ammo, and had to return to base. We run through heavy flak on the approach towards the target, but luckily none of us is too damamged as we drop our bombs right on the mark. Tearing up the target. we turn around and head for home, thankful to be alive for another mission.

2/2/1944 Heinkle Aircraft Plant
Today we attack a target Just north of berlin. This plant manufactures a large number of aircraft engines for several different planes. This should seriously hamper the german effort to repair and replace aircraft. Good luck men In other news, talks between USA and GB continue. The possiblity for the invasion of europe looms closer. Also all the p-51 will be phased out of the 8th airforce. P-47's will replace many of them.

2/2/1944 Bombs in Berlin
This could be one of our most dangerous missions yet. Berlin is pretty heavily defended. Luckily this target is on the outskirts of the flak zones. We should face some pretty stiff defenses. We ride into germany and everything is still quiet. 4 109's fly up to greet us. We are poor aims today or so it seems, as only 2 of them fall from our guns. Everything gets quiet again, as everyone expects the germans to unleash their full force upon us once we reach berlin. However, that attack never comes. We reach berlin, and although the flak is very heavy at times, we fail to see another enemy aircraft. Tommyknockers is hit the hardest. A piece of flak rips through the nose killing their bombadier. Their left waist gunner is also struck down by a flak burst. We bomb our target very successfully and head for home. Our landing is a little rough as flak had severed the hydraulics on tommyknockers landing gear, but they were able to crank it down before landing.

AE: all you need is a plane name. Occasionally I might post some volunteer missions, but since it is almost a contest, I thought that might favor people who spend far to much time here.
GB: thats a good idea, however he could just be a terrible aim. Ill try not to let your plane get in his gun sights Blade: i will do my best to make sure your planes are shot down more than anyone elses...Its the least I could do

2/5/1944 Basdorf AeroEngine Plant
We will be heading deep into germany today. Our target is a large engine plant. They manufacture engines strictly for Airplanes, so this is a high priority target.

2/5/1944 One bumpy ride
Cloudy skies greet us over the channel and we prepare for another run deep into the bowels of germnay. We a far inside enemy territory when we are attacked, and the luftwaffe holds back nothing as they send 8 planes up to take us down. Our bomber wing holds together and is able to down 7 of the 8 aircraft. Misfortune strikes Brave Saint Saturn, as one of their crewmembers is hit by a stray bullet and killed. Black smokes pours out of their #2 engine, but they are able to stay information. The luftwaffe sends up another 4 planes. These guys are much better pilots. However, they picked the wrong group to mess with, and we down 3 of them. We reach the target amidst a hail of flak, some of the heaviest we will see. Luckily the Ground crews are a bad aim, and we narrowly avoid the worst of it. Our bombs are dropped, doing high damage to the target, and we fly back home to england, thankful to be alive.

NEWS ALERT
Word has just reached us from high command. Studies have shown that the actual number of enemy planes produced per month has not be slowing down. New findings indictate that the bombing is ineffective, and that a new plan is being devised. High command has given us a new mission priority. They had found that the ball bearing industry is a bottleneck industry for the german war machine. Destroying the capability to produce precision ball bearings will severly hurt the ability of produce and repair aircraft, tanks, submarines, etc. Ball bearing plants have been given the highest priority, and we expect you to take these targets out.

2/8/1944 Operation Rolling thunder Elberfield Ball Bearing Plant
Our next series of targets are going to be against the ball bearing industry. This first target is a decent sized factory for the germans. It does not produce any specific sizes, and can quickly switch to procduce a wide range of ball bearings. This plant must go first, so the germans will really feel the weight of the 8th wing bearing down on them.

2/8/1944 The Loss of a good friend
This mission starts out like all others, cloudy weather and the blue channel below us, as we fly towards destiny. We get hit hard and often on this mission with 11 different people claiming kills. During the first wave of enemy aircraft, Tommyknockers was hit really bad, their plane started to lose alitude and we never saw them again. CloudSplitters lost their number 2 and 3 engines and was forced to turn back to england. We battled on, and managed to down 15 enemy fighters in the process. We reach the target, and even though we are missing 2 planes, we drop our bombs perfectly, destroying or damaging every building. We turn back home and our thoughts are with TommyKnockers. We approach the base, and land safely. Upon our return we are met by the CO. He says that Tommyknockers made it back to base safely. Their radio was knocked out of commission. Some bad news though, one of Stormbringers hotshots, Kunzle was wounded pretty badly and died on the operating table. They also lost another member of their crew, Coninck. But for the rest of the crew, they will fly once more.

well, I tried to get a mission done today. Unfortunately I was not able to. My power supply fan has all but gone out. I was in the middle of flying back to england when the game suddenly exited. Luckily I noticed no circulation after I cleaned it out. I may have another power supply that i can put in. If so I will try to fly some missions tomorrow.
