Us has now laid siege to basra. 7 or 8,000 troops have surrendered so far. One brigade is still inside the city and has not given up yet.

More explosions in baghdad.

Basra is still not under US control. They continue to work towards surrounding it, and fighting continues. The US are hoping for a surrender, and are not wishing to fighter street by street.

The American was found injured and hiding in a bunker. Asked if he was hurt throwing a grenade, Strassman reports the soldier replied, "Yes."

The Kuwaitis were both working as translators for us.

FoxNews reports that "The soldier is assigned to the 101st Airborne, and the motive in the attack "most likely was resentment," said Max Blumenfeld, a spokesman for the U.S. Army V Corps. He did not elaborate."

I believe that was according to Iraqi TV. American TV report is the closest is only halfway, about 150 miles away.

Reports of heavy casulties in the fight for the town of Nazarea (sp?). Apparently 50 marines were killed or wounded when Iraqi soldiers in civilian clothing opened fire.

Video shown was taped, possibly shortly before the war. He gave praise to several Division commanders who have surrendered. Made no mention of bombing on iraq.

apache helicopter down 50 miles south of iraq. It is possible it developed engine trouble, and had to set down.
