For those of you who use the 32 team format in previous years - how do you handle the relative lack of players?
I started a universe in 1994 with 32 teams as opposed to 28 but didn't add very many players to compensate. As a result I got a lot of "Unknown Player X" in my transactions log and even some play logs. I've been adding fictional players here and there with a base year of 1995-2001 to make sure that doesn't happen and to make sure the talent pool isn't diluted. |

I've never had that problem. I'm not sure, but I *think* that nilodor's roster files have a lot of fictional players.

Good to know. I did some testing and it looks like I get "Unknown Players" in normal universes too, so it must be unrelated.

Maybe check the players IDs. If they do not have created names that most likely would be why I think.

I've never had an unknown player problem. I do add a bunch of players to the free agents, not to the teams themselves. Although they get signed before you can see all of the original rosters as part of the game initialization. This was done to keep the game from generating a bunch of very good fictional players in the free agent ranks. |
