Yeah, it wouldn't be a win for this particular game, I agree.

Ideal case: Lynch an avatar.
Next best case: have a meaningful vote (which we may well be doing, there's a number of candidates and some votes have moved).

Also, I'm somewhat hindered from voting for SnDvls, even though it would create a three-way tie. If I do that, he can change his vote to me and I can no longer even force a tie, let alone keep myself one vote back.

So unless votes come off of me sometime soon I'm pretty much locked into a pure defensive vote today. Better Day 1 than later in a game, I guess, but I still greatly prefer putting a vote on someone based on an assumption of guilt.

SnDvls, how many of your powers are:
1. Day
2. Night
3. Your choice

I'm hoping you feel comfortable divulging this information to help us make a decision. I don't think this would hobble you too much in terms of playing out the game later.

Why? How can anyone believe that anyone is good on day one? No offenses but that sounds very much like political BS.

9PM CST = one hour to go.

I'm pretty OK with a three horse race at this point - just hope one of the other two is an Avatar so we can learn something from this. The villager vs villager (vs villager) stuff on Day 1 is always a bummer.

Interesting - my powers do not match up with SnDvls answer. I'm not sure that is a hanging offense, but I would have felt more comfortable if they had.

Do any elementals feel like confirming that they have a 2/2 day/night split on their powers to help validate SnDvls? I don't, and if no one else does then I'm officially worried.

I guess this tends to support my theory that there are at least 10-12 different powers in this game then as I was the 1st to state this too.

Right, I'm not suggesting that you and I have different powers (I don't have the one you mentioned) and different day/night breakouts as a reason to vote for you.

But, if no one else has a 2/2 split then I would believe that you guessed at the question I posed and were wrong. I don't want to rush to judgement, but as more people make their way into the thread and don't post "I've got a 2/2 split" then I grow a little more suspicious that this is what happened.

Hoops, I don't find that line of inquiry very revealing at all. I don't have a 2/2 split, BUT I wouldn't expect everybody to have the same splits.

BTW hoops, I don't know whether to be relieved or disappointed that I won't have that goddamn necrophiliac duck quote staring me in the face day after day.

After brief reflection, relieved.

Cronin, so far you and I don't have a 2/2 split. Other people have had a chance to comment and have not done so. Lathum, Pass, and Saldana are also in the thread at the moment, for example. Path has posted since SnDvls answered.

At what point, given a lack of backing on the 2/2 split, does it become a reasonable line of inquiry to you?

Probably not at any time. I'm guessing that most abilities are night abilities, so it seems perfectly likely that only one player would have a 2/2 split.

I'm not discounting your thinking, I'm just not on board with it.

Point of clarification that someone asked. You can ONLY use powers during the day/night period where the proper sign is up. If you elect not to use your Squid power this time, you have to wait till the sign comes back up again.

i havent commented because i dont think it is a good idea to reveal our powers to the avatars. even by saying "i have a 2/2" split or "i have a 1/3" split, we are giving the avatars the ability to prioritize their targets.

You can use the other argument - that a wolf has teammates who can communicate with him so he is up to speed on everything.

Or the idea that you pay more attention as a wolf as you have more to lose than you do as a vanilla villager.

Or how about this - that most Day 1's do not "partially start" a day early, and then "actually start" on the following page? In this particular case I looked at the first couple of posts and everything that started today (which was on Page 2).

If you want to vote for me, go for it. But this reason sucks imho.

what does that have anything to do with Hoops?

I'm not sure I understand where you are coming from here?

Also, it seems Hoops may be trying to get as much information from us before he potentialy gets lynched. Another wolfish tactic.

Hmm, from where I sit casting the early vote for someone, then moving it when they are the vote leader - with enough time for it to matter - to another candidate near the top smells like wolf protecting wolf action.

Probably being too paranoid there (it isn't that easy, right), but that is what it looks like from my "knowing I'm a villager" standpoint.

it means i find it interesting that you are using a "lack of paying attention" to vote for hoops, but you didnt have a problem with the fact that sndvls didnt even know who was playing.

At least half of the active players have been in the thread in the last 30 minutes. I still haven't heard anyone state that they have a 2/2 split on powers.

I agree that this is giving away some information potentially, but it also allows us to make a more informed vote tonight. What if the game has all elementals with a 3/1 split in the same direction (note: I'm not asking anyone to volunteer this)?

If you think this notion is shaky, I would argue that it is based on a lot more than a "random vote".
